I use modafinil (200mg in the morning) for MS related fatigue and it works wonders for me. I take it as early as I can in the morning and without it I am not sure I would be able to continue to work full time. When using it I feel more alert, sharper and definitely less fatigued. However the one thing I have noticed is that my appetite completely diminishes.

As I have limited feeling in the bladder bowel areas I know that I am often unaware of the need to go (trying to be polite here) which can lead to incontinence. My probs actually began to deteriorate when I took up running.

Symtoms where present both arms where heavy both legs where like they where made of lead and fatigue was there constantly. I started Modafinil last December but I honestly cannot say for sure if it works. I still get tired but it does not seem as bad as before I started it. Some days I don't take it at all and seem fine, other days I don't take it I am exhausted. I switched about 3 months ago from Rebif to Tec. Like Lori, I had to go back and start more slowly due to severe GI issues. I have been back on the full dose about 3 weeks and it is a lot better than before.

Hello there, first off all getting off seroquel is a good thing. Now speaking of Modafinil (Provigil) well i suggest it to you because it doesn't have any badside effects at all but the little side effects when you start or the ones of drinking coffee and even then i didn't notice anything stronger than coffee with Modafinil (Alertec here in Canada). I take it as a cognitive enhancer.

Hi Alex, I am sorry you are feeling so fatigued. It's rotten. Here is my experience. The modafinil not only works, but it's a complete lifesaver for me. I would be in big trouble without it. I started out on 200mg. This was a disaster for me. I am small, and I think the dose was too much. It made me feel as if I was on a train that wouldn't stop and it gave me heart palpitations. This freaked me out and I stopped immediately. Neuro recommended trying 100mg.

My sister in law is newly pregnant and not originally from Australia. I am a new zealander so don't know much about Australian birth care. But are midwives used?? Or do you see the doctor? She is An Australian permanent resident. Here in NZ is it simple, you just contact a midwife and go from there. Is it that simple in Australia?

Hey, Doc~ I'm sure you understand that it isn't just any tick that will produce Lyme disease after having bitten someone. You know that they are deer ticks that have been infected, and hence carry the disease. I'm sorry about the cat. My goodness! But there's no way to tell if the tick that latched onto kitty infected the cat with Lyme or something else. (Not saying it can't have been Lyme!) I found a site that says Lyme was first documented in Australia in 1980.

You are trying anything to feel better, including (and I had to look it up) taking an off label drug. Like all addicts who aren't in recovery, you substituted one drug for another. In your case opiates for alcohol. What you are going thru right now is withdrawl. There is NOTHING that will fix it or hurry it up except time.
