The medication works by inhibiting the enzyme that converts testosterone to its bioactive metabolite dihydrotestosterone thus decreasing its levels in the body.
Propose that your partner try Avodart. I think it really helps with prostate enlargement. That is what the television commercials say anyhow.
Unfortunately it also can cause a large reduction in semen production.
AND women wanting to become pregnant should NEVER touch the pill as it can cause birth defects if they are exposed at all to it.

I have some hair loss and started using generic form of Rogaine. After using it I got a little dizzy and then read it was originally high blood pressure medication.. I want to know if this hair regrowth medication is safe to us on people with heart block???

Hello I have been using Rogaine and Propecia 1mg a day for the last 6 years , my alts and so on have always been high around 150 , my gastro doctor 6 years ago it is fine to be using it , now I have stage 11 Fibrosis and will
start treatment probably in the next year or so I wil try and wait for telaprevir .

I had quite severe BHP and taking proscar and cardura. Had always difficulty urinating. I tried saw palmetto and it made me unable to urinate at all. I had to go to hospital.
The reason rogaine works is not because it has some super hair growth formula in it, it is because when using rogaine, you massage it in to your scalp. Basically waking those sleeping hair folicals. You can achieve the same result by strictly massaging your scalp for 3 to 5 minutes ever night when washing your hair. The best indication of a genetic hair loss is to look at your mothers father. If he had balding it was most likely bred into you.
he suggested rogaine 5% for male. after using for one month i found hairs onupperlip and burns around mouth.peeling of dry skin around mouth is
also happened,. I stopped using rogaine according to the derm's advice. I dont know how could iget rid ofthe burns and hair growth .What is the remedy for this?
It must have been tight to do that , I am not certain if Rogaine can be used on children it may be best to ask the Doctor , I would think it will grow its just taking time ,best to ask advice ..

ve been using Rogaine), crepy skin, wrinkles, dry skin, sagging everything, varicose and bulging veins, and basically the loss of my looks. And I am so tired. I take a host of supplements, and use a red laser about 3 times a week. I have had no exercise in the last few months though and alot of stress. I weigh 115 at 5'3. Any advice other than cry and add exercise back in as well as quit my profession lol?
Good time NOW to try Rogaine. The younger you are, the more recent the hair loss, the better it works. Hair loss as early as the late teens is rare but does happen in an otherwise healthy individual. Just see a dermatologist to confirm this hair loss is hereditary and not from a dermatosis.
Had a heart attack 4 years ago and was prescribed the meds mentioned earlier. Rogaine is for hair growth and have to be always taken or run the risk of losing hair. Need a reply.
It works similar to Rogaine but is natural and does not have the same side effects Rogaine has on some people. You must diffuse the oil and there are a lot of suggestions with what to diffuse it with. Almond, jojoba, castor oil appear to be the most common.
For the past 6 months I have been using rosemary diffused with almond with particular attention to the front of my head. I feel like it might have worked a little.

I'm a 15 year old now and I've been experiencing thinning since I was 12 and now it's gotten to the point where my entire head besides the sides has abnormally thin hair. I noticed it 6th grade but didn't think much of it until last year and I went to a dermatologist who gave me rogaine. I used it for about 8 months and was given no result at all with no change and since then it has gotten worse.
For several months I have been using minoxidil/Rogaine 5% foam twice daily on my head and beard (I know this was absolutely foolish). My wife is five and a half weeks pregnant and I have halted minoxidil use immediately after finding out the good news last week.
I have heard that some people take Rogaine to boost their hair growth and that this is the only medication that has been approved by the FDA for this. I've also heard that once you start taking Rogaine, you must continue to take it religiously or you will lose the hair again.
Another option might be to look into hair plugs. This is where they take pieces of existing hair or "plugs" of hair, and transplant them to other parts of the scalp.
Hello all, I was recently diagnosed with PCOS, and I would just like to say thank you to everyone, I feel so much better reading everyone's stories and experiences, it lets me know I'm not alone. While I have many nasty symptoms from PCOS, my thinning/balding hair seems to be a big problem. I have probably lost almost half my hair at this point (almost all of it from the top of my head and hairline).
Thanks Heather. I'm not on any other med. I've been using Rogaine for a few mos. I wonder if it could be that - it makes my scalp itch. I'm thinking that it coud be the Avonex or Rogaine or possibly a symptom of something else. Thanks.
