I am 43yrs old and was treated for stage one prostate cancer last year. I had agressive treatment with a combination of external radiation and Brachytherapy. I now on Uromax tablets (Tamsulosin Hydrochloride 0.4 mg) which is causing me severe pain when ejaculating. Please advice if there is anything I can as I am still very young.
I have sought out a urologist who said he detected a high count of white blood cells. I was prescribed procrit or proscar for an extended period of time. I did not complete the required dose because it wasn't helping. I now i have infected my sex partner on a couple of different occassions. she gets treated and cured but i can not. My symptoms include burning and an itching feeling on the tip of my penis.

BUT in the past 2 years my sensation on oregasm is VERY decreased, and inthe past year I notice a much smaller amount of semen. I DO have a SLIGHLY enlarged prostate, I DO have pre- diabetes, I do take Verapamil, and a small dose of Atenolol . I do take PROSCAR. HOWEVER NO new medications were added i nthe pats YEAR and the DECREASE in amount of semen and sensation has been during this YEAR. I dont think its the medications. I DONT smoke. I DONT drink.
I am a 69 year old male with BPH, and a father who had prostate cancer for 15 years, but did not die from it. I have had two bouts of acute prostatitis causing complete retention in the last 7 years, one requiring catheterization. My PSA averages around 2.0, and I take Proscar and Cardura daily. My BPH symptoms are fairly mild causing only about one or two nights a month of nocturia, reduced urine flow, and hardly ever the feeling of urgency.
Also, a radical prostatectomy seems like an extreme measure for prostatitis! I had a radical prostatectomy in Jul 2018 for prostate cancer, and the effects of that are not to be trifled with - 15+ months later, I’m still struggling to regain sexual function & many things are different, including urination. Believe me, you don’t want this unless it’s to save your life, as in if you’re diagnosed w/ cancer.
he check my blood, urine analysis, said it was urethritits put me on doxycycline for 2 weeks. That made no change...nizoral for 10 days, no change...I went to a urologist...checked my psa.. 0.50, physical examination of my prostate normal..urine tests, culture and yeast urine test..normal..the urologist said to me you do not have a prostate problem but i am going to give you this drug called proscar anyway..this will cure any problem that you do have..Well it didn't....
Hello sir, it is important to realize that the biopsy needle is quite small and the biopsy tissue only represents a small portion of the prostate gland. Therefore, it is possible for the biopsy to not concur with the final pathology result (which is the most accurate way of staging your disease). Also, you have only had a small portion of all the pelvic lymph nodes removed.
Finasteride goes by the brand name Propecia (for MPB) and Proscar (for BPH) and is a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor used to treat male pattern baldness (MPB) and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) [enlargement of the prostate]. The medication works by inhibiting the enzyme that converts testosterone to its bioactive metabolite dihydrotestosterone thus decreasing its levels in the body.
s for benign prostate enlargement, and the results were rather mixed. Then Proscar came along and pretty much ended that debate. Saw Palmetto has faded into the background - it's possible you affected your DHT levels, but it will definitely only be temporary. I quit Proscar for that reason, best not to fool around with sex hormone levels, in my opinion.
60 yo white male. BMI of 26. I eat very well and exercise moderately.
Due to a couple of PSA spikes (from < 2 to about 4 ng/ml, then back down) in recent years have been seeing my urologist every 6 months and getting more frequent PSA tests.
lowest ever PSA, in my late 40s, when I started testing, was 0.7 ng/ml

all done by LabCorp. When questioned the lab said they are confident of the result.
I just was on bactrim DS for 6 weeks for Prostatitis cause of pandemic they could not see me. My urine is always clean. I was given flomax but refuse to take it because of ejaculate going backwards and might faint. What can I do to solve this? I usually go to acupuncture but this pandemic is closing everything.
observation if another biopsy done in 04/09 shows increase in positive cores to 3 or more or if any one core shows 50%+ positive for cancer? Also, is there any current opinion regarding use of Avodart or Proscar while in Watchful Waiting mode? I understand there would be a likely reduction in PSA, but that new PSA baseline be established and return to monitoring of PSA velocity. Not sure what, if any, benefit this would provide.

Hi im 20 years old engaged to be married and a new nurse i am young but am very concerned about my fertility I cant wait to have a family but I have been taking birth control pill for about 3 years now have been diagnosed with HPV and recently have been handling a medication which i didnt know shouldn't be handle by women because of problem with birth defects and infertility so any encouraging advice would be great i havent heard any real evidence on birth control pills causing specific prob
I am 77 years old and have been taking Flomax for about 2 years. I have had cool thermo therapy for enlarged prostrate about 2 years ago.
Unrination is really no problem anymore, but I have a problem with getting erections and now when I ejaculate I have no semon in me. Also have a runny nose mostly in the a.m.
What is your advice and opinion for this problem.
