Propecia is known to cause impotence, abnormal ejaculation, loss of sex drive and pain in testicles. However its effect on sperm is not reported. “Women who are or may potentially be pregnant must not use PROPECIA and should not handle crushed or broken PROPECIA tablets because the active ingredient may cause abnormalities of a male baby's sex organs. If a woman who is pregnant comes into contact with the active ingredient in PROPECIA, a doctor should be consulted.
From what I have read & also heard on other forums, saliva isn't good for sperm. I think it kills them but not sure to what extent. To be on the safe side, I would suggest not getting saliva "in the mix". Good- luck!
How can I improve my husbands sperm count. He has his analysis done and it was not good. It was 11.4 but he didn't wait his 2 days like he was suppose to. So I am not sure if the counts r right which I know they r not. So how do I help him improve it. He won't go and get it retested he has already told me that. So how do I improve it?
I should mention since my original post that my urologist said the possibility of thezero sperm count being caused by the steroids is there of course, but that I could also have a blockage, or trauma to my testicles as a young boy, or just about anything could be having this effect on my sperm count. He even said I could have been born sterile, which surprised me. I'm looking for any information on the different fertility drugs out there and how effective they are. Thank you everyone!
I have been taking Propecia since 2.5 years at variable doses(0.25 first 6months, 0.5 mg for one year and 1 mg for 1 year till today), In october 2016 my derm put me on accutane 10 mg and minoxiline(100mg) for treating my mild acne, I had been drinking heavily for 5 days before starting my accutane course, 10 days into the course, I started to have Gyno(Unilateral, right breast with a movable tender lump), I dropped accutane and minoxiline and also propecia after 23 days.
I took him to dermetologist, he priscribed Propecia for him. He said it has sexual side effect and goes away when yo sop taking the drug. He has lots of hair now and he does not lose any more hair. However, news is floting around saying that the sexual side effect comes from propecia is sometime not reversible. Asyesterday,he stopped his medicine. I am really worried if it has done any damage to him or not.
About 6 years ago after trying for a baby for 1 year he had a sperm count test and was told there was a very slim chance he could conceive.He had another sperm count test done just after he was diagnosed with graves disease and took the results to his new GP and was told there was activity but it was very low.We are confused about if it has anything to do with the overactive thyroid and if there is explanations or answers?? I attribute my erection problems to the Propecia tablet that I take daily. As you know, Propecia is 1 mg. of finasteride. Propecia has been shown to cause side effects such as erectile problems in a small minority of users. Unfortunately, I appear to be in that small minority. Once my erection problems surfaced, I began looking for a solution. I do not want to stop taking Propecia because it has done wonders for my hair.
It depends on the man really. If he has normal healthy sperm and count, it shouldn't matter too much. If he doesn't it will deplete his count making it harder. I have read some studies that say that doing it every day may deplete sperm count some but it increases the chances that more good healthy sperm are the only one getting thru. In other words, his count may go down but only the bad ones decrease and there are still plenty of good swimmers available.
Have sex every second or third day in the time from the end of her monthly period to the beginning of the next period. Not every day, though, since that would have a negative effect on your sperm count.
If these things don't help, see a doctor and get your sperm count checked, and also be sure you don't have a varicocele, which might heat the area a little bit and have a negative effect on your sperm count.
He gave me a urology referral. Can propecia be the cause?, 2) Although testosterone level of 305 is normal on the charts....can it be abnormal for me?, 3) If I try testosterone, will I become dependant on it for life? 4) Is there a way to have my body make testosterone more naturally? 5) Are there medicines that can boost my body’s ability to make its own testosterone, and once I stop these medicines, by body will continue to make more testosterone?
The doctor has said before I am put on clomid he needs a sperm count on my husband. My husband is not wanting to be embarrassed going into a place knowing that the nurses/workers will know what he is doing. How does this work when a sperm count is needed? Can it be done at home and taken in? Can I help him? Does it have to be done in an office? Please help so I can ease my husbands mind. Ty in advance!

WBC's <1,000 WBCs/cmmm
Morphology 80% Normal
Motility 3 % 4t, 20% 3t, 32% 2t, 5% 1t, 40% x motility
Total Motile count 837.7 million sperms
Total normal motile count 670.2 million sperms
After wash - excellent concentration and motility
I've got no idea how to read this - but my concern is the total number.
s better to have sex every other night rather than every night because every night decreases sperm count.
