Avatar f tn There is really no pain upon ejaculation, only the feeling of a slight buildup due to the thickness of the semen. I have been to a urologist for this and upon a semen analysis, everything came back normal. I do take Finasteride 0.5mg every other day for my hair. Could this be the cause? He insisted that it was NOT the Finasteride (propecia). In addition, I asked if it could be low testosterone and he claimed that it was not the issue in this case.
Avatar n tn “Women who are or may potentially be pregnant must not use PROPECIA and should not handle crushed or broken PROPECIA tablets because the active ingredient may cause abnormalities of a male baby's sex organs. If a woman who is pregnant comes into contact with the active ingredient in PROPECIA, a doctor should be consulted. PROPECIA tablets are coated and will prevent contact with the active ingredient during normal handling, provided that the tablets are not broken or crushed.
Avatar m tn I do not want to stop taking Propecia because it has done wonders for my hair. Propecia has halted my hair loss and has re-grown considerable amount of hair. Thus, I need to address my erection problems while still being able to take Propecia. I read that L-Arginine could help with my erectile problems and that it works similar to Viagra. Thus, I began taking L-Arginine, 1500 mg. twice a day. It has helped but it has not solved the problem.

Avatar n tn To my horror I came across this page and saw your posts. I stopped taking propecia more than a year ago and have not regained any of the sexual funtion i lost while taking the meds. My erections are LAME, my seaman volume is a joke (and it used to come out like a garden hose) and my orgasms dont even feel that great. I can go months and months now without masterbation and dont even feel horny. This NEVER used to happen to me.
Avatar n tn Usually you can find out things like this from a pharmacist, and it is also helpful to look up the drug's website and perhaps give a call to its 800 number.
Avatar n tn s assistant pretty much ruled out telogen effluvium, told me it was androgentic alopecia, and wrote me a prescription for Propecia. I almost wish I had not went to this appointment as I now have to decide between what this PA concluded and what seems like common sense. Does this seem like a correct diagnosis or should I get a second opinion?
Avatar m tn Forgot the most important word but you can insert mind, energy level, memory, skin moisture, restful sleep and a few others and the sentence will still be correct. Treatment is tough and in the big scheme of things hair loss is the least of your worries. I know as young man of 32 it's difficut to understand that but it's very true.
Avatar m tn Hello, It has been found that the sexual side effects associated with the hair loss medication like Propecia, includes problems with libido, ejaculations and orgasm and it could last even after patients stop taking the drug which may be months to years. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.
Avatar n tn My sex drive is no where near where it was before taking propecia and besides the erections I get in the morning or when I am sleeping, I still do not get spontaneous erections. I also don't get erections unless physically stimulated. My imagination or the sight of an attractive girl doesn't do it like it did prior to taking the drug. I don't feel aroused or want sex hardly ever.
Avatar f tn Finasteride is an underestimated and dangerous pill for hair loss. Its hard to stop it and not experience libido issues. You are lucky enough that you took it for so little time. There are other people taking it for years facing serious hormonal side effects. It will probably take as long as you took the tablets to feel like before. So a couple of months is a good projection as this pill changes hormonal balance in your blood and gene expression about androgen receptors.
Avatar m tn 5 mg for one year and 1 mg for 1 year till today), In october 2016 my derm put me on accutane 10 mg and minoxiline(100mg) for treating my mild acne, I had been drinking heavily for 5 days before starting my accutane course, 10 days into the course, I started to have Gyno(Unilateral, right breast with a movable tender lump), I dropped accutane and minoxiline and also propecia after 23 days. Avatar m tn Dr. Srivastava, I have much of the same symptoms dent1039 describes. Diagnosed via MRI, CT and Bone Scan with, Herniated L5-S1 of which I have received nerve root injections, coccydynia of which I also received several injections (which actually helped that area a lot) and Chronic Non-bacterial Prostatitis (propecia as I'm allergic to Flowmax). For the Prostatitis I took all of the usual tests and antibiotics as well as the full scope (ouch) and multiple and regular PSA testing (1.

Avatar m tn Many patients are wrongly identified as prostatic hyperplasia and chronic prostatitis. Although prostatic hyperplasia is very just like chronic prostatitis during the early stage, they may be two different diseases. What are the symptoms of prostatic hyperplasia and chronic prostatitis? How to distinguish between prostatic hyperplasia and chronic prostatitis?
Avatar n tn I am worried about this prostatitis and if it is transmittable. I care about this girl deeply as a friend and potential long-term partner and do not want to pass it to her (not that I'd want to pass anything on to anyone). And even if it doesn't affect her I worry that she could potential pass it on to another partner. My questions are: Was this caused by chlamydia? Can I transmit this? If so, is a condom effective protection. Can I transmit it via her to someone else? (i.e.
Avatar n tn Trachomatis, U Urealyticum seems to be responsible for a significant proportion of the remainder of cases (20-30%) Without treatment, the disease usually resolves within 1-6 months although asymptomatic infection may persist thereafter. In women, salpingitis, endometritis, and chorioamnionitis can occur. Prostatitis and epididymitis have been associated with U Urealyticum infection in men." -CDC's Redbook.
Avatar m tn Because the number of all people having prostatis AND being at risk of STD is probably quite low (not a majority of people have a risky sex life) this number is actually quite high. I mean if 20% of the population is at risk of STDs that would make the chances of their prostatis being caused by an STD of 1 in 4 and even higher if less than 20% of the population was at risk of STD.
Avatar m tn So I usually used to masturbate around 3 times a day sometimes more for the past 8 and a half years or so, and when I was 16-19 sometimes when I ejaculated I would forget to push all the semen out so it would back up into my bladder and when I went pee the tip would burn and the sperm would come out, and after that one instance of peeing it would go away and wouldn't come back for months and months at a time.
