But my doc told me to start trying after I get two periods after my last Lupron shot. And she gave me Prometrium to get my period back quicker because it didn't come back on its own. My thing is that I don't want to wait any longer I want to try now!!
I'm 56 and not in menopause and I have no idea when it will happen. My last hormone tests show my estrogen to be decreasing - it was at level 53 but my FSH was only 4! I am trying to control my wacky and heavy bleeding with progestins with mixed results. Prometrium isn't working well and Aygestin is giving me cramps. I am considering having an endometrial ablation done which is an hour long procedure, they do a D&C, a histerscopy and the burning out the lining.
and if i dont start i have to take another med. called aygestin and my doc said do not take them together so im going to wait and see if i start this week. last month i needed aygestin to start my AF because i hadn't had it for 9 mnths, due to the PCOS. by the way crystal is a healthy drink for u to drink and also wylers but i know water is the best.
My doc put me on Aygestin to regulate my periods, but I stopped taking it in June. It's October and since I stopped taking it, I have not ovulated, and I used to ovulate monthly. My cycles range from 23 to 26 days, will I ever get back to normal ovulation, is it possible the Aygestin is still in my system and how long should it take to get back to normal again?

Unfortunately, the major clinical studies conducted compare estrogen-only to estrogen + progesterone. There haven't been any studies comparing daily vs every other day dosing of prometrium.
It is hard to say how your body will react to the Prometrium because every woman is different. But from experiences I have read, Prometrium can tend to cause breakthrough bleeding / spotting but maybe that won't be your case. Would a lower dose of Provera maybe do the trick without such heavy bleeding? Being that you are 58, it would seem you should not have to deal with this for too much longer. Best of luck to you! I am on cd25. It's been 8 months of trying and so my doc after checking progesterone last month and seeing that I am ovulating, put me on aygestin this month starting on cd18. So I've been on it a wk and some then have been crazy bloated which I've read is a side effect of that pill so I'm not gonna assume it's a pregnancy symptom.
I was taking 5 mg of norethindrone (aygestin) for endometriosis. The bleeding stopped almost entirely. Now I've lost my insurance, and my OB won't see self-pay patients. I tried appling for the"planning for healthy families" thing our state does to help provide birth control to low income families, but they won't give me this medication as it isn't an actual birth control.
Maybe I will ask him to add prometrium in addition to crinone. Originally he had prescribed only prometrium but it was a vaginal suppository. I did not know you can get those in pills, maybe I should ask for that

As a preventative measure, my RE prescribed prometrium for me. I was a little squeamish about taking the suppositories so I received the tablet form. I need to take 2 tablets 3x a day.
I'm looking at the bottle right now and I'm a feeling anxious about it. I'm worried about the possible side affects. I'm scared about fooling around with my hormone levels. Please, please tell me I'm being silly.
Then I begain bleeding very heavily, which continued for three weeks until my doctor put me on Aygestin for 30 days. I began bleeding again during the last few days of the hormones and have continued for over 2 weeks now, even though it has slowed down considerably.

I've been doing some research on prometrium . I was prescribed prometrium since the month of Feb. In Feb.,I ovulated with the help of clomid and prometrium. My progesterone levels were 34. In March my cycle never came and I contacted my Dr on Apr. 9 letting her know I never had my cycle. She schedule me to take some test to take . On 14 my cycle visited and was very weird . her instructions for the prometrium is to take on cycle day 16 and continue to take until a cycle comes.
ve had spotting way before prd was due and for a few days after .my doc put me on aygestin last month to help lengthen the luteal phase and I had a 32 day cycle due to that (after cycles of 25-27 days) what day would u consider ur projected period to come on and therefore test if it doesn't come? That was the only month it was longer than 28 days..
No symptoms if I was to spot :), other than larger boobs and bloatedness but who knows maybe I did put on weight?
Yes you can still have it done. They put my on BC for I believe 2-3 weeks before it. However, my body didn't react normally to it (of course) lol...and I kept my AF the WHOLE 3 weeks. Anyway, they were able to do the lap! It was a little embarassing to me...but basically they layed this big blue pad looking thing under me and I put a normal pad in between my legs (sorry to sound so graphic).
I was in prometrium 200mg once a day with my 3rd pregnancy..and still i m/c at 17&1/2 weeks.. and i stopped taking the prometrium at my 15&1/2weeks( i should only take them for 12 weeks, but my dr told me to continued the left pills..) still don't know the reason why,, if it's bec. i stopped taking the progesterone supplement or there is some thing else..
I am supposed to stop my prometrium when I'm 10w which is this thursday, but I have read that some people have miscarried because ur body is not making enough progesterone of its own. I been trying to get preggo for almost 4 yrs and to miscarried now would be devestating. I have also heard that if ur preggo with twins which I am its good to keep taking the prometrium to minimize the chances of premature labor.
