Yea i took it with my daughter and shes amazing and healthy it really did help alot too.

Any moms been prescribed Zofran for nausea?? Did baby come out with any problems? I have been seeing a lot of bad commercials about this and birth defects....

I would highly recommend Zofran. It is used for nausea and it works WONDERS! They have other drugs likes Phenergan and Compozine, but the side effects are long and AWFUL (I know because I have taken both). I just looked at the med fact on Zofran and while it doesn't say much about breastfeeding while taking Zofran, there aren't any known problems with taking it during pregnancy.

Not to scare anyone at all but I just saw an ad stating that if you took Zofran during your pregnancy and your baby was born with a birth defect like heart problems or cleft palate/lip, then you may be eligible for compensation. This is just a informational post for any mommies who may be taking Zofran and also for mommies who took Zofran and gave birth to a baby with any defects.

I've done some reading on taking melatonin while pregnant, and most of it is contradicting both sides have good points, and make sense whether it's safe to take during pregnancy or not. I've never taken it, even though I've had sleep problems all my life, and during pregnancy sleeping is even more difficult for me. My question is: have any of you ladies taken melatonin while pregnancy, and if so did it help? Did I cause any problems?

Well you're probably stressed out from all the puking. Zofran with every meal? Omg you will be so constipated mama. I feel for you. Keep your fluids up--Gatorade, juice, anything. And eat anything that stays down. Good things to try to keep down are proteins & carbs--fruit smoothies, hard boiled eggs, chicken, etc. Even if you can drink a milkshake it will help. Try cold foods vs hot foods.

I took zofran with my first born and he was born fine, the media is over doing it. If your ob feels its safe they can perscribe it, if not they will provide a alternative.

So my doctor prescribed me some nausea medicine called zofran and I was watching a commercial on tv and it was talking about how babies are being born with birth defects after using the nausea medicine zofran. So should I stop taking it and find other ways to deal with the nausea ? or should I continue to use it if my doctor recommended it.

I am taking zofran and it's perfectly safe and a class b drug. The ads on tv are just lawyers trying to get money for a case they can't prove. The birth defects they state are the most common among all babies born no matter a family history or not. Don't be afraid to take it if you need it. If you are that afraid though, look up the study of 600,000 pregnant women in denmark in 2013 that proved it was safe.

I am 35+5 and I took zofran at the beginning of my pregnancy. I have heard awful things about birth defects recently and now I am worried. Are there any mommies out there that have had any positive or negative experiences with zofran?

My doctor gave me a Zofran substitute because the original was said to cause horrible side effects to the baby. But of course nothing is perfect and not worth risking my baby, so I stopped taking the substitute and have just been dealing with the throwing up (I'm now 33 weeks and I've thrown up since the first few days of being pregnant. It ***** but its not impossible to deal with).

she just was in the hospital for un related issues and now they gave her zofran and shes 8 months old so im pretty sure it must be pretty safe if they gave it to her

Ask for zofran. I have been using it during my pregnancy and it really is quick and effective. But eating small meals throughout the day can also help to naturally combat nausea.

How many of you ladies are still taking zofran? My morning sickness is terrible. I'm 15 weeks and I throw up at least 5 times a day unless I take zofran and I've tried everything else and nothing works. But I know my doctor like personally and she assured me that it was safe and if it were her she would take it. I've lost about 30 pounds and only gained back 7 so she's worried about my weight. And I've lost it because of nausea. So how many Andre still taking it?

m 12 weeks with my second and have taken zofran with both pregnancies. Other meds and natural remedies did not work and i have had iv hydration twice with this pregnancy.

My son that is presently 16 years old was born with cleft of lip and soft palate and also had a heart murmor for the first year of his life. Genetic testing was performed in new orleans la to determine if the cleft was a hereditary case. Test results revealed that my sons case was said to be an isolated case meaning that he was not born with this birth defect from hereditary reasons. For many years i have struggled with the mental issue of what did i do to cause this to my child?

ve taken Zofran, and it was the only med helped me with my nausea. I talked to my doctor about it cause I did see the TV commercials about it but my Doc said that patients that had taken Zofran had healthy babies so I'm not to worried. Besides can't believe everything you hear.

Just curious. I've been taking zofran through out my entire pregnancy to help with nausea. I'd take only one in the morning and I'd never feel sick or throw up at all. Now that I'm 36 weeks, I throw up at least once a day and it's always unexpected. The zofran isn't working anymore :/ anyone go through this too?

I took every form of Zofran, Phenergan, and even Thorazine (and eventually had a PICC line and TPN) during my first pregnancy. Sometimes you have to make sure your baby survives first by getting you through. By the way, she's perfectly healthy. I have also been taking it during this pregnancy and I know that I would have ended up on IV fluids without it.

I have also taken it on and off with this pregnancy because I was sick from week 5 to week 20 and then again from week 32 to now (39 weeks).

I loved on it for my first pregnancy and my son was born with an enlarged kidney. Luckily it doesnt seem to effect him now but whose to say later in life.

I'm not sure but I took it all through my pregnancy with my son and he was just fine and I just now stopped taking it this pregnancy with my twins it was the only thing that would some what help with me

I would have loved for the "nausea" to just have lasted a "few weeks" with HG it's a completely different story hunny. When your so sick you can't get out of bed throwing up 15 plus times a day and losing more than 20 lbs in about 4 weeks... that more than ***** and requires medical intervention. To each their own. Just because you decided to forgo Zofran cause you were lucky enough to just have a little nausea doesn't mean everyone is that lucky.
