I also take guaifenesen for excess phlegm. Drinking lots and lots of water is really halpful as Tammy said. I would think that the phlegm is from inflammation. What kind of steroids were/are you on? I found that the dry powders caused phlegm for me. I don very well with the HFA versions. If you were on a dry powder, you might have been having problems with the milk by products in them keeping your peak flow down.

my doctor prescribed me "proair hfa albuterol sulfate", "atrovent hfa ipratropium bromide , and "qvar beclomethasone diproionate hfa" will this go away on its own eventually?

ve lived in the same town my whole life and no change in living conditions. My doctor prescribed me Pro Air HFA. Immediately I was using it more than the recommended amounts. It makes me very jittery and makes my hands shake. When I came in I was told to keep using it and then prescribed Qvar. The Qvar gave me debilitating headaches. Hello. I'm 16, 5'6 and 118lbs. I've had asthma since I was little and I just got a diagnosis that it was moderate persistent asthma but has worsened since I've had that diagnosis so I'm sure it's severe now. I'm on Advair 250/20 as a preventor and I have Ventolin HFA as a rescue inhaler. I take Advair twice a day, but sometimes forget to take it. I don't believe it helps prevent any symptoms or attacks whatsoever.

I don't know what inhaler was prescribed for you, but "rescue' (acts quickly) inhalers such albuterol can cause palpitations and arrhythmias. But this reaction is rare as long as you use the recommended dosage. Steroid inhalers are maintenance inhalers meant to prevent asthma attacks. They do not have cause palpitations and arrhythmias.

g montelukast, ventolin inhaler and symbicort. Xray for the sinus and chest were also ordered which resulted to bilateral nasal congestion and clear chest. I don't know whether you have asthma or anxiety but I can tell you what I do know. Please only take the Advair like the dr. prescribed. Only 4 puffs per day! Advair is only a maintence drug which will only help you over time but it is not an emergency inhaler (like ventolin or proair). Advair if not taken as prescribed can make things worse and can make you very ill. Please never take more than the 4 puffs per day. Anxiety can do really bizarre things to people.

I am struggling on what to do. It gets so bad that I have to hold my chest and rub the area to calm the pain.

Then when they get sick they will layer the stand alone ICS. They supplement the combo ICS with a stand alone ICS like Asmanex. Another reason doctors may do this is to include a small particle ICS in the therapy like Alvesco. I was in the second group. I hope that helps some. God bless.

My Lungs are functioning at 60% So they change my meds around to Advair HFA and some Predsione to take for a week and then come back in two weeks reteake the breathing test to see if it improve. What can be going on with my Lungs I never smoke in my life. I'm so tired of this I just want to breathe better that's all.

Why would you say that you have to take him out of school? Does your son have an IEP or 504? Does he have a BIP set up for him at school? Has he had an educational evaluation?

My 6 year old grandaughter often has to take Xopenex HFA for asthma related issues. It makes her extremely irritable, she has a bad temper and in general is very mooddy? Is this a side affect?

Levosalbutamol Tartrate-50mcg;Absolute alcohol-7.4% v/v suspended in propellant HFA)....i feel problem in breathing 2-3 times a day and i take a dose and taking it for 7-8 years and also have much mucus developed....but "i feel drowsy and headache after taking each dose"..i have to take a light sleep to gain the freshness...what should i do, should i change my inhaler or consult doc.????
