Hello. I hope you've made it to a hospital by now. But if you're reading this later, I wanted to share some thoughts. I'm going to assume that you've overdosed on purpose. As you are taking Pristiq I assume you suffer from clinical depression. From reading your post, I understand you clearly don't want to die. Which is good. It's a shame you had to overdose on Pristiq to understand this, but if you are reading this, you are very lucky and it wasn't too late.

if someone took an overdose of pristiq and vyvanse between 1 and 230 this afternoon wld the worst of the symptons be over or could there still be life threatening symptons

I ended up on 100Mgs a day with Pristiq and took it for a good 5 months, it worked ok, but not well enough to cover my symptoms. I then got off Pristiq. (I must tell you that the withdrawl from Pristiq is very strong. MUCH worse than even with Cymbalta or Effexor. My best results were with Effexor XR (a couple years before the Cymbalta and pristiq problem) Effexor XR just worked much better.

I had been taking 150mg of Effexor and switched down to 50mg of Pristiq. I am happy to report no withdrawal symptoms at all, even though my doseage was lowered considerably. (I think, if I remember right ~but don't know for absolutely sure~50mg Pristiq = 100 mg Effexor XR). It was a smooth and easy transition. Mentally, I've noticed no difference either. Ive developed headaches and am severly tired...Ive been off the pristiq for three weeks....should i have tapered off the pristiq first even though they are suppose to be the same??? help please i dont know what to do and i cant take it anymore...

I am on Armour Thyroid for Hypothyroidism, Pristiq for depression, Protonix for GERD and HRT. I know the Pristiq can cause it, but the dry mouth started years after I started the Pristiq. I just sent my doctor an email questioning whether Thyroid problems can cause dry mouth. Anyone have any ideas or answers? Thanks!

I tried Pristiq in an attempt to help with menopausal symptoms. I was (and am) on Effexor XR, and Pristiq is almost identical to Effexor XR. I think the only difference is in their molecules. I didn't find Pristiq any better (for me) than Effexor XR, so I went back to Effexor XR. I wish you the best of luck with it. I hope it works for you.

Pristiq is ''the new Effexor'' it is normal that you are suffering from withdrawal symptoms as the chemical you get from Pristiq is not exactly the same as Effexor as it's a metabolite of Effexor. There is no miracle cure for withdrawal symptoms but since you are on Pristiq the withdrawal should not last long.

My partner has just stopped taking Cymbalta (60 mg after 3 + years) and started taking Pristiq (50 mg). She has been on it for 6 days and she has had diarrhea and vomiting for 3 out of those 6 days. I am taking 50mg pristiq for generalized anxiety disorder brought on by my graves disease. I have notice i am becoming more combative with friends and family. I am bothered by the slightlest things and I am getting aggressive? is this due to the medication?

With you in menopause, there are a lot of possible symptoms just from that. How long have you been taking Pristiq? Did your symptoms started with taking that? I am also taking 50 mg of it. I think it causes nausea for me, plus very vivid and often bad dreams. I've never heard of that one, but it definately is from the Pristiq. Plus I suddenly had the severe depression return, lost the bad dreams and had terrible insomnia--a known side effect of going off of Pristiq.

I was prescribed Pristiq but i found out it was going to cost be around 140.00 for the prescription. I wanted to know if it was worth paying this much for?

on Monday,Sept 5th had an appoitment with Psychiatrist, and after i explained her my symptons,( i also cried,was overwhelmed) she said I had a severe depression, so she also prescribed me Pristiq 50mg one tablet per day in the morning after breakfast. it is VERY addictive and soooo many people die every day from accidental overdose. I am on Pristiq, which isnt that aggressive and it helps me sooo much with my anxiety. But I would talk to a psychiatrist or your doctor and see what they say. Good luck...

THIS IS MY 3RD DAY TAKING PRISTIQ. I AM TRYING TO FIND OUT THE BEST TIME OF THE DAY TO TAKE IT. I TOOK ZOLOFT 200 MGS. FOR 10 YEARS AND TAKE 6 MG. XANAX A DAY FOR PANIC ATTACKS. AFTER COMING OFF OF ZOLOFT I FEEL NAUSEATED, GET LIGHT-HEADED, AND HAVE ONLY SMOKED THREE CIGARETTES IN TWO FULL DAYS. I HAD TO LEAVE WORK EARLY MY FIRST DAY ON PRISTIQ FROM NAUSEA AND STOMACH PAIN, 2ND DAY I TOOK PRISTIQ, I WAS EXHAUSTED AND WENT HOME RIGHT AFTER WORK AND WENT TO BED ABOUT 6 P.

But I think this drug is more like an ssri than an snri, which is what effexor and pristiq are. Keep in mind effexor and pristiq are almost identical drugs, with pristiq just eliminating some of the molecules in order hopefully to reduce side effects but mostly to get new patent protection. It's like Celexa and Lexapro. This class of drugs is stimulating as it targets norepinephrine as well as serotonin, and is usually not used for primary anxiety as a result.

m now OFF of any Fibro meds and the only thing I take is blood pressure RX and Pristiq. My New Year Goal is to get off all MEDS - I think I would feel so much better if I could focus on improving my health naturally!

I came off Lexapro 20mg (was not working anymore) and my doctor put me on Pristiq 50mg and xanax. The pristiq is working good but after a couple of months now I am not so sure. I take the Xanax at night because it helps me sleep. I am a 45 year old male and suffer from GAD and mild deppresion. Should I try something stronger or seek therapy or what? m now on Pristiq which is Effexor metabolite. Pristiq is less side effects. Both may work differently. For me, Pristiq work better. Pristiq may also reduce sexual desire but not like Effexor. Also, it work differently from one to another. Google on Pristiq if it available where you live.

Hi Im a 28 yr old female just had a baby 4 months ago i started takin pristiq 50 mg in September because i fell into bad postpartum depression and suffered horrible anxiety my whole pregnancy.. After taking it I started feling okay I think it was more me wanting to feel better.

Just hot my thyroid levels at a good level. I switched from pristiq to cymbalta back in November. I am tired ALL the time. More than when my thyroid was out of whack. Could the cymbalta be causing this and if so, what if I took it at night?
