I was on a higher than normal dosage of Pristiq for about 8 months. Even at 100Mgs a day (that's high for Pristiq) I never did get full relief from my depression or anxiety. Granted my depression is severe, but this Pristiq just failed to help it. It's called Panvenlafaxine (kind of a sister drug to Effexor) and the two drugs have much the same structure. At one time Effexor at high dosage did help me a lot, but this Pristiq never did a damn thing to help me.

Because I felt as if my anxiety was taken care of, I decided to tackle my depression problem but doubling my pristiq dosage and start taking Welbutrin. All of a sudden my anxiety started increasing again, so after about 2 months I stopped Welbutrin...and here we are months later and my anxiety is getting worse and worse. Thats just a little background info....my question is, Should I look into taking a different medication?

m assuming that you have a competent psychiatrist, who has placed you on Pristiq and told you to reduce your dosage of Klonopin without a gradual reduction, for a particular reason(s). Don't overthink everything, just follow the advice of your provider. If you've read any of my posts, you know that I have often explained that it may take considerable time to find the right medication or combination of medications to control the symptoms of a particular disorder.

No doctor here, that's on the mental health forum, but there's no equivalency between medications really, you never know how they're going to affect you or if they're going to work at all. Equivalencies are generalizations, and you are an individual. Besides, Pristiq is a different class of drug than Lexapro. Lexapro is an ssri while Pristiq is an snri.

just gone on 6 weeks with pristiq feeling shaky inside,tired has anyone else feel shaky inside on this med is this a side effect after all this time or could it be its not working heard it can take up to 8 weeks has anyone taken it this long to work?

5mg along with the pristiq for a week, and then just pristiq. I am afraid, seeing how just being off effexor for 7 hrs. put me in E.R. The Doctor said pristiq won't do that if I miss or am late on a dose. He better be right.

Should you experience symptoms when you have dosage increase? I have been taking 75mcg for 8 days after increasing from 50 mcg. The lower dosage made me feel dizzy and so tired so endo told me to start 75 mcg. But I have been feeling a little jittery,nauseous and achy all weekend. Is it normal to have this after increase and I should try to tough it out for a few days? Or is this a reaction I should be concerned about it?

I'm on week 3 of Pristiq after Cymbalta pooped out on me after 5 successful yrs on it. First tried to switch me to Zoloft and that made me worse (February 2014). It has helped me tremendously with severe depression from my severe disabilities and pain following a major stroke. In my book, it is a miracle drug. But 400 mg is an extremely high dose. The normal dose is 50 mg, but you could possibly increase it to 100 mg IF it hasn't helped you at all after a month.
