Avatar m tn Handsfield, I have started with antiretroviral therapy in April this year after my cd4+ further declined to 480 and viral load remained very high at 800,000 even after 6 months after exposure. I am currently on combination of Truvada, Prezista and Norvir which I take regularly every 24 hours. I feel much better than before meds, from time to time I have soar throat, nothing serious though. I didnt notice any significant side effects except temporary diarrhoea.
446474 tn?1446347682 * Boceprevir reduced average trough concentrations of ritonavir-boosted atazanavir (Reyataz), lopinavir (Kaletra), and darunavir (Prezista) by 49%, 43% and 59%, respectively. * On average, reductions of 25% to 36% were seen in peak concentration of the three drugs, when given with boceprevir, along with declines of 34% to 44% in exposure (area under the curve).
Avatar m tn Assuming you are talking about an outpatient office, where the patient has voluntarily scheduled an appointment, if the psychiatrist believes it medications are indicated in his or her medical opinion, and the patient is agreeable, they often prescribe on the first visit. However, if the patient prefers to obtain a second opinion before consenting to such, or simply does not wish to take medication, the patient has every right to say walk away.
Avatar f tn Great information MO...Thanks.
691587 tn?1228900037 I echo what the others wrote. Often at just about this time the treatment hits you like a ton of bricks. Also, much of the time the side effects get better. But this awful phase could last a month, which will seem like a lifetime. The advice the others gave is good. Try to drink liquids and throw nutrition out the window. Eat any damn thing that tastes palatable. Good luck. This is very shocking, isn't it? For myself, I was flat on my back at week 12 and lost 10 lbs in two weeks.
Avatar f tn Now, on the old chart when you first started going to your original doctor, you may have filled out info that had your hubby as a contact for them, or allowed them to leave messages at your phone number. Sometimes that can accidently give out info that you might not be happy about. You can change your contact info at the office any time. Now, the doctors can certainly talk about you; you can't stop that.
382218 tn?1341181487 Here are a couple of potential avenues for you pursue, if you need them later on. I'm not sure of your neuro's affiliation but I assume that Patient Relations for Captial Health Region would be applicable. If not, there is also the provincial Ombudsman as a possibility, in the event that your next attempts for help are unsuccessful. db1 Capital Health Patient Relations http://www.capitalhealth.
293157 tn?1285873439 When you have a heart stent, they are usually drug eluting stents (vs metallic stents) and require the patient to go onto a maintenance dose of Plavix (or similar anti-coagulant) to keep blood from *sticking* to the stent and causing blockage. What is the protocol post-stent for these in the brain? I am defnitely NOT a fan of plavix - there are tons of side effects, especially bruising at the slightest touch and profuse bleeding if you cut or scrape yourself.
Avatar m tn Do all you can to work on and resolve your issues as an out-patient. As an in-patient, you are more closely monitored.
Avatar n tn You need to get to a gyn fast and see about getting a CT scan. Who is treating you for the cystic lesion? Is it being regularly monitored?
Avatar m tn So the results were that 131 of the 139 patients saw improvement in at least 12 if not all 16 symptoms with the addition of a relatively small amount of T4. That is astounding. Shows that especially TSH is almost completely useless. And is further evidence of what we read and "see" here by patient after frustrated patient reporting the Dr's won't treat them yet they have symptoms and call them hypocondiracs instead of properly diagnosing them was hypo thyroid.
Avatar n tn The FDA provides a patient education website on most commonly used drugs and you can get more information on Omeprazole here http://www.fda.gov/AboutFDA/CentersOffices/OfficeofMedicalProductsandTobacco/CDER/ucm220956.htm If you have specific questions that this does not address, let us know.
1933038 tn?1382517085 Many centers here in the US will wait until the patient develops stage 2 liver disease and then treat them. Also most centers are waiting for data from new non-interferon based treatments in post transplant patients as response rates are low post transplant (30% with peg-interferon and riba) and doctors need to be cautious to not create any new problems in post transplant patients.
Avatar n tn The presentation is due this Friday and I will need the info by Wednesday night to put in a power point and go over the info with my group members. You would be a lifesaver if you could help me out. I will leave the interview questions on the message if you are interested and please be as detailed as possible. 1. Age and Gender 2. Symptoms first experienced and the age of onset. 3. Symptoms you have now and when they began. 4. How is the condition limiting your activities/life style? 5.
645390 tn?1338555377 They will accept what the insurance gives, and will not expect any more from the patient. The nurse said, the rest of the injectables will follow (Copaxone, Rebif, Avonex). They "always" follow each other to stay competitive. That is a GREAT thing.I hope she was/is right.
Avatar n tn I am just looking for extra advice as the doctor was not very helpful regarding info. Should I be worried about the girl having bacteria or is urethral bacteria normal? Why did this bacteria appear on the urethral swab but urine analysis was clean? Thanks for your help.
Avatar f tn I am looking for some creditable web sites or books on thyroid hormone replacement drugs. Looking for issues for and against. I am writing a paper for school. any info would be helpful.
Avatar n tn Just would like to thank Hector, Dee, Purplecat? for any and all information. I've been doing research on treatments and Clinic's and after awhile it all gets confusing but am printing off info that I send on to my Son. I've known for some time that Milk Thistle helps repair the liver and his doctor has had him taking that so he will be better prepared for the treatment which should start here pretty soon.
Avatar m tn My endo says that the ideal range for a hashi patient would be a TSH of .50-1.0, and absolutely how you feel is just as important if not most important.
