Has anyone used Premarin to help jump start their period? And if so, how long did it take? I am on it for 25 days (Premarin) and then starting the aygestin after the 16th day.

Hi, my name is Chanel and i've been on my period for about 3 weeks now and i just left the doctor's office. She prescribed premarin to help stop the bleeding but i'm very skeptical about taking it. I looked it up online and the side-effects are very frightening. The last time this happened, I was prescribed vitamin K to stop the bleeding. Can someone please clarify exactly what premarin is and how it is going to stop this bleeding?

After that, I was on the patch for one month, and decided to go off in hopes my AF would return so I could start trying to conceive. It did not come..... until this weekend!! I was on Premarin since July 1st (doc prescribed 25 days worth to get AF going), and then it came. Friday it was spotting, Saturday it was full swing, Sunday it was a little lighter, and now nothing. I'm assuming this was my AF as I had a flow and cramps and the whole thing.

m surprised your doctor did not tell you to use protection (condom, diaphragm) until you are ready to get pregnant since Premarin does not prevent pregnancy... I wish I could be of more assistance...

I was diagnosed for missed abortion last May 17,2008 (as seen in the Ultrasound,the baby has no heart beat) i was administered a premarin 0.62 mg every 6 hours, the doctor said to soften the cervix as well as cytotec 200 mg every 8 hours. I was wondering why i should be given premarin? I have read that premarin is mainly estrogen.. Do i need to continuously use this product? They are waiting for me to bleed for them to be able to perform the D&C. Please advise asap...

Tall to your Dr about premarin. It helps you get your period an it also doesn't affect you trying to xonciece. I was on it this is my third month.

I have been reading about Premarin and it can likely cause the problem. I would like to get off Premarin and take a natural hormone replacement, or should I stay on the Premarin. What do you think about that and just how do I do that? I know I shouldn't just quit taking it suddenly.

I finally convinced my gp doctor to check my hormone levels and according to the nurse they came back normal. My gp doctor had already prescribed Premarin for me to take at .3mg. daily. I have not had a hysterectomy. He did not prescribe any type of progesterone for me to take but told me to go ahead and take the Premarin. Advised me that I should see a gyn--which I already did and they did not test my hormones at all. I have terrible hot flashes every day, insomnia, anxiety and mood changes.

Hello, I am 44. I had a complete hysterectomy ...ovaries, uterus, and cervix is all gone on Dec 1st 2015. I had a terrible case of endometriosis since I was 16. I had 7 large functional cysts which caused major problems. Since then I started Vivelle dot patch and had terrible migraines, then they switched me to estrodial patch and I thought I was having a heart attack.

Very recently I had a sudden severe dizzy spell that did not last long but, scared me so that I was afraid to go to sleep. I have noticed some joint swelling and extreme aching. Is it possible that this is a Lupus flare up!

The dr can prescribe medications such as megace to control the bleeding if severe for a short time. I have also seen IV Premarin given in the ER for severe bleeding. Just stay away from aspirin or other anticoagulants if they are not prescribed for a medical condition.

My doctor has instructed me to stop taking Premarin because of my age of 65 years due to cancer risks. I also learned that by turning 65 (in the U.S.) insurance will no longer cover. As with most women related issues, we don't count. I started Premarin after a total hysterectomy at age 35. Anyway, I'm experiencing heart palpitations, heat ache, body aches, night sweats, and loud ringing in the ears.

If it does work though, it can cause PMS type symptoms which is what I suspect you are experiencing. PMS usually improves with the start of the next period. You should have a period by CD 28 if the Clomid worked. Good luck!
