Do I need to continue taking Premarin .0625 or can I discontinue since I am past meopause age.

I took the 1/2 pill with great caution as my mom took premarin for many years and ended up with breast cancer which eventually took her life 5 years ago). I have been tortured since stopping my premarin regime. I don't think I have had a full nights sleep since - in fact last evening the first wake up was at 3:38 and then I had 5 more flashes before I finally got out of bed and started my day with more flashes. My gen practioner has suggested prozac ... sorry but that seems a bit severe.

So, it could be not the Premarin, since I take that every month, and the premarin cream I've added isn't a large amount. Are you saying that it could be related to my period itself, and the placebo pills, even adding the Premarin? Hmm, but that's monthly, too. It has a very long half life, though I can't give you specifics. The dose and how long you were on it does factor in. Your doctor should be able to help you with your questions on this.

nt count for much because I am not a Dr. There is no way I would take Premarin. There have been too many women in my life who have taken it and had problems. You do not have to take this med. There are many others out there to choose from if you and your Dr decide you need one.

My doctor, who is a OB/GYN, preformed the surgery and after placed me on Premarin. I was worried after finding out all the health issues around premerin, especially the blood clots, since my mom died of that several years after her hysterectomy. I started having very bad stinging sharp pains in my lower legs and discussed this with my doctor but he didnt take me very serious and only lowered the dosage.

Jan 6/09, Due to difficulty with dysfunctional brain (no hormones) oncologist started 0.625 mg Premarin with Tamoxifen. I noticed a steady increase of hard bowel movements and bloating in my abdomen/pelvis. Feb 17/09 (43 days later) my CA125 count was 220. I am awaiting results of ultra sound taken on Feb18th and a CT scan on my abdomen next week. Why would the CA125 count suddenly rise to 220 during the 43 days of taking the Premarin and Tamoxifen? Thank you for your answer.
