230948 tn?1235844329 Hi sweetheart...you have been missed SO MUCH. I use to be on Reuip (an anit-Parkinson drug for Restleg Syndrome) I felt like you know what on it, but I seem to have reacted to all the drugs with l-dopa and levodopa that way. So maybe it's just me. This drug combination doesn't seem to work well with my own brain chemicals. BUT, everyone is different. If you have to go on one of these drugs, would you come back over to us and tell us how it's going? We miss you, Sam.
Avatar m tn m using (Pramipexole) but I suffer a dizziness side effect. I need your help to use a medicine which have not such side effect. Thanks in advance.
Avatar n tn Dopamine agonists such as ropinirole, pramipexole, carbidopa/levodopa or pergolide are used and you have to monitor these drugs. There are some issues with the use of dopamine agonists. There are conditions where the drug itself causes symptoms to increase in severity and/or occur earlier in the day. Monitoring the adverse effects of the drug and titrating a proper dosage is important for your daughter. Take care!
Avatar m tn Medications used are iron supplements, carbidopa- levodopa, opioids, carbamazepine, clonazepam, baclofen, temazepam, bromocriptine etc. other drugs are ropinirole, pramipexole or mirapex you are already taking, gabapentin etc also can be tried under .your neurologist prescription. Other alternatives are warm/cold baths, electric nerve stimulation, oral magnesium, and acupuncture . Anxiety may aggravate symptoms and needs to be controlled. Take care.
Avatar f tn m going to have to go through my supplements and meds. The only new med is the Pramipexole .05 twice a day (Mirapex). The supplements are Sam-E, D 2000, A and Magnesium 250 twice a day. I'm going to cut the Pramipexole to once a day. Does anyone see if any one of these would cause this or is there a virus going around?
Avatar m tn Has anyone tried Pramipexole (Mirapex, Mirapexin, Sifrol) for chronic pain? I have had low back pain for about 15 years now. I finally got someone to do an MRI back in June (I think, it was slightly before summer 2016) and they found a herniated disc at L4-L5 and a degenerated disc at L5-S1. The neurosurgeon decided surgery wasn't worth the risk and pain treatment was the best option.
Avatar f tn Has anyone used a patch? The only med I take is pramipexole.
Avatar f tn I finally froze up in the doorway at church. I told my Neuro and he said that I had Parkinson’s. Started me on entacapone, levodopa, carbidopa, and pramipexole and I still didn’t feel or get better January 2017 my neurologist and I decided to go with natural treatment and was introduced to Green House Herbal Clinic natural Parkinson’s disease Herbal formula, i had a total decline of symptoms with this Parkinson’s Herbal formula treatment.
Avatar f tn However, most of the doctors felt that the frequency of the tremor, 10 Hz doesn’t suggest it. Also, in trying Cararbidopa-levodopa, 25-100MG tablet, which should have stopped the tremor, if it was Parkinson’s, did nothing but made me nauseous. It had no affect on the tremor. Speaking of medicines, to date, I have been prescribed the following medications with literally no results.
1192491 tn?1265031829 Currently, there is a generic available for Mirapex (Pramipexole) and it is made by TEVA pharmaceuticals. It comes in the 0.125mg, 0.25mg, 0.5mg, 1mg, and 1.5mg strength tablets.
Avatar m tn My husband is taking clonazepam .05, Lomtrigine 200 mg and pramipexole dihydrochloride 0.25 for depression, anxiety and RLS. He hasn't been able to get out of bed lately and has missed a lot of work. Could this excessive sleepiness be due to the combination of these drugs? It is not that he doesn't want to get out of bed, it's almost as if he is drugged, which led to my question. This is not normal.
1359186 tn?1277435233 Hi, Thank you very much for your question. Usually cause of RLS is unknown, but it is essential that you consult your treating doctor before decreasing or stopping the recommended dose. Other reasons of RLS could be rheumatoid arthritis, kidney failure, diabetes or any underlying heart disorder. The leg pain of RLS typically eases with movement of the legs and becomes more evident at rest. Therefore, medicine dosage is usually prescribed before going to bed.
Avatar n tn Hi there. Sinemet or levodopa is used in the management of parkinsonism especially bradykinesia and rigidity apart from restless leg syndrome. though sinemet is the most effective medication and has least short term side effects, it is associated with high risks of long term side effects like involuntary movements or dyskinesia. Long term basis it may cause restlessness, confusion and abnormal movements. Take care.
Avatar n tn We have a prescription for Levodopa as well from our neurologist but we need to wait 2 months after the toxin before starting the treatment. I really want to have your precious opinion about this and if there are any experimental studies where my husband can join. What is your opinion about botulin toxin? Is there any chance to cure focal dystonia?
Avatar n tn I take that for PD too. It can lower your blood pressure and effect you especially when you stand up from sitting or bending down. you should speak to your neurologist about this.
Avatar n tn Please can one of the doctors help me. I desperately need sleep because I have been plagued by this horrible infliction for the past 2 months now. It can keep me awake most of the night & sleep only comes early morning when this funny horrible sensation subides. My doctor has offered me tablets called Pramipexole/Mirapexin but I understand they are a brain blocker & I only take them when I am absolutely desperate.
Avatar n tn It might be restless leg syndrome. RLS is most likely to involve lower extremities but can involve other body parts as well. I got a bad case of it towards the end of my last tx, 48 weeks of triple tx with Incivek. The RLS hit me at about week 36 and continued until about a week after I quit the meds. My internist prescribed a small dose of Pramipexole (a Parkinson's drug) for it but I hated the way it made me feel.
Avatar f tn Head trauma can cause and exacerbate Parkinson's disease. You do not have to hit your head on an object (steering wheel, windshield) to injure the brain. Even at moderate rates of speed, traumatic brain injuries can and do occur. Three separate processes work to injure the brain: bruising (bleeding), tearing, and swelling. Parkinson's may be suspected in patients with the following symptoms: Slowness and difficulty of movement.
Avatar m tn I get tremors in my left arm. I went to a neurologist and he said it could be early onset of Parkinsons .He put me on levodopa and it wasn't helping so he took me off of it. So I was just wondering if anyone had termors associated with cubital tunnel.
Avatar n tn Have you been put on a new medication recently that may be adding to the increase in tremors? Tremors are a result of imbalance dopamine in the body and usually medications such as levodopa or Anticholinergic drugs-such as Atropine, Atrovent, Oxivent, Spiriva, and Rubinol are used to treat them. Nicotine counteracts anticholinergic medications. If the tremors are alcohol related then detox is necessary to decrease them. I Hope This Helps. Good Luck and God Bless!
Avatar f tn Yesterday my doctor prescribed me Mirapex Pramipexole Dihydrochloride tablets 0.125mg. I took two before bed and no RLS! I slept for 12 hours! BTW I'm down to one 10mg oxyneo and one 5mg oxtcocet. Staying like this for another day and than hitting ground zero tomorrow. Praying it won't be to bad, but with this new med for RLS I think I'm gong to be OK.
Avatar n tn Also, I have been diagnosed with high blood pressure. I am currently taking levodopa and adalat xl and my blood pressure is controlled with restricted activity (140's/80's). However, when I walk short distances ie: bathrrom or kicthen my blood pressure shuts up to 160's/90's and above. What should be my next step medically? I am being monitored weekly for my platlet levels and liver enzymes, I guess when those go abnormal I would be delivering my baby.
Avatar f tn Supplements of iron/vitamin also help some. Sometimes medications such as levodopa, bromocriptine, oxycodone may be tried to provide some relief from the symptoms. Avoiding alcohol, caffeine, and nicotine may partly relieve your symptoms. Other useful measures are stretching, alternate hot and cold packs or baths, massage and applying vibrators on the feet and legs before bedtime. Relaxation and meditation can also help. Consult a sleep specialist. Hope this helps. Take care!
