Avatar m tn Can Cabergoline .25MGS twice weekly and Wellbutrin 100 MGS sr once daily be taken together? I know one is a dopamaine agonist and the other a dopamine reputake inhibitor. keep in mind both are low doses and I want to see if its safe before asking my doctor to prescribe it.
Avatar f tn Hello I was wondering about my treatment on Cabergoline. I had an MRI taken because I had high prolactin levels it was discovered that I had a tumor 13 mm in my pituitary gland. I was prescribed Cabergoline and have been taking it since Dec.
Avatar f tn m going to have to go through my supplements and meds. The only new med is the Pramipexole .05 twice a day (Mirapex). The supplements are Sam-E, D 2000, A and Magnesium 250 twice a day. I'm going to cut the Pramipexole to once a day. Does anyone see if any one of these would cause this or is there a virus going around?
Avatar m tn Has anyone tried Pramipexole (Mirapex, Mirapexin, Sifrol) for chronic pain? I have had low back pain for about 15 years now. I finally got someone to do an MRI back in June (I think, it was slightly before summer 2016) and they found a herniated disc at L4-L5 and a degenerated disc at L5-S1. The neurosurgeon decided surgery wasn't worth the risk and pain treatment was the best option.
Avatar f tn Has anyone used a patch? The only med I take is pramipexole.
Avatar f tn Hi. I have been diagnosed with Pituitary Adenoma. I am currently on Cabergoline. I have been taking it for 9 months now. My doctor is gradually decreasing the frequency of my medicine because my prolactin level is below normal. After starting the medicine, my period became normal and regular but for the last 3 months I have been experiencing prolonged bleedings and this month heavy bleeding with clots. I was wondering if any you experienced the same thing? Thanks!
1580703 tn?1651904887 My blood tests showed prolactin of about 29 double the 15 max level. Does this mean I have a pituitary tumor? I was able to get some cabergoline for one month only but can't afford to buy it.
Avatar n tn I have been diagnosed with Prolactinoma ( 0,5 cm) 4 years ago. My Endo prescribed me Cabergoline 0,5 mg per week. From the very beginning I had strong side effects such as low blood pressure, fatigue, dizziness, depressive mood, abdominal pains and anxiety. Even after few months those side effects didn't get better, so my life was just no life anymore. Prolactin levels were after few weeks of Cabergoline normal, in the lower norm range.
1192491 tn?1265031829 Currently, there is a generic available for Mirapex (Pramipexole) and it is made by TEVA pharmaceuticals. It comes in the 0.125mg, 0.25mg, 0.5mg, 1mg, and 1.5mg strength tablets.

Avatar m tn My husband is taking clonazepam .05, Lomtrigine 200 mg and pramipexole dihydrochloride 0.25 for depression, anxiety and RLS. He hasn't been able to get out of bed lately and has missed a lot of work. Could this excessive sleepiness be due to the combination of these drugs? It is not that he doesn't want to get out of bed, it's almost as if he is drugged, which led to my question. This is not normal.
Avatar n tn I, myself had hyper prolactinoma with a pituitary adenoma that prevented me from ovulating hence not getting pregnant. I was put on Cabergoline (Dostinex) 1/2 a pill twice a week and increased to 1 pill twice a week three months later. I'm assuming my prolactin went down because I'm now 8 weeks pregnant.
Avatar m tn I am taking cabergoline for microprolactinoma. Overall it’s been very effective, and I tolerate it well, with one exception. 72 hours after taking the medication (.5 mg pill), I manifest what appear to be withdrawl symptoms. This has occurred since my very first dose, and was quite surprising to me when it first occurred. It feels very similar to withdrawal symptoms from an SSRI, or something along those lines.
Avatar n tn I am on cabergoline now and wonder if it will help it. Could it have been a decrease in estrogen? My hair seems thinner and "off" Can prolactin also affect allergies? my skin is also blotchy now and my allergies seem crazy.
Avatar f tn Hello, I've recently been diagnosed with 2 prolactinomas after going for help about producing breast milk and gaining weight without eating. I've been assured that the cabergoline will shrink the tumours but I'm concerned about the weight gain. Doctors don't have answers other than the prolactinomas could be affecting my hormones causing me to retain water weight. I've gained about 2 stone and really am not eating anything that would cause that I am also very active.
Avatar n tn all the symptoms were there before i started cabergoline, the only thing ive noticed since starting cabergoline is ive lost a good bit of weight and im starting to ger facial hair and more hair on my body in general and acne lol i must be hitting puberty now.
Avatar f tn I having my period after 2 months of treatment of cabergoline very heavy bledding and large blood clod for five days .Its that normal? I have miss period on the past with negative results of blood pregnancy test..
Avatar f tn I have been successfully treating a prolactinoma with cabergoline for the last 4 years. Tumor is now gone, but I still take a low dose of cabergoline to manage my hyperprolactinemia which is still present. A month ago, I decided to try going back on a birth control pill (talked about it with my endocrinologist first) after 2 years of dealing with a painful IUD.
231441 tn?1333892766 Sorry for dely in response. I do take cabergoline, but since I have been on it one year, they may switch me to to bromo to see how that will help... my echocardiogram came back with some minor valve regurgitation... so my endo may worry it's from the cabergoline. Everytime I go a week or more without medication (cabergoline is once a week medication) I begin lactating again... so good news is, I really wouldnt have to induce it.
Avatar m tn I was put on Cabergoline to treat a pituitary micoradenoma. It worked great; my prolactin level went way down and my testosterone shot up. I felt great! I'm about to have my 6 month follow up, and I just had my blood tested. My prolactin is down, but my testosterone is now down to pre-treatment levels. Explanation? I am going to ask my endocrinologist to put me on testosterone. Pre-treatment: Prolactin: 37.2 ug/L Testosterone: 12.1 nmo/L 2 months after starting Cabergoline: Prolactin: 18.

Avatar f tn I am assuming you have a lesion that would respond to the medication. Most lesions respond and it is a good first medication to try. When I had my prolactinoma, it was not around my only option was bromo. They both have side effects and everyone is different in how they feel on it. So take it easy. The side effects can and should lessen over time. The doc should monitor to make sure the tumor is indeed shrinking and increase and decrease the dose accordingly.
Avatar m tn an my prolactine level was 33.i continued cabergoline 0.25 for 2 months and in the last month the level was 0.5.but my gyno told me to continue cabergoline. so i m now on it.but in the first month of using the medicine my period was late and was in normal heavy flow.but this month it was very light. i have done my tvs 3 months ago and everything was normal except the prolactine level.
Avatar f tn I started having morbid thoughts about death after 4 months of cabergoline. I started having SEVERE panic attacks about 7 months in. My doctor said the same thing, " It's not the medication." This is BS. I have NEVER had a problem w/panic attacks, being afraid to die, etc. I am a 27 year old stable person and this medication makes me crazy. Avoid all caffeine & alcohol as this makes the panic worse.
Avatar f tn To make a long story short, I have been treated with both Bromocriptine (which I could not tolerate due to Rhinitis and Dizziness) and with Cabergoline. I have had trouble with the Cabergoline (headaches and dizziness) but seem to be able to tolerate .25 mg 2xweek. After taking that dose for 2 years, I went in for a Prolactin level and updated MRI. My Prolactin was at 137 and my tumor has grown to 9mm. My Dr tried to increase my meds to a full pill (.
8149410 tn?1399084012 Preparing for my first MRI since starting Cabergoline about 6 months ago. My adenoma was 6-7 mm and prolactin is now in normal range down from 163. Can I expect any decrease in tumor size? Afraid to get my hopes up.
Avatar f tn I have a 3mm pit tumor that secretes prolactin. Endo-neuro put me on cabergoline in March. Since then my symptoms and blood work have changed. I have bouts of high anxiety often and hyper pigmentation on my skin. The caber is lowering prolactin nicely (22.5) but now i have higher blood cortisol levels (21.5), lower end of scale z score (-1.8) and IGF-1. Dr is sending me for 24 hour urine and midnight saliva test.
