Pramipexole and restless legs syndrome

Common Questions and Answers about Pramipexole and restless legs syndrome

mirapex

Avatar n tn You could try to reduce stress and help in relaxing muscles with warm baths, gentle stretching exercises and massage. Low doses of pramipexole has been prescribed by some and found effective. If you have disrupted sleep you could be prescribed anti parkinsonism medicines tranquilisers etc. you may also require iron supplements if iron deficiency is the cause of this. You would need a neurologist’s consultation ideally. Hope this helps. Take care.
Avatar m tn I am a 39 year old male that has suffered for years with restless legs, leg/joint pain, both of which have caused many sleepless nights. The pain is more noticeable during weather changes (doesn't matter if its warm to cold or cold to warm). My legs twitch almost constantly and is very noticeable especially when sleeping, I have been told i have had my legs have spasmed to my chest. I have also had multiple arthroscopic knee surgeries due to a parachuting accident when i was younger.
Avatar f tn It is possible that you have myoclonus and not restless legs I would see your doctor and ask to be referred to a neurologist for confirmation.
Avatar f tn I am pretty sure this is neurological. First, I have had restless legs syndrome since I was little. It has gotten worse as I have gotten older. I am 45 now. I can get it just in my legs or whole body. It isn't pain, just creepy crawly and I take meds. For awhile now, maybe over a period of 10 years, I have noticed that I am super hypersensitive to touch, especially my legs which can cause them to start "acting up".
Avatar m tn I am taking it for RLS (Restless Leg Syndrome) It prevents my legs from jerking and twitching so I can sleep at night. First looking into it too see if that is something you might.
Avatar m tn I am 80 yaer old, my doctor diagnosed my case as Restless Leg Syndrome. The symptoms had started three years ago. I would like to know what is the newest up to date medicine. I'm using (Pramipexole) but I suffer a dizziness side effect. I need your help to use a medicine which have not such side effect. Thanks in advance.
Avatar m tn I feel for you. I broke my back L-1 burst fracture in an auto accident in 2003. I had surgery to put two rods and eight screws put in my back. After two years I was still in incredible pain so I had another surgery to remove the instrumentation in hopes of decreasing the pain. Well it's 11 years later and I have been in pain every day since then. I have tried everything from pain pills to physical therapy to steroid shots to chiropractic care and I'm still in pain.
1591337 tn?1297101349 Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS) is the compulsive feeling to constantly move or "pump" your legs and/or arms. I have yet found any sleeping medication that took it away. I use Mirapex, which is not a sleep med., but more a muscle relaxant. It can only be prescribed by a physician, so I recommend you see your doctor for this complaint.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know how to deal with restless leg syndrome? I guess that's what I have, idk. But I can't sleep because my legs won't stop moving and it's really frustrating. I'm to the point of crying because I'm so dang sleepy.
1506051 tn?1317731817 I have had a lot of rls since I have been off opiates almost 2 months and I swear by the heating pad, I use 2 of them one on thighs and one on lower legs, I love it!!!! 214607 tn?1287677559 Hi, i cant believe your Dr doesnt know what you are talking about when you say you have restless leg syndrome. I know exactly what you mean im going on week 39 and i have had restless leg syndrome since around month 5. Thankfully its a not a bad case and it happens when im really tired...so im usually able to fall asleep. i do not think that you can take anything for it though. Try sleeping with a pillow between your legs it helps me a little.
Avatar f tn I'm 9 weeks +5 and have HORRIBLE restless legs at night. I was just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this and if so any advice on relief? I barely get to sleep before 1am anymore and i'm miserable.
4850939 tn?1370543309 Ugh I think I have the restless legs syndrome my legs get so sore at night I cant sleep at much I toss and turn all night any advice on how to get comfy?
Avatar n tn It might be restless leg syndrome. RLS is most likely to involve lower extremities but can involve other body parts as well. I got a bad case of it towards the end of my last tx, 48 weeks of triple tx with Incivek. The RLS hit me at about week 36 and continued until about a week after I quit the meds. My internist prescribed a small dose of Pramipexole (a Parkinson's drug) for it but I hated the way it made me feel.
Avatar f tn I have really bad restless leg syndrome, and everything I have tried doesn't work to make it go away.
497760 tn?1209796059 I am writing under undiagnosed symptoms because I couldn't find a relating topic. I get this feeling in my legs where I really really need to stretch them and move them about, especially at the ankle. Sometimes it won't even let me sleep! It's a complete powerful urge to move my legs, so powerful that I don't have control on it. I had looked it up once, and came up with RLS (restless legs syndrome).
Avatar n tn Hi, Thanks for writing in. Restless leg syndrome is a common cause of painful legs. Restless leg syndrome also features worsening of symptoms during the early evening or later at night. The characteristic nighttime worsening of symptoms in persons with restless legs syndrome frequency leads to insomnia. The cause of restless leg syndrome is unknown in most patients.
Avatar f tn I heard it bad for the baby if ant hotteelr. Just warm bath and you sit in it for a little. It helps with my restless legs.
Avatar f tn I have got the worst case of RLS (Restless Leg Syndrome) ever since I hit my 7.2 month mark. I have never had this problem before then and it is making it almost impossible to sleep. I'm always so so tired when I wake up because my sleep gets interrupted every 30 minutes or so by violent leg jerking and the annoying restless feeling. I've tried putting a pillow between my legs, drinking more water, cutting caffeine, and stretching before bed but nothing seems to work.
Avatar f tn My doctor prescribed Sinemet (generic name: carbadopa/levo) 25/100mg each night, and I no longer have restless legs. I've been taking it for about 4 years now, and as far as I know, I don't have any negative side effects from it. (I know you said you prefer to balance yourself without pharmaceuticals, but if you don't find a way to do that, the Sinemet really works for me.) Sleep is SO important.
Avatar f tn Does anybody else have restless leg syndrome? I feel like I haven't slept in days.
