Treatment is only limited and directed to symptomatic relief.
Avatar f tn The last couple of days I've been REAL sick at my stomach and dizzy. I don't have any fever. I'm just wondering if it's a virus? If not I'm going to have to go through my supplements and meds. The only new med is the Pramipexole .05 twice a day (Mirapex). The supplements are Sam-E, D 2000, A and Magnesium 250 twice a day. I'm going to cut the Pramipexole to once a day. Does anyone see if any one of these would cause this or is there a virus going around?
Avatar m tn I have been reading positive things about Pramipexole helping with pain and was thinking about suggesting it to my doc to try in combo with my Hydro. I was just curious if anyone here has any experience with it or knows someone who has?
Avatar f tn Has anyone used a patch? The only med I take is pramipexole.
1192491 tn?1265031829 Currently, there is a generic available for Mirapex (Pramipexole) and it is made by TEVA pharmaceuticals. It comes in the 0.125mg, 0.25mg, 0.5mg, 1mg, and 1.5mg strength tablets.
1794411 tn?1321495731 Anti seizure drugs like gabapentin, pregabalin, dopamine agonists like pramipexole, ropinirole, and cyclobenzaprine can be used to relieve skeletal muscle spasms. Consult your neurologist for evaluation of symptoms and appropriate therapy. Hope this helps. Take care.
Avatar m tn My husband is taking clonazepam .05, Lomtrigine 200 mg and pramipexole dihydrochloride 0.25 for depression, anxiety and RLS. He hasn't been able to get out of bed lately and has missed a lot of work. Could this excessive sleepiness be due to the combination of these drugs? It is not that he doesn't want to get out of bed, it's almost as if he is drugged, which led to my question. This is not normal.
Avatar n tn I got a bad case of it towards the end of my last tx, 48 weeks of triple tx with Incivek. The RLS hit me at about week 36 and continued until about a week after I quit the meds. My internist prescribed a small dose of Pramipexole (a Parkinson's drug) for it but I hated the way it made me feel. Someone else on the forum suggested magnesium supplements and that worked great.
Avatar n tn HE PUTS LOUD MUSIC AND MAKES LOUD SOUNDS OF A SHIP HORN AND PUTS THOSE SOUNDS THROUGH A MICROPHONE, WAKES ME UP AND MY HEAD IS POUNDING WITH PAIN. CAN HIS NOISE AFFECT MY FM? CAUSE I GET WORST WHEN HE STRESSES ME OUT WITH THAT AWFUL SOUNDS HE MAKES.
Avatar m tn I am a healthy 45-male. Non-smoker. In May I began having muscle fatigue in my lower legs... both of them. Within a couple of weeks it had spread to my arms as well. Not weakness and not really pain... just a rubbery feeling like I'd been working out for hours. I've been to my primary doc, a rheumatologist, and a neuro. I have had dozens of blood tests done... all mostly normal. My neuro did a nerve test on my legs and arms. All normal. I've had an MRI of my spine... nothing.
Avatar m tn m using (Pramipexole) but I suffer a dizziness side effect. I need your help to use a medicine which have not such side effect. Thanks in advance.
Avatar f tn m down to one 10mg oxyneo and one 5mg oxtcocet. Staying like this for another day and than hitting ground zero tomorrow. Praying it won't be to bad, but with this new med for RLS I think I'm gong to be OK.
Avatar n tn She has been taking carbidopa/levadopa and had probably increased the amount she takes as she seems to have the leg and arm continuously. At the onset, she is suffering a lot of pain and discomfort. She is wondering if the arm problem has started because of the carbidopa. She has had to sleep on the floor because of her discomfort. Soma seems to relax her a bit. I guess my question is this. Is this all connected, arms and legs, or is it a symptom of something else.
573297 tn?1304709140 Does anyone have both dx and yet their pdoc doesn't believe them? I got diagnosed like 8 years ago I think (kind of don't remember...the exact time) but now this year I get dx of bipolar and my pdoc doesn't believe I have fibromyalgia...I know I have the pain....and it feels like it is coming back, and if so this is the fourth flare up (one lasting two years, one lasting 6 months to a year, one was three months because of the depo-provera shot) what do I do to get taken seriously?
230948 tn?1235844329 A that dopamine is a hormone/neurotransmitter lacking in pakinson patients and that sometimes it has been founf to be lacking in fibroymyalgia patients too and i know there are some wise people on here so thought i would pay a visit and see if i can get some info from somebody that might of tried it or knows someone who has.
Avatar n tn You could try to reduce stress and help in relaxing muscles with warm baths, gentle stretching exercises and massage. Low doses of pramipexole has been prescribed by some and found effective. If you have disrupted sleep you could be prescribed anti parkinsonism medicines tranquilisers etc. you may also require iron supplements if iron deficiency is the cause of this. You would need a neurologist’s consultation ideally. Hope this helps. Take care.
Avatar f tn Certain of its side effects also like hyperalgesia or feeling exaggerated aches and pains and hallucinations of feeling things that are not there could be contributing to your hyper sensitivity to touch. The crawling sensation arises from you falling asleep on a particular limb, a nerve entrapment syndrome, stroke, encephalitis, transverse myelitis, and multiple sclerosis can all cause crawling sensations.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia last March. Since then and after trying few different prescription(Neurontin, Cymbalta) I decided I didn't like the way they made me feel and started researching what nutritional supplements could help. I resorted to taking supplements and saw my energy level and some symptoms improve. About 4-6 weeks, I have tingling (pin & needles) in my feet going up my legs and hands. My rheumatologists suggested I see a neurologist, to rule out MS.
Avatar f tn Is fibromyalgia and hypercoaguability related? I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia--(3 years ago)--but I also have a previous pulmonary embolism. The doctor who treated my P.E., said that she had to prescribe more warfarin for me than she ever had to for any other patient in her 20 year career. She specializes in treating post-operative emboli. Every week I had my blood drawn to gauge how much my warfarin dosage should be. Every week for months it was increased.
1840891 tn?1431547793 I just wanted to share something I recently learned about yet another possible side effect of interferon, and an effective treatment for it. A month or two ago I started developing a new sleep problem (in addition to the usual one of ribavirin causing more wakefulness, so that even when extremely sleepy from my usual dose of melatonin, I was kept awake by physical fidgeting, especially with leg movement.
Avatar f tn I'm right with you.
10059661 tn?1407565170 Thought you might appreciate the info in this link. It is an interview with a good thyroid doctor. I think you will really like to know that, "If you remember it was a long time before the medical profession admitted that there were two new diseases to appear in the world that were not there before. Chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia were non-existent before 1980. This is seven years after the 1973 consensus meeting. So where did these two new diseases come from?
Avatar n tn There is no mention in any significant source about association of Benign Fasciculation Syndrome (BFS) and Fibromyalgia. There may be a possibility though, as some authorities claim a viral etiology (cause) for both these conditions. Hope you feel better soon!
489725 tn?1280052553 hello all new to this forum i have ibs for a few yrs now and was just wondering does it go hand in hand with fibromyalgia,my muscles lately are always tired esp around my shoulders and seem to get a lot of chest pain under arms comes and goes a lot at night time .even if i exercise and i do everyday my muscles ache and i am by no means over doing it.
Avatar f tn Just wondering who on the board might have diagnoses of both MS and fibromyalgia. What are your most common symptoms of both? And a question for the medical experts here: does having one of the above disorders predispose you to having the other?
