I hope someone writes in that knows more about electrolytes, but when I needed some because of being on a clear liquid diet, I was told to use Pedialyte, unflavored, which contains potassium citrate and sodium citrate.
I assume you are doing this on the advice of your doctor? What does he or she say about what you should be taking?
If you decide to try it---start very slowly and build up. Because it is in a liquid form it can be absorbed during a GP attack---but start with a very small dose at first to let your body get used to it--as it WILL get things moving again. It takes about a month to really get the magnesium into your tissues and cells, so be patient---I did notice a difference the first week on it.
Limit NSAIDs such as ADVIL--they are what really trigger GP for me.

Potassium and Calcium and important electrolytes in muscles. Potassium is one of those electrolytes you dont really want to be messed up in your body. High potassium levels can cause heart dysrrhythmias, since your heart is a big muscle, Other signs of hyperkalemia(increased potassium) are nausea vomitting, restlessness, irritability, I am looking in my book right now to make sure i can give you the most accurate information. Chloride there is not much on.
Can you tell me if the indication of change in a womens chloride level during her most fertile time of the month is directly related to the LH surge taking place? Or can you have changes in chloride levels and no LH surge? thanks!

If i cant find the liquid mag, i use the powdered form. If you are taking C, please make sure that it is in buffered form, as it can cause stomach irritation. when taking the mag and cal, make sure you are taking the d and the c with it as well, for better assimilation and absorption. You can usually find both Calcium and Magnesium together in liquid form, I just add the buffered C and drink it as a hot toddy at night about an hour before bedtime.
