Avatar n tn I hope someone writes in that knows more about electrolytes, but when I needed some because of being on a clear liquid diet, I was told to use Pedialyte, unflavored, which contains potassium citrate and sodium citrate. I assume you are doing this on the advice of your doctor? What does he or she say about what you should be taking?
Avatar f tn If you decide to try it---start very slowly and build up. Because it is in a liquid form it can be absorbed during a GP attack---but start with a very small dose at first to let your body get used to it--as it WILL get things moving again. It takes about a month to really get the magnesium into your tissues and cells, so be patient---I did notice a difference the first week on it. Limit NSAIDs such as ADVIL--they are what really trigger GP for me.

You can usually find both Calcium and Magnesium together in liquid form, I just add the buffered C and drink it as a hot toddy at night about an hour before bedtime.
