I hope someone writes in that knows more about electrolytes, but when I needed some because of being on a clear liquid diet, I was told to use Pedialyte, unflavored, which contains potassium citrate and sodium citrate.
I assume you are doing this on the advice of your doctor? What does he or she say about what you should be taking?
Protein---while having an attack, I would juice up/purify tuna, eggs, chicken, beef (not fatty) with V8, milk, or any liquid I could tolerate so I could get it into my system as a liquid protein. This is if I couldn't eat solids.
Omega-3 Fish oils---I take 2,000 a day. I know they are oily and you may not be able to take them during an attack, but try to experiment with them as they are SO beneficial to getting the nerves and muscles working.
Potassium and Calcium and important electrolytes in muscles. Potassium is one of those electrolytes you dont really want to be messed up in your body. High potassium levels can cause heart dysrrhythmias, since your heart is a big muscle, Other signs of hyperkalemia(increased potassium) are nausea vomitting, restlessness, irritability, I am looking in my book right now to make sure i can give you the most accurate information. Chloride there is not much on.
Dioralyte comes in sachets that contain rehydration salts consisting of sugars and salts (glucose, sodium chloride, potassium chloride and disodium hydrogen citrate) and they are used to replace body fluids lost as a result of acute diarrhoea.
I wouldn't use the Gatorade because this is an energy drink and may be too strong for your guts.
You could take a pain relief and temperature reducing mediation to help with the rigors.
Can you tell me if the indication of change in a womens chloride level during her most fertile time of the month is directly related to the LH surge taking place? Or can you have changes in chloride levels and no LH surge? thanks!
