Avatar n tn I've been told I should increase my electrolyte intake. I've done so but am still having problems. I'm wondering if it's because of the type of electrolytes I've been using, mainly potassium citrate and magnesium citrate. I'm mainly interested in the best electrolytes for neural and brain health and was wondering if someone could suggest me some. I'm kind of interested in magnesium chloride.
Avatar f tn If you decide to try it---start very slowly and build up. Because it is in a liquid form it can be absorbed during a GP attack---but start with a very small dose at first to let your body get used to it--as it WILL get things moving again. It takes about a month to really get the magnesium into your tissues and cells, so be patient---I did notice a difference the first week on it. Limit NSAIDs such as ADVIL--they are what really trigger GP for me.
617141 tn?1225706428 Transfer was postponed till I get better. Doctor gave me Lasix 40 mg to be taken once and Neo-K (potassium chloride) 500 mg twice daily for 5 days for now. My concern is that I ate two potatoes, one banana, a cup of yogurt, and tomato, all potassium sources today.
Avatar m tn m wondering if you can or can not use something like Lo Salt that has potassium chloride in it along with beta blockers, and if so how much is recommended. I'm looking to substitute lo salt for some other high in potassium foods in order to cut down on my sugar content.
1618806 tn?1304734477 Salad binge?! I eat salads every day. LOL! But I'm highly concerned about the advice your dishing out about Ms. Dash. Ms. Dash IS NOT a salt substitute it is merely a salt replacement. There's a WORLD of difference between Ms. Dash and Morton Salt Substitute (for example) which is loaded with Potassium Chloride. If you take the time to read the ingredients on ANY Ms. Dash flavors, you'll find nothing but herbs and spices, there's absolutely NO potassium chloride in it.
Avatar m tn I have been buying this one for Years because it has Magnesium in it. It is a Anti-Stress drink. Also I do get my Vit in a Liquid and my Minerals in a Liquid..It is all plant based which is a lot better. Also you can go to the Health store and get all the Amino Acids in one. Some bottles say Protein on the front and some say Complete Amino..This way you will be getting all of them A-V in ONE..Then you can pick some up separate for more Energy..
Avatar n tn Potassium and Calcium and important electrolytes in muscles. Potassium is one of those electrolytes you dont really want to be messed up in your body. High potassium levels can cause heart dysrrhythmias, since your heart is a big muscle, Other signs of hyperkalemia(increased potassium) are nausea vomitting, restlessness, irritability, I am looking in my book right now to make sure i can give you the most accurate information. Chloride there is not much on.
Avatar f tn great to hear =) the other thing is to ask about niacin for the PN which may have caused the leg cramps - it's sooo painful and it may just be a side effect of the potassium that may heal with the right treatment; I've been taking it for about a year (liquid form) and it has helped in my case but make sure you ask her doctor about it and if they think it will help

Avatar m tn After that event I get arrhythmia time to time, accompanying with nerve impulses travelling accross the chest. In hospital doctors usually detect potassium level in blood 3.8. Basing on that doctors infused potassium chloride and I take additinally potassium supplements. Recently I noticed that when Arrhythmia occurs, I heal it not with potassium restore, but with neck streching up. When I stretch the neck up, arrhythmia dissapears even before infusion of potassium chloride.

Avatar n tn If i cant find the liquid mag, i use the powdered form. If you are taking C, please make sure that it is in buffered form, as it can cause stomach irritation. when taking the mag and cal, make sure you are taking the d and the c with it as well, for better assimilation and absorption. You can usually find both Calcium and Magnesium together in liquid form, I just add the buffered C and drink it as a hot toddy at night about an hour before bedtime.
