Buddy was diagnosed with pneumonia and has gone through a course of doggy antibiotics and 3 courses of human antibiotics. The right lung is full of fluid. He would get better, then be energetic and get worse. It was suggested that he may not have pneumonia but CHF. Is there anything to do to help him. The vet doesn't seem to have any suggestions. Would a diuretic help? He's starting to not eat now.

As many of you know I was diagnosed with pneumonia after my second treatment. Dr said I am now at a stage 3, due to all of the hurry up and wait that has been going on with my immune system. The pneumonia is just about cleared up, but now have pleurisy (ouch) The gyn/onc is recommending IP chemo. What is this and are the side effects atrocious. Would this help to keep from developing these off the wall infections?

The thing about pneumonia is it's just a broad term for lung inflammation, and the air sacs filling up with fluid, but it isn't a specific diagnosis of what caused the pneumonia.
It showed pneumonia in the bottom of both lungs.. I took cipiro for 2 weeks...Felt better now Im coughing bad and coughing up yellow phelghm. New xrays showed nothing.Whats going on? And what kind of pneumiona lives in the bottom of the lungs?

I was diagnosed with pneumonia 6 weeks ago. I was on oral antibiotics for 2 days, then admitted with an IV drip for 3 days (levifloxacin, as I'm allergic to penicillin-based drugs) then given a 5 day course of oral clarithromyacin. I rested for 2 more weeks after finishing the antibiotics but was still coughing yellow mucus and feeling tired with moderate/mild activity.
