Phentermine vs amphetamine

Common Questions and Answers about Phentermine vs amphetamine

phentermine

Avatar f tn Beanies are almost the same, but FDA regulation of amphetamine in the late 80's lead to a billions of dollar market wide open. In the 90's phentermine was sold as a replacement or substitute for amphetamines, but it really is so similar that they just changed it enough to get past the law. Clincial studies show that there are more heart conditions caused by phentermine than amphetamine, but it's hard for the Big Pharm to give up those billions of dollars.
737114 tn?1232035410 I have been taking phentermine on and off for almost 15 years, I have never needed it for weight loss only the amazing energy it gave me, I know it is a little late to decide they probably are doing my health no good at all but hey, better late than never. I have tried hundreds of times to stop taking them but the chronic fatigue I get keeps me going back.
Avatar f tn I prescribed60 mg of adderall but one week I had to take left over phentermine and 10mg adderall and my focusing was great and energy and I still do take 1/3 of phentermine a day.
Avatar m tn A doctor prescribed me a combo of Redotex in the morning and 30mg Phentermine HCl at lunch (for weight loss). Is it dangerous? These are the active ingredients of Redotex: o Tri iodothyronine (Triyodotironina) 75 mcg. A hormone used to increase the metabolic rate of tissues. o Norpseudoephedrine (Clorhidrato de D Norseudoefedrina) 50 mg. An amphetamine like drug. o Atropine sulfate (Sulfato de Atropina) 0.36 mg. Used as a respiratory and circulatory stimulant. o Aloin (Aloina) 16.2 mg.
Avatar f tn Taking amphetamine (i.e. Adderall, Dexedrine, Vyvanse), in the last 14 days" This quote is from - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phentermine I find it very hard to believe that when Phentermine use is containdicated in those who are taking amphetamine (i.e. Adderall) that your doctor would say that they would not interact. And Topamax is prescribed for antipsychotic-induced weight gain.
Avatar m tn hopefully u have none left and no access to anymore..cut ur ties...phentermine would be similar to cocaine wd...it is an amphetamine and affects the brain in a very similar way...not supposedly physically addicting but the fatigue and depression that follows is often compared to narcotic wd...there is an article in my journal on drugs/supps to help wd from stimulants...tyrosine is very good for this type of wd..good luck and wanna had a good point..what gives this time around?
Avatar n tn My body aches and im tired alot and i have been taking phentermine to help loose weight but i lost 10lbs and thats all.
Avatar m tn Sorry you relapsed but I'm confused. You used Phentermine for pain???Phentermine is a synthetic amphetamine. It doesn't do anything for pain. Also you don't have to taper. It is not physically addicting...only psychologically addicting.... Throw them out and you will be tired and depressed for a few days. These are really bad for your physical and mental health so hope you can stop taking them. God bless.
Avatar n tn If I understand correctly, Fastin is the same as phentermine, which is an amphetamine. It is only recommended to be used for up to 12 weeks. I wouldn't be surprised if you have developed a tolerance to it.
481269 tn?1208280771 I have taken Phentermine several times in the past and I was told by my DR. to AVOID drinking alcohol while taking phentermine. Phentermine is a stimulant that is similar to an amphetamine. It is an appetite suppressant that affects the central nervous system. It worked great for me loosing weight. But, I do have 2 friends that mixed alcohol and phentermine and it was NOT a pretty site. It can increase some of the side effects of phentermine.
15242955 tn?1534438461 It could be lack of sleep. Phentermine is an appetite suppressant that is commonly prescribed for weight loss. It is a mild stimulant and can be disruptive to sleep. Long term sleep deprivation will cause the symptoms you described. I take Phentermine for weight loss. I feel like my normal self. I just don't feel hungry unless I skip meals. It lets me plan my food and develop healthy eating habits without having to fight temptation or feel deprived. But, it disrupts my sleep.
Avatar f tn hey ive seen phentermine and its like made from amphetamine im pretty sure. i remember i took it once and thought i was on meth for the day. so id imagine u were havin some withdrwawls.
Avatar f tn Adieux is Phentermine. Phentermine is related chemically and pharmacologically to amphetamine and other related stimulant drugs that have been extensively abused. Phentermine is a Schedule IV controlled substance. What you're doing when you take is Adipex from a "weight loss clinic" is taking speed in order to lose weight.
5957912 tn?1379936972 Thats not what taper off means. If you stop some meds quickly, you can suffer side effects. Google the phentermine to see what I mean. Point is - don't know if you have one, two, or three docs - but they need to know what you are taking. And its possible the Adderall could help you lose the weight. I think in some ways its safer then the phentermine. But, the two maybe should not be taken together.
Avatar f tn Did you ask your doctor about taking Phen with your BB? Ask your doctor or pharmacist.. I would never take any type of amphetamine with an arrhythmia; all kinds of things could happen. I think that's what started my major problems with my NSVT runs that made my heart stop.
Avatar n tn Hi all, Having seen that the FDA is pulling Meridia (for weight loss) off the market bec. of potential adverse heart reactions, I'm wondering if anyone else on this board took this med at any time? I took it in 2007 for about 6wks to lose weight. That's actually when my PVCs all started (well at least when there was documented sustained PVCs, I'm pretty certain I've had them off & on randomly prior to that, but never showed up on EKG, etc.) At the time, none of my Drs.
Avatar n tn m curious why more studies have not been conducted to study the correlation between phentermine and acne? Acne is not listed as a possible side effect of phentermine, but phentermine is considered a methamphetamine; methamphetamines are known to causes acne. I am a biology teacher and am frustrated that medical professionals are not confirming the overwhelming reports of acne being associated with phentermine. Is it a conspiracy????
Avatar f tn some backgrougnd info so people can advise me. I starting using the phentermine after i stopped using cocaine after 15 years and gained a lot of weight. dr. 1st prescribed to loose weight because he did not know I was a recovering addict, and wala plecibo! I feel all i did was trade the illegal drug for a legal one, although i have purchased phentermine off the internet for years.
494656 tn?1209640771 I just found this site to buy phentermine. I see on there that ther is: - phentREmine - phentRAmine and - phentERmine Is there a difference? And, has anyone bought them online? Do you think it's safe...I mean, how will i know I've gotten the right thing? http://www.silverdrugs.com/parking.php4?
518798 tn?1295212279 yes..it is an amphetamine and psychologically habit forming like cocaine...so is phentermine ..
Avatar n tn Hello, Phentermine can alter your blood sugar levels, if you are going to try using it please use it with caution and monitor your blood sugar levels more frequently... if you notice changes and if your blood sugars are becoming too low then stop taking phentermine, and seek further advice about what you could use instead of phentermine. Remember that diabetes should be your priority.
Avatar f tn took phentermine 37.5 and then drank a energy drink. i am so sick now. what do i do to feel better?
Avatar f tn I'm on 30mg phentermine. ive been taking it for 3 weeks now. lost 4lbs, ate one good meal, and gained it back all in one day. I was down to salads and water, with no results what so ever. It also makes me very, very sleepy. I need to lose the weight, but nothing working.. any comments anyone has would be greatly appreciated!
Avatar m tn I decided to go to a local Weight Loss Clinic because I had already exhausted my options, and they prescribed 30mg of Phentermine as an appetite suppressant. I didn't really realize the risk of dependency or how powerful this drug could be. I went from 150 lbs to 140 lbs in about a month and have stayed there, although that isn't my ideal weight. However, I didn't want to become addicited or reliant on a Rx.
