Its bad enough that you run the risk of heart problems with Phentermine but adding energy drinks to that just adds to the risk. I took Phentermine for a while. I never drank energy drinks because I cant stand them but I now have heart problems because of the Phentermine.
I'm a 40yr old woman who is 70lbs overweight. I take .25mg Atenolol and would like to know if it would be safe to take Fastin. I am on a heathy eating plan and incorporating exercise 4-5x wk. However the weight isn't coming off and I'm low on energy 99% of the time. Can you advise?
I prescribed60 mg of adderall but one week I had to take left over phentermine and 10mg adderall and my focusing was great and energy and I still do take 1/3 of phentermine a day.
I can't comment on the thyroid concerning med's at all.
I do know that you should be questioning the phentermine though. I take BP med's for my blood pressure and went on phentermine ~1 1/2 years ago to loose weight as a last choice thing. I took 1/2 doses due to the incline in my BP and was having chest pains. I did loose 51 pounds in 6 months in which was great, plus full of energy while on it. Though in the last year it has all came back, plus now my energy level has sunk.
My dr. recently prescribed Metformin (500 mg 2x/day) and Phentermine (37.5 mg/day). I started the meds approximately a week ago. I was told the Phen would give me all of this energy and that the Metformin would keep me in the bathroom a lot until my body adjusted, but I have had neither really. The first couple of days on the Phen I had a boost of energy, which I loved, but it quickly faded. I am now constantly tired, no matter how much sleep I get.
d never recommend phentermine, even though it does work for weight loss. The problem is that when people stop taking it, they almost always gain back everything they lost, plus some.
Joined a gym, took vitamins for energy and well being. Eat healthy . Little by little had the will to leave phentermine for once and for all. I listened to the signs around me and made the change before it was too late. Legal or not legal anything substance we depend on will destroy us. If ur someone like me that is going thru this. ..know that "it can get better " you have to make the choice. Pray. Hope is there , your not alone.
I have heard alot of people say that they feel extrememly exhausted when them quit subs. I know I will be poo pooed with the question, but how about taking phentermine(diest aid) during that period? Years ago when I was over weight I was prescribed these and they gave me crazy energy. Any thoughts b/c I am tapering the subs and will be done hopefully by the end of next month. I went from24mg to 12mg in a weeks time already.

Phentermine did help for me I took it for 2 weeks and lost 11lbs. It gave me more energy and curved my appetite. I stopped taking it to see if I could continue on my own and now I lost 30lbs.
Before I started my diet pill (Fastin) I was always so tired & no energy to do anything.. I have severe sleep apnea so dr says thats why. After I started Fastin, I was amazed at how good I felt. Constantly on the go and I wanted to exercise. Felt great all day & now I am right back to feeling the same way as far as being tired and no energy. I don't feel like even doing my walking/running everyday.

When amphetamines were more regulated to sell as diet aids, phentermine started to be the main drug sold for hunger suppression. Be careful, people do get strung out on that drug. Always take as prescribed, you will build such a tolerance that it will no longer be effective, but your suppressed adrenals will make you want it for the energy. Please keep a close eye on your usage, side effects and any craving for the drug that may develop.

I've been taking phentermine for 4 days now. The first day I felt good,lots of energy everything was fine. On the second day I didn't have the same affect.I actually don't feel to well.I haven't been hungry intil today.Been feeling warm in the face and sometimes my ears feel hot. Is this normal? Everyone is different and what might be too high a blood pressure for me could be just fine for you. From what I've read, phentermine is not usually given to those with high blood pressure. I agree that you should talk to your doctor and make sure he understands your blood pressure issue.
I also agree that you should look eliminate hypothyroidism as a cause of your weight issues.
Back in June this year (2010), I started taking Phentermine for weight loss. About a week into the treatment I had an intensely itchy hive wheal on my right hand and also itchy skin on the backs of my legs just under my buttocks. I thought it could have been a dust allergy because I know I'm allergic to dust, among many other things. I went off the Phentermine, and the wheal never went away, but it didn't bother me too much either.
