I stopped cold Turkey and it took about 24 hours to reach withdrawal stage, and by 36 hours I was in full withdrawal. My symptoms were: restlessness, headache, insomnia, loss of appetite, irritability, sweating, chills, diarrhea, muscle aches, runny nose and watery eyes. It seemed the restlessness kept me awake the most. Restless arms and legs all night.
Percocet is Tylenol + oxycodone. Tylenol is the most common pain reliever that is safe to use in pregnancy (you're not supposed to take Aspirin or Ibuprofen unless instructed by your doctor).
I have just weaned off oxycontin ( 90mg./day) but am still taking percocet once or twice a day for pain. I still need it for the pain. I have been having digestive problems so thats way I went off the long acting. Is my body going to get it's energy back and withdraw properly when I'm still taking percocet occassionally or am I just going to continue to feel like **** all the time going in and out of withdrawal????
Post surgery I had a few complications including nerve damage in my leg and pelvic arthritis. I was on percocet lyrica and cymbalta. Once the nerve damage got better I stopped the lyrica and cymbalta. After going back to work after surgery, I was afraid of taking percocet (im a teacher) so the dr gave me tramadol. 2 weeks ago I had steroidal injections in my pelvis and asked for something stronger because the tramadol wasnt working.

It is possible that you will have withdrawal symptoms when you quit taking Percocet. Even if it is for short period of time that you take it. Our bodies and minds have long memories. I had been clean for about a year from taking Roxicodone, when I broke my leg and had to have surgery. I had to take pain pills for a little while. I was not taking Roxicodone, but something much milder.
