I admit my own naivity on the subject, so I leave it to one of you to help understand. I have come in contact with Percocet, which contains 2.5MG of Oxy, but then I also see an 80mg Oxy tablet on the market. Is the 80mg a time released version? Can you cut the pill four ways to instead have 4 20mg doses? Can anyone send me to a decent place to learn about Oxy doses?
I just dont think telling me I need to get a monkey off my back is helpful, I know there is a problem. I would not be here if I didnt. And this was not the issue anyway, I was asking about dosing so I can start cutting down and tapering. I realize everyone is on diiferent dosages, thats why I gave the examples. I was not judging that, I was trying to figure out how to calculate MY dosage in MG.
I am also prescribed percocet and I get 150 pills a month and I take it in addition to extended release morphine for chronic back pain. On average, I take 25 mg of percocet daily and up to 30 mg a day along with 60 mg of morphine per day. I have never had a morning after headache from the percocet.
The maximum dose of acetaminophen that can be taken daily is 4,000 mg. So with 325 mg in each pill, you took well under the maximum dose.
ve begun taking MS-Contin which is morphine (time released) 15 mg. twice per day. With that my doctor prescribes percocet 10/325 mg. for break through pain.
I've only been taking the MS-Contin now for two (2) months. But the problem I seem to be having is that I still hurt unless I take four (4) percocet a day along with the two (2) MS-Contin.
s not in time released form. The difference is percocet has acetaminophen 325mg to be exact. Increasing the dosage of percocets is bad because of the acet. Alot of times doctors perscribe oxycontin, or roxicets.... because the patients stomach can't handle the acet. It's very hard on the stomach.

The potent ingredient in any opiate compound is the opiate. 5mg of Oxycodone is exactly that - 5 mg. Her doctor was trying to lower her dosage, which may or may not be effective...pure Oxycodone (AKA Roxycodone) is "rapid delivery," and is released into one's bloodstream within minutes, unlike Percocet, the delivery of which takes approximately 30 minutes. It COULD work as well for her - (faster!!) but...well, every body is different.
They have me on 30 mg oxycontin, twice daily, 10/325 percocet 6 a day, soma 4 times daily and xanax 2 mg for anxiety.
What are my options for the breakthrough pain, that is what I am taking the percocet for and I need to stop with the Tylenol already enough is enough. I talked with my doc last time I was there to see her, and this is when she switched me to the percocet from Vicoprofen, due to the fact that it was doing nothing for the pain.
I have been taking Percocet for a couple years now but never more than 20 mg a day, so with your dosage, not sure what side effects are typical. I do know that I do not seem to have any negative side effects on my current dosage. Regardless, it sounds like it is not the right medication for you. If you are getting your meds from a doctor, you need to ask him about it. Sorry I could not be of more help.
I had been taking 20 mg opana 2x day along with 30 mg Oxycodone 4x day. My pain management doctor changed my dosage this last month to 40 mg opana 2x day and 30 mg Oxycodone 3x day. I have been on opiate pain medication for about 6 years, pretty much continuously. My problem is that since the dosage change, it seems like the medication is not lasting long enough. I start getting withdrawal symptoms within 4-6 hours of taking an opana and an Oxycodone.
ambien will help.also, otr stuff diphenhydramine (benedryl) 50 mg or doxyclamine (umisom) 25-50 mg. mixed with the ambien will have an additive effect.Maybe taking it with a glass of wine might help also. Make sure your room is dark,you should put black tape ove those little lights on your tv vcr radio clock. maybe a little loft music on low volume,but try to eliminate any other noise.

can i fill a prescription for percocet 9/29 even though ifilled a prescrition for vicodin on 9/27?
Oxycodone also has an option without Tylenol. it is available in a 5 mg strength so this may be an option too.
You need to discuss this with your doctor and ask him what options he/she can offer. I would highly suggest not going in and asking for a specific drug, this raises huge red flags.
Just speak to your doctor and inform them that the Darvocet is not controlling the pain and that your concerned about the Tylenol content on a daily basis and they will adjust your medicines accordingly.
Hi I started taking percocet when I had all four of my wisdom teeth pulled.I didn't care for the drug at first but it helped.I only had about 15 of the 512 at the time so I only took one or two at a time.Of course I liked the buzz but when they were gone,I didn't care..
