Percocet dosage by weight

Common Questions and Answers about Percocet dosage by weight

percocet

210982 tn?1280983895 Yes although dosage and frequency of usage does matter. In my experience morphine, high dosage oxycontin and methadone are the most effective (and the most addicting) pain killers.
Avatar m tn I am not sure if this caused by the new dosage of Percocet, or if it has to do with the weight I have gained due to my injury perhaps.... But I started doing some research and read everywhere that Klonopin and Percocet are a dangerous mix. I have never experienced any issues before (but I do not watch myself sleep), and I did not experience any issues on Tuesday night......only last night.
Avatar m tn SOME SAY THE PERCOCET CAUSED WEIGHT GAIN. OTHER SAY IT CAUSES WEIGHT LOSE. WOULD VERY MUCH LIKE TO KNOW WHICH IS THE CASE. WORKS WELL FOR PAIN BUT WON;T BE ABLE TO KEEP TAKING IT IF IT CAUSES WEIGHT GAIN.
Avatar n tn does anyone know recommended dosage for Watson 749 (Percocet), how often you are supposed to take it?
Avatar m tn I admit my own naivity on the subject, so I leave it to one of you to help understand. I have come in contact with Percocet, which contains 2.5MG of Oxy, but then I also see an 80mg Oxy tablet on the market. Is the 80mg a time released version? Can you cut the pill four ways to instead have 4 20mg doses? Can anyone send me to a decent place to learn about Oxy doses?
Avatar n tn Hi nueme - Yes, it's Percocet. Imho, I feel a person can tell when he / she is addicted. It's not that difficult to determine I don't think. I mean, can you get by without taking the pills for a week or so? If not, then yeah I'd say you have a problem. The '5/325' is of course the dosage you're on. The '5' is the mgs of Oxycodone in the pill. The '325' is the amount of Acetaminophen. Opiate painkillers do cause water retention.
478811 tn?1208474960 I had major back surgery, a four level fusion, in october 2006. I was given percocet after the surgery, and was told to go to a special pain management place, where i went for over 7 months. because I was active 4 weeks after the surgery, and started to run around and take care of my kids and get back to my very busy life style, I never had real time to relax, and just "chill out". I stopped going to therapy in july, last year, put I continued to need the pain meds.
Avatar n tn Hi,I read about people on 180mg or 200mg of pills. I take 8 7.5/325 of Percocet, can anyone tell me how many mg I am on?
527890 tn?1263783127 As for medications I remain uncertain about taking narcotics because of addictive potential and side effects (constipation) and I do not take a liken to withdraw symptoms very well. If you’re taking Percocet for years then I wonder the dosage and if mixed with Acetaminophen as I believe this helps to prevent drug abuse. If straight Percocet, (Oxycodone) for years then I hope you are not suffering from drug addiction.
Avatar m tn For most people, as long as you are consistently putting a narcotic into your body, you will grow a tolerance. But I know someone who has taken percocet for over 20 years and has been at the same dosage basically the whole time. Everyone is different. Have you tried medications other than narcotics?
Avatar f tn Has anyone heard that the dosage is based on your weight? My numbers are perfect, according to the doctor, however, I am always tired, have reflux problems that the gastro doesn't understand why, I am constantly having hard stools, not gaining or losing weight, and getting very frustrated. I keep thinking I need my dosage raised but no one will listen to me. Am I thinking the right way or not? Help! Need your advise.
1448748 tn?1312956208 I found it interesting u said it gave some food a metal taste, I have not noticed that. again it could be I am on too low a dosage....I am losing weight, but I also had a change in my Thyroid labs post op and wonder if that is more of the weight loss than the Topamax?
Avatar n tn t further adjusted by weight, but by lab vales and, most of all, symptoms. Or I should say, it should be adjusted by FT3, FT4 levals and symptoms.
Avatar m tn Today I was offered the lower dosage 5mg/325 pills. I am curious since it is such a lower dosage if I can take one at night to try and sleep until I cant completely ween myself off of the drugs. This has been the hardest struggle of my life thus far and I know with mind over matter I can make it but I'd still like to take these few low dosage percs to try and help ween myself off easier and help the withdrawls.
Avatar n tn Heart palpatations and irregular heart beats are a serious side effect of the medication. Since your friend has been taking percocet for years, he/she is addicted to the medication. When the medication starts to wear off, he/she is experiencing a withdrawal which can cause heart palpatations and irregular heart beats due to anxiety. Here's a list of side effects and severity: http://www.webmd.com/drugs/drug-7277-Percocet+Oral.aspx?
600857 tn?1230057770 Hi all, it's me Gretchen. I had my 3rd Nuerolysis yesterday. Lets hope this works for awhile. My question is. My Pain Mgmt DR upped my Nuerontin to 300mg 2x day. He took me off the Valium and Baclofen. He said Valium is not good long term and by upping the Nuerontin I won't need Baclofen. OK. As of yet, no bad side effects, yet I've heard many say things about Nuerontin. Any input would be greatly appreciated. One last thing. I've been feeling amped out.
Avatar n tn s 5/325 for the past few months it started out i was taking them for miofusial back strain then i found out i have gallstones very painful by the way i was just wondering why i am waking up every morning feeling like i want to puke and i start to sweat after awhile i was wondering if there was something i could do to take the nausea away? and how do I ween myself off of them?
Avatar m tn m on a program. If he does, will Percocet even work? What would be a good dosage for me? Can anyone help me here? I truly appreciate your time. Thanks a bunch!
Avatar f tn I have previously been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, a fractured spine, curvature reversal, buldging disks, pinched nerves, carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow, migraines, and high uric acid. They originally prescribed me percocet 7.5mg limit 6 a day, nuerontin 600mg tid, and esgic plus 50-500-40mg however my insurance stopped covering the percocet 7.5mg and so they had to prescribe me the 5/325!
1535595 tn?1317990033 Thanks everyone :) my OB knows that I'm on percocet but I hate it when he says 'baby may be a little dependent, no big deal' cause it is a big deal to me! I'm actually working on lowering my dosage from 4-6 10mg to 4-6 5mg and I want to keep lowering my dosage! It's hard cause in dying here but I've rather be in pain than have my baby suffer from withdrawals!
Avatar m tn Both oxycodone and acetaminophen have long-term effects that need to be carefully monitored by a doctor in patients taking Percocet for chronic pain and include: Liver damage. Kidney failure. Severe constipation. Urinary retention. Slightly decreased testosterone levels in men. Tolerance.
Avatar m tn I am concerned about the weight gain everyone talks about.
Avatar n tn Ok, now that I think about it, I am depressed not happy on percocet. I remember a log time ago being on vicodan, I had energy was "happy" ect. Then I was switched to percocet, and now I am just sick feeling. My feet get numb, and feel like cement, and are very sensitive. At higher doses my legs ache.. I feel depressed and very tired. I just sit and do nothing. My hair seems like it is thinning? My skin looks like hell. I am on about 70mg a day. Has anyone else had weird side effects?
Avatar f tn s not in time released form. The difference is percocet has acetaminophen 325mg to be exact. Increasing the dosage of percocets is bad because of the acet. Alot of times doctors perscribe oxycontin, or roxicets.... because the patients stomach can't handle the acet. It's very hard on the stomach. I hope that answers your question.
Avatar m tn So I took a percocet mid morning, and didnt need anything for the rest of the day. And then 24 hours went by and I hadnt had a norco...I still feel fine. But I know its cuzz that percocet is worse then everything! So that was dumb. I kinda liked feeling ok for the entire day without needing anything, that was nice. but I knwo it was wrong of me to do that. Still, tapered from norco big time! but had a big time crutch. owell. I gotta do what I gotta do and just quit everything one of these days!
1887358 tn?1320931131 I have tried the chiropractor route and that just made things so much more worse that I know had to have these xrays done to see what is the real problem. My family doc prescribes me Percocet 10/650mg 3 times a day but these don't seem to last more then 2-3 hours per pill and she won't increase my dosage becasue she says she is not a pain mgmt doctor. Don't get me wrong, I love my doctor and will continue to see her for family issues but I guess I need to find a pain doctor.
