Stands to reason that: 2 x 5mg Percocet = 1 x 10mg Oxycontin Don't quote me on that though. I know Percocet has both Oxymorphone AND Acetaminophen in it, and Oxycontin has Oxymorphone only. I'm not certain what the Acetaminophen brings to the table as far as drug-interactions go, but your statement that the Perc and the Oxy are the same (2x5mg vs. 1x10mg) sounds about right. Maybe someone in the Pain-Management Community would know.

can taking methadone and percocet togeather cause overdose wich can lead to a stroke? If your addicted to percocet coming off of them can it make you really angry at anyone tring to help you get off them? can taking to much percocet mixed with methodone and xanix make you very disfunctional slured speech and come in and out while in a conversation and fall asleep all the time?

I have been prescribed both at high doses... it is safe as long as the doctor manages the dose... The combo worked well for me for a while... now I am on Fentanyl and Oxycodone... sometimes it takes a change every so often to get the most out of the medications...

m still having most of the withdrawal symptoms, specifically major debilitating nausea, weakness/tiredness, trouble sleeping, restless legs. Is this normal? And is being on the percs somehow making things worse? (need for pain) Does anyone know if activated charcoal would get all drugs out of the system, or is that just for acute overdose? Thank you!

I was just prescribed the duragesic patch 25mcg but have not filled the prescription, while researching on internet found the ingredients in this patch being some powerful meds that I have never experienced before and I am in fear of overdose, not being able to concentrate on my job or addiction. The improvement here is that the patch gives you 24/7 pain management whereas vicodin and percocet leave you chasing pain peaks and valleys. That is the difference between short-acting (immediate release) meds and long-acting (time release) meds. Generally speaking, the more potent opiates are prescribed in long-acting formulations and also don't contain the tylenol that is mixed with the short-acting meds.

Here is the easiest way to look at it, (i think?) ... Percocet has tylenol in it, however, oxycodone and oxycontin are just straight percocet, no tylenol. I believe that oxycodone is the generic name for Roxicodone, which is also obviously percocet without the tylenol. I was prescribed Vicodin for a little over a year and then Percocet for about 2 years. During those time periods, I had elevated liver enzymes and periodic liver pain, all of which dissapated after stopping the tylenol. Don't take opiates while on suboxone....while you won't feel the opiates because the sub blocks them, they will still be in the system and if you do too much you can overdose. And you're not going to get high anyways, so DONT TAKE THE CHANCE.

I am confused this talwin has naloxone in it- i am about to research it but i believe that is what they use to reverse overdose effects. Transfer was postponed till I get better. Doctor gave me Lasix 40 mg to be taken once and Neo-K (potassium chloride) 500 mg twice daily for 5 days for now. My concern is that I ate two potatoes, one banana, a cup of yogurt, and tomato, all potassium sources today.
