m not big on side effects and all that. I have been taking paxil for 4 days now and on day two I realized that I was yawning so much that my jaw was starting to hurt (yawn) I cant stop. Im really really tired and the yawning is getting quite annoying. Is this normal and when does It usually stop? Im also obese weighing in at 257.4 lbs with only a 5'2" height. I heard alot about paxil making you gain weight. I dont want that. Im trying to become healthy.

I took Celexa for 5 months before I could stop the yawning. Some side effects, like speeded up system don't necessarily go away. Your pharmacist can give you some info over the phone or probably more in person, but you need to see the doc to get any med adjustment. Did you doc tell you to cut the dose?

In my experience with SSRIs like Paxil, I tend to notice side effects whenever I start, stop, or adjust the dosage (according to the Doc's orders of course). I believe that it can be two-fold. One, I believe it does take our bodies a bit to adjust to the medication and two, I also believe that we are much more aware of any symptoms and relate them to the medication's side effects whether they are related or not. Take it real solw and ask your doctor about taking Remeron to help take the edge of off the Paxil side effects. Did a great job for me! Lets you get to sleep at night and really helps with the anixety. However, it did keep me in a fog for a few days until my body adjusted.

I was recently tried on Zoloft and I thought the side effects I was having were withdrawls from my Effexor and new side effects from the Zoloft ... but it turned out I am allergic to the Zoloft and was having a reaction to it!

I was taking 20 mg. He said 10 mg for 2 weeks and then 5mg for 2 weeks, after start wellbutrin. However, I didn't make it that far. Just by one week of going Down to 10 mg I was vomiting, running to the bathroom. Nervousness, dizzy, brain zap and a fuzzy feeling in my head, sweating, VERY emotional.

What you should do is, if you just started the wellbutrin, stop it, go back on the Paxil, and taper off slowly, as slowly as it takes because you aren't anyone else. What you have are classic Paxil withdrawal symptoms.

My daughter is currently taking a combination of depakote, lamictal, and abilify for a mood disorder. Hi, I am posting this for my 21 yr. old son. He is in college and he had extreme anxiety and depression and was put on Cymbalta. He's been taking it for about a month. He complains to me that he yawns constantly, is really drowsy, almost to the point where he falls asleep at random times and it's upsetting him. However, his anxiety and depression are much better. I looked up the side effects of Cymbalta and these are not very common ones, so I don't know what to tell him.

I also take Paxil for a sleep disorder (depression-related insomnia) and have for 11+ years. It works wonderously, but I gained 30+ lbs when I started the medication and have tried for years to lose it, unsuccessfully. I will lose some weight - and believe me, it takes an enormous amount of exercise and effort - but inevitably gain it back because Paxil makes my appetite so strong.

t taper of SSRIs like Paxil there can be unwanted side effects to include what you are describing in my opinion. That is why it is essential not to quit these medications cold turkey. For me, tapering slowly minimized these side effects and they will go away...keep us posted!

s what will continue to happen. Has anyone had these side effects that are ongoing when you take Prestiq? Also, how do you recommend weaning off the medication. In the past, I had taken Effexor and had to wean off by breaking open the capsule and decreasing the grains. Thanks for any suggestions.

also when i get off of Paxil can I just stop right away like that?

I took it three days, and two people told me they are addictive and cause some side effects. I have heard Lexipro and Wellbutrin are good. Just not sure whether I should get started now or wait until if and when I have problems. But I've heard by then it might take a while to start working. I've only got five days until I start.
