Avatar m tn I bought a bottle of Patanol eye drops about a month and three weeks ago, I found the box a couple days ago and noticed on the box that it says discard thirty days after opening... The expiry date on the bottle says 01-2011.. Is this bad that I used the eye drops three weeks after it was suppose to be discarded? I only used three quaters of the bottle. I paid a little over fifty dollars for this little 5 mL bottle.... But what can you do....
Avatar n tn The only change I have made in my life style is to take Patanol eye drops for allergy eyes. I have been using them once daily for 4 months. Could it be that this antihistamine can be causing this increase in my blood pressure? I am allergic to the drugs used for controling blood pressure and prior to this successfully lowered my pressure by exercise and diet.It is normal for me to have a reading of 130 over 80. I am 59 years old. I weigh 110 pounds. I am 5 foot 6 inches tall.

Avatar f tn , Last night, after reading so much information here, I happened to remember I had a bottle of Patanol in the medicine cabinet and I used it. I may be guilty of wishful thinking but it seemed like my eye felt dramatically better. I used the Patanol again this morning and so far so good.

Avatar n tn My eyes become itchy and watery. I have used patanol in the past but the eye Dr is now recommending patasol which is very expensive. I want to try Zyrtec d instead of Zyrtec which gives me some releif. Any other suggestions are appreciated.
Avatar n tn Systane, Blink, Refresh, Soothe and something for allergies like Patanol or Pataday. If your allergy is bad enough to require a steroid then lotemax, or pred mild would be better choices.
Avatar n tn Last week a neurologist diagnosed me an ophthalmic migraine, he said that there is nothing I could do and that I should get used to. I was wandering if the symptoms fits since I don't have any headaches. I apologize for my mistakes, I don't talk much english. I would really appreciate your help.
Avatar m tn When he was checking me, he diagnosed me with Giant Papillary Conjunctivitis and put me on patanol eye drops - he said I was allergic to the contacts I was wearing and said that the pain I felt on my left eye was because I had a foreign body in that eye and my left eye is more sensitive than before. I explained to him that my right eye was fine and he told me that my right eye actually hurts just the same but it's overshadowed by the pain in my left eye.
Avatar f tn She prescribe me a ciprofloxacin hydrochloride ophthalmic solution, 0.3% and Erythromycin Ophthalmic Ointment USP, 0.5%(sterile) apply ointment 1 times a day to use, follow up with her everyday. Avatar m tn My eyes constantly have redness in them, mostly the outsides & the left one is more red than the right. How do I get rid of the redness in my eyes (without powerful medication). I'm already using an anti-allergy drop (Zaditor) which doesn't help THAT much. I've used Patanol before too. How can I get rid of the redness?
412909 tn?1211069559 In a situation like yours the great number of these problems are forms of ocular or eye or ophthalmic migraine (often do not have headaches) these are often hormonally driven. Use the search, topics and archive features to look up the extended discussions of ophthalmic migraine. See an Eye MD for a baseline eye exam. Find one at www.aao.
Avatar f tn Tobramycin, Patanol, and Amox-clav. Every time he uses them his eyes sting and have been of very little help for him. Also, after the first few days, he went raking out in his backyard for a couple hours. Could that have caused damage or an irritant to get in his eyes? What do you suggest he do?
Avatar m tn He has been on an oral antihistimine (claritin) for many years and uses Patanol and theratears. He was told he could no longer wear contact lenses (that's fine) and hasn't since his diagnoses. There is little change to his GPC even after using a prescription eye drop with steroids and antibiotic. His opthamologist never asked if he used any face cleanser. He uses a 10% Benzoyl Peroxide wash, in addition to Clearasil pads.
Avatar f tn However, your daughter may have experienced the temporary (20 minutes or so) of an ophthalmic migraine. The experience is called a scintillating actions. It may and often does occur without the headache. Migraine headaches usually occur insensitivity to light (photophobia.) They frequently run in family's and can occur early in life. If you do some research and discuss it with your doctor it may help. An ophthalmic migraine has very diagnostic characteristics. Good luck.
Avatar f tn I went back to the same ophthalmic surgeon here in Houston who performed my Lasik in January 2009 when I noticed rapidly decreasing vision in my right eye. The surgeon and his head Optometrist in his practice were pushing for me to have surgery the following week in my right eye and utilize a Acrysof ReSTOR IOL. They were also adamant that I also have the Acrysof ReSTOR IOL implanted into my left eye a week later following the right eye surgery.
Avatar f tn A month after cataract operation I got occlusion of ophthalmic artery with a loss of peripheral vision very close to central vision. No reason for this event was found. I am scared, because my vision on the eye is loosing contrast vision and I am not sure about the future. Only explanation of my ophthalmologist is the operation trauma and therefore the event will not happen again. Anyway I am scared of blindness, because my left eye was always worse than my right eye.
915277 tn?1252573113 While having a CT w/Infusion for swelling in my Parotid gland (salivary gland between ear & jaw on the face) an Ophthalmic Artery Aneurysm was found on the left side of my brain, it is 4mm. Went to a neurosurgeon for evaluation and he said that because of it's small size and the fact that it was not bubbling out (was smooth) we would not do surgery, but, would keep a close eye on it...CT angio's every six months.
Avatar m tn Hi all, for the past year i have been suffering from what i can only describe constant fuzzy light in my vision. I have had my eyes tested an they found nothing wrong at all. My doctor said it may be a ophthalmic migraine but its been a year now an it hasn't gone. It's not painful but it has started to worry me. Can any give me any advice or does anyone know what may be causing it?
Avatar n tn It was initially thought to be allergies, but the Patanol did not help. Opthamologist then prescribed tobradex, which worked until I came off it. We then moved to longer tobradex usage that tapered over two weeks. Came back again once I came off. Then moved to oral antibiotic for one week and zylet - no results. Now oral antibiotic for two weeks - no results.
