Avatar f tn Hi All, About two months ago I started getting some burning/pain in my upper middle stomach. Over the next week it turned into adding bloating and pretty bad gas pains, constant belching, and slight pains in the ribs. The pain isn’t excruciating but it’s just there enough to be all I think about. The gas and bloating is infuriating. I went to my doc and she started me on Pepcid ac. It seemed to help for about a week then stopped helping.
Avatar n tn You will need to take a combination of medications (under medical supervision) like a proton pump inhibitor such as omeprazole, lansoprazole or pantoprazole empty stomach in the morning and an antacid gel after meals for complete relief. Possibility of H pylori infection too should be looked into by a carbon urea breath test and a combination antibiotic tried. Life style changes that will help include: Avoid heavy meals and eat frequent small meals.
1210142 tn?1266077031 Taking Diltiazem, Lisinopril, Aspirin and Ranitidine as well. Have been having constant stomach and chest pains and the doctors are not able to find the cause- at least they don’t think it is a cardiac one./the chest pains/ My gastroenterologist suggested I stop taking Ranitidine and switch to Pantroprazole. I have read a lot about the interaction between Plavix and PPI’s but he thinks only Omeprazole have more effect on Plavix, not Pantoprazole.
Avatar f tn Welcome to the gastroenterology community! From your profile I see that you are a teenager and I assume you live in the US. I would guess that this is anxiety, which I see that you also have from your profile. Pantoprazole (Protonix) is only by perscription and treats GERD which I don't think you have and Domperidone is not FDA approved in the US so I would not recommend either of these suggestion.
20210291 tn?1492541285 t take the vitamin b pills anymore, I also lowered the pantoprazole dose, I keep feeling worse again, my stomach hurts more often and this stone like feeling is also worse. Since last may I didn`t have my period, probably because I lost weight so rapidly in such short time back then ( I was still able to eat normal when I began losing weight) I don't drink, don't smoke, never did drugs, only drink water and a bland diet since a few months.
Avatar m tn Then I started having stomach pains and I was put on the antacid pantoprazole and a stool softener for constipation. After about a month and a half I was feeling so good I stopped taking the pantoprazole after consulting with my doctor. A week later I was having bad GERD and went back on it. I still don't know what initially caused the bloating, why it ramped up to GERD so quickly off the medication, and how damaged my LES is now.
Avatar m tn A couple of weeks ago I had an Upper Endoscopy of the stomach and duodenum. I have had on and off upper abdominal pain for a month and a half. It is right in the middle area where the solar plexus is. Initially, sometimes the pain was a burning so strong that I couldn't sleep over an hour or two on certain nights. I was initially on Pantoprazole (Protonix) 40mg once per day and Pepcid AC 20mg twice a day for about 3 weeks. I took it for about a week before my Upper Endoscopy.
Avatar f tn Just wanted to inform that I talked to my family doctor and told him about the symptoms he gave me a medicine known as pantoprazole and I just took one in half an hour I got perfection fine all that throwing up sensation and feeling of vomiting nausea all are gone. But still am having a very low oil diet mostly boil.
Avatar f tn It feels like a pressure there and it also feels inflamed and bloats all the way up from my stomach. Im fed up of the pain and sometimes I get reflux of acid or foods too. I don't know what pain is the GERD and what is the gastritis. Some days it calms down then it comes back the next day. I have suffered stomach problems for over two years, recently the pain has been getting a lot worse on these flare ups. Ive not had a week free of symptoms.
Avatar f tn Besides I take the medications all the time, have lost 15kg, in 4 months, I eat as directed by my doctor, I still have the symptoms like, nausea, bloated stomach, and occasionally when my stomach is so bloated I have high heart rate and difficulty in breathing, that cause me a lot of panic and I have finished maybe 9-10 times to ER, where they diagnose me with digestive problems and anxiety like panic attack.
Avatar f tn s been 2 months since i had this fatigue feeling and stomach upset, i gad an ultrasound done for whole abdomen and everything went fine, also had thyroid panel and blood test and lipid panel, all went fine except for slightly elevated triglyceride level and SGPT level.

Avatar n tn For over a month now I have been suffering from stomach pain, nausea, a bit of gas and bloating, and food tasting really weird/gross. I've been taking prescribed antacids for it and lots of generic tums. A similar thing like this occurred a month ago, however, my stomach only hurt when I touched the very lower portion of it then. Today my stomach hurts when I touch it mostly in the middle and when I don't touch it. The pain feels like the inside of my stomach is just raw.
Avatar f tn I was diagnoesd with the gastritis last year via physical exam according to my symstoms like bloating and stomach pain never don an endoscopy i was on and off for PPI (omeprazole and pantoprazole) but never get healed.. Then after that my gp ask for ultrasounds scan and they found multiple stone.. But a bit curios my stomach symptoms are differnt fron gallstone symptoms normally gallstone symptoms are pain in right under the ribcage which is never had that pain..
Avatar m tn I had an endoscopy when I was 16 and the doctors found nothing, so the prescribed me a rather high dose of Pantoprazole, which I had taken until I was 18. After a few years of being on the medicine, I noticed that the Pantoprazole alone wasn't enough to tame my daily heartburn, (which, ironically enough, wasn't set off by certain foods, but in fact tamed it. In the morning before I had eaten, it was especially bed to the point sometimes where I had to vomit. Never any blood.
Avatar f tn I had developed gastritis last september due to excessive intake of antibiotics as i developed stomach flu prior to gastritis. the doctor prescibed acidity tablets for a month. i was feeling ok for a few months then suddenly i developed nausea a week ago and the doctor prescibed tinidizole with acidity tablets. i took for 3 days along with my homeopathy medicine but i still feel heaviness in my head when i lie down so im not able to sleep. kindly advice me what to do.
Avatar n tn For this reason I stopped cold turkey the omepazole and all hell broke loose with reflux, burning stomach, burping and gas. Went to doc who put me on pantoprazole, symptoms after 8 days are subsiding but have decided to slowly wean myself off and stick to diet and Zantec which for me has less side effects. I rue the day the Dr. suggested a daily dose of omepazole . Has anyone tried going off these meds all at once and how did you accomplish this without the acid rebound?
Avatar f tn I had no stomach issues prior to 06/2022 when I had a stomach bug. After that I have had constant nausea which I have to take Zofran daily for. I had and EGD last week and it showed Gastritis and Ulcers in my stomach and small bowel. I was put on Pantoprazole but I want to know what's causing the inflammation and ulcers as I had no problems prior. Very frustrated and just want to feel better. Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn Hi all- first time ever posting in a forum. I'm a 26 year old typically very healthy female. I have recently been diagnosed with IBS but I'm unsure that's what's wrong with me. I have been suffering from diarrhea 12+ times a day for about 7 months now and I have ultimately lost over 15 lbs unintentionally which leaves me underweight. Furthermore, I have severe upper gi pain that is not suppressed by and OC antacids or the prescription PPI I am on.
Avatar m tn a year ago a doctor suspected me of peptic ulcer and he gave me pantoprazole 40mg and domperidone for 2 weeks. Then all symptoms were gone after the treatment. After a few months i started taking this probiotic (with 250 billion cfu) then i started to get bloated, felt like the ulcer symptoms came back. I've been like that for 6 months now. I feel like there's too much gas inside me. I don't have excessive burping/flatulence though.
Avatar n tn Smoking, alcohol use, gastritis, acidity, tumors of stomach and food pipe, bleeding gastric ulcer, cancer of stomach, erosion of lining of food pipe, bleeding veins at esophageal (food pipe) sphincters etc all cause vomiting of blood. This can be fresh red if coming from a place above the stomach. It can be brown or coffee colored if coming from the stomach. Tumors/cancers of the oral cavity or mouth, pyorrhea or pus in gums and Vitamin C deficiency can cause bleeding from mouth.
Avatar m tn I am from India and moved to US in August 2017 for education. I was down with Chikungunya in August 2016 and have abnormal burping since then. I was taking pantoprazole 40mg twice a day along with Antacid but nothing worked. In Jan 2017, I started having pain in lower abdominal and was given Normaxin for approx 20 days - twice a day. No more pain until August 2017. Gradually it started getting better after couple of months and I stopped taking antacid but was taking pantoprazole regularly.
Avatar f tn The results of my colonoscopy and endoscopy were a healthy colon and intestines. My LES was noted as “gaping” and I have rough stomach lining, and there was blood found. They biopsied everything and all biopsies came back normal. I have tested negative for h. pylori twice by stool test and negative one by biopsy. I don’t use any NSAIDS. I just want insight as to why these things are happening to me or why they could be happening.
