Oxymorphone side effects

Common Questions and Answers about Oxymorphone side effects

opana

Avatar f tn I found it to be very good no side effects no high. But they have removed it from the market for some really stupid reasons.
981443 tn?1250115802 Endo has been the major distributor of oxymorphone throughout the world and currently markets oxymorphone in the United States and elsewhere as Opana and Opana ER. Opana is available as 5 mg and 10 mg tablets; Opana ER, an extended-release form of oxymorphone, is available as tablets in strengths of 5 mg, 7½ mg, 10 mg, 15 mg, 20 mg, 30 mg, and 40 mg.
Avatar f tn Methadone is great for pain relief but the respiratory depressant aspects of it are some of the strongest I've ever experienced. I think a few of our members have tried rhe extended relief versions of both the hydromorphone and the oxymorphone and have reported good pain relief with both. I haven't tried either in extended release, so I'm not of much direct help.
Avatar n tn As far as the Opana goes, I did try that once, but like many of the other meds, I ended up in the ER, with a slew of problems/side effects. However,I believe that it was the ER form that I was on. Again, thank you for your suggestions and I will definately research and speak with my doctor about them.
Avatar n tn There is probably some cross tolerance and your doctor applied a 20% cross tolerance factor when converting you from oxycodone to Opana ER. This is to protect you from severe side effects and a potential overdose of the Opana. After switching from one opioid medication to another, most patients require at least one dose titration.
501792 tn?1261111106 m not taking it but I started taking it slowly every 12 hours I felt nauseous and dizzy from it I was getting weird side effects from it like diarrhea she did not want to give me Norco 10s the 325 I've been taking them for 3 years I am diagnosed with disc Denigration disease lower back injury L5/S1 4.
1444483 tn?1468516489 I have tried Opana and have tried many other long acting meds and for me it was not as effective. As far as the side effects were concerned it was the best one I had ever taken thus far. It was as if I hadn't taken anything at all. No bad side effects at all. Other long acting opiods can cause some nasty side effects you really don't want and Opana would really be worth taking if it worked as well as my other meds.
903710 tn?1248389812 Will these side effects go away or should I call my Doctor now, versus waiting till my next appointment which is about 3 weeks away?
Avatar m tn I dont see much about it in these posts but I have been taking oxymorphone(OPANA) for FBS.I have been addicted to Meth cocaine and alcohol in the past but have been free from those chains for 10 years. My disease has resurfaced with this Opana though.I have cut my intake from 20 mg a day to 10 mg a day for the past three days.I have been blessed to avoid the terrible sickness of opiate withdrawl that I went through last year with this **** when I went CT off of it.
Avatar f tn He is finding it more and more difficult to just handle day to day activities, however I am very concerned with the addiction side effects of Opana or any Opiat for that matter. I do not want to see him in a rehab situation because of pain killers. There has to be a better option.
Avatar f tn does this possible side effect go away as your body adjusts like most side effects...OR...is this known to continue w/ opana use? also...if you do end up going up on dosage does that start the side effects all over again or once you go thru intial adjustment u could be home free? fyi--i've been on lortab, vicoden, norco and percocet in the past (at seperate times) and lortab-no drowsy or headache vicoden-drowsy norco-indifferent...
Avatar f tn As my tolerance grew higher I found myself in more pain and experiencing more side effects. Soon my doctor went to prescribing me 8 Opana (oxymorphone) 10 mg a day. This was the beginning of the worst time in my life. I literally am scared out of my mind of running out because I'm frightened I will die... these withdrawals make me feel like my life is ending. I am moving soon to a different city and recently broke up with my boyfriend of 3+ years and this has caused me a great depression.

Avatar f tn I was actually dehydrated and could not pee for my UDtest so they took blood and it came back positive for oxymorphone, noroxycodone, and noroxymorphone at low levels but on a zero tolerance test any amount is a positive. Are these items that could be from just taking the oxycodone and my body coverts it to this or is the test flawed.
Avatar f tn I’ve been taking 5mg oxymorphone extended release pills for 8 years. I recently had to switch primary care doctors because mine moved away. The first urine drug test I was asked to do was last Friday and they called today and said the drug didn’t show up in my system, and dropped me as a patient. I should start withdrawals tomorrow & I’m scared out of my mind. I’ve never failed a drug test, asked for an early refill, nothing like that.
Avatar m tn I take them as prescribed with little to no pain relief and terrible side effects. They tear up my stomach and give me horrible indigestion. Yet, my DR wont switch me to something different.
Avatar f tn Thanx for that great information Jeff. I found that interesting; that the cost of this drug can be so expensive when purchased illegally. To include the patient that was taking upwards of 700mg a day? When you honestly put all this into perspective, all oxycodone/contin is...is synthetic heroin. My personal hands on experience with this pain killer has been a "love hate relationship".
Avatar m tn I have built up a tolerance to oxycodone IR that I have had to take 3 times my dose just to get my pain to get down to a moderate level. The research I have done is that oxymorphone is stronger and less mg. I have several questions. Are taking less mg easier on the body? How do I ask my doctor to switch, I don't want to seem like just another patient trying to get high.
Avatar f tn Problem is that when the opioid dosage gets up to the large amounts above, undesirable side effects increase significantly which can limit the amount you can take comfortably, and most importantly, safely. A slow titration up can help minimize these side effects but most still experience a large amount of undesirable side effects at large dosages.
Avatar m tn Dres, How I look forward to 10 mg a day. I'm tapering and am not there yet. Sounds to me you could write a book based on your post but I guess the side effects are something we all have to go through. I'm surprised though to the level each person feels. I'm reading folks who have relatively minimal side affects vs. overwhelming effects others feel. I keep thinking back to how I used to be, happy, viral and quick thinking.
