501792 tn?1261111106 0 mm I found old medicine in the cabinet Norco 10/325 from November 2013 under my name and now I am taking Norco Plus oxyContin I am scared to death now I have horrible pain in my lower back what r the substitute For oxycontin I want to take one painkiller one time long time ago February 2013 my doctor gave me oxymorphone er 20 milligrams and I got mad at her I told her history that my mom got sick in the hospital when she had a operation she was throwing up and I was paranoid taking oxymorphone
Avatar m tn I dont see much about it in these posts but I have been taking oxymorphone(OPANA) for FBS.I have been addicted to Meth cocaine and alcohol in the past but have been free from those chains for 10 years. My disease has resurfaced with this Opana though.I have cut my intake from 20 mg a day to 10 mg a day for the past three days.I have been blessed to avoid the terrible sickness of opiate withdrawl that I went through last year with this **** when I went CT off of it.
Avatar f tn Also 15mg's if oxymorphone ER. Morphine 39mgs ER didn't do a Dan think. The oxymorphone us better but far from great. The ixycidibe doesn't work at 5mgs. No I gave not built up a tolerance because I only take the oxycidibe when I need it. What U do is rake 5nfs if oxycodone and 3 or 4 hours later take another tablet. I never double the dose. I think 10mgs is the minimum I should be prescribed. Are any if you in the sane situation as I am. I'm very angry about this!!!
Avatar f tn Did they check off oxymorphone (opana) or morphine on the lab slip? Oxymorphone (Opana) is a semi-synthetic opioid, unlike morphine which is an opiate. If there was an error is the test request, that could explain the false negative. Btw, Opana is available in generic form- oxymorphone hcl ER by globabal pharmaceuticals. I know because I take it currently.
1444483 tn?1468516489 OPANA ER (oxymorphone hydrochloride extended release) contains oxymorphone, which is a morphine-like opioid agonist and a Schedule II controlled substance, with an abuse liability similar to other opioid analgesics." The symptoms you are experiencing is probably your system adjusting to the new, stronger opiate. Once your body adjusts, these symptoms should greatly reduce if not cease. I wish you well and hope that your new meds will be effective in controlling your pain.
Avatar f tn Soon my doctor went to prescribing me 8 Opana (oxymorphone) 10 mg a day. This was the beginning of the worst time in my life. I literally am scared out of my mind of running out because I'm frightened I will die... these withdrawals make me feel like my life is ending. I am moving soon to a different city and recently broke up with my boyfriend of 3+ years and this has caused me a great depression. I feel like my entire life has ended because everything I have grown to know is now over.
2054191 tn?1330453621 Morphine is lower in strength than Oxycodone but Oxymorphone is the strongest pain medicine available in pill form. The next tier up from Oxymorphone is Fentanyl. Even with taking 36 norcos a day, you are not opioid tolerant enough for oxymorphone or fentanyl. You need to be on 60 mg of morphine a day consistently for at least 1-2 weeks before switching to oxymorphone or fentanyl. There is also Dilaudid which is slightly weaker than oxymorphone.
Avatar m tn Opana is oxymorphone and it is a strong opiate. It is a long half life drug and if u do not abuse it, it may help u. Roxy is a short acting drug which trains ur brain to crave it every 4-6 hours due to the endorphin release produced when u take drugs like narcoticis. there is an article in the health pages on dopamine and narcotics. I have never heard of using opana to stop drugs cos it is a strong narc and i would be careful.
494669 tn?1275362475 Have you tried any non-narcotic options? I tend to be wary of those who are on narcotics long-term, as addiction is almost assured (you won't even know it's crept up on you until it's too late). Even if you take them as prescribed, they'll catch up with you at some point. I started taking Hydromorphone & Oxymorphone for kidney-stone pain & urinary related pain, and thought that taking 'as prescribed' precluded me from addiction. Wrong.
981443 tn?1250115802 Endo has been the major distributor of oxymorphone throughout the world and currently markets oxymorphone in the United States and elsewhere as Opana and Opana ER. Opana is available as 5 mg and 10 mg tablets; Opana ER, an extended-release form of oxymorphone, is available as tablets in strengths of 5 mg, 7½ mg, 10 mg, 15 mg, 20 mg, 30 mg, and 40 mg.
Avatar n tn For example, 1 mg of oxymorphone is stronger than 1 mg of oxycodone...to be precise, oxymorphone is approx. 2 times stronger than oxycodone. Therefore, to get equivalent strength of oxymorphone through oxycodone, one has to take their oxymorphone dosage and multiply it by 2 to yield equivalent oxycodone dosing in mgs.
Avatar m tn opana is oxymorphone, it is more potent than morphine and is somewhat similiar to oxycontin, it has lots of recreational abuse, as long as a good drug for pain management, when needed...
Avatar f tn I was actually dehydrated and could not pee for my UDtest so they took blood and it came back positive for oxymorphone, noroxycodone, and noroxymorphone at low levels but on a zero tolerance test any amount is a positive. Are these items that could be from just taking the oxycodone and my body coverts it to this or is the test flawed.
Avatar f tn I’ve been taking 5mg oxymorphone extended release pills for 8 years. I recently had to switch primary care doctors because mine moved away. The first urine drug test I was asked to do was last Friday and they called today and said the drug didn’t show up in my system, and dropped me as a patient. I should start withdrawals tomorrow & I’m scared out of my mind. I’ve never failed a drug test, asked for an early refill, nothing like that.
Avatar m tn I have built up a tolerance to oxycodone IR that I have had to take 3 times my dose just to get my pain to get down to a moderate level. The research I have done is that oxymorphone is stronger and less mg. I have several questions. Are taking less mg easier on the body? How do I ask my doctor to switch, I don't want to seem like just another patient trying to get high.
Avatar f tn I've just been switched from Fentanyl 25mcg every 48 hrs to Oxymorphone 10mg every 12hrs. I feel way worse (pain) & was wondering if anyone knows what the equivalence is between the 2. I have a feeling I've just been decreased in pain relief. My dr & the pharmacist told me to wait a few days to "feel it's working" & in the meantime I'm in excruciating pain. Can anyone help with what I can do here? Btw...
Avatar f tn I am going through serious withdrawal. I suffer chronic back and hip pain and my doctor can't seem to find the source of the pain. So I started to medicate myself. I started off with oxy 30s. then I started dating a guy who also is in chronic pain and when I would start getting "sick" from not being able to get the 30s he gave he some of his oxymorphone, opana, and I don't want to continue taking his meds anymore.
Avatar f tn Oxycodone is metabolized by the liver into oxymorphone. Oxymorphone is about 2 times stronger than oxycodone based on pharmacology. When I was first switched to Opana, the drowsiness and tiredness were unreal! It was a real struggle for me at first and I also have a desk job. However, the sedation effects only lasted for a month at the most. Now I don't get sedated anymore and in fact I am more alert than I was on Morphine.
Avatar f tn Was on Tramadol for the past 7 months, up to 400mg a day for severe neck/back injury/pain due to a car accident 8 months ago. My pain management doc gave me this Oxymorphone 5mg. up to 3 times daily yesterday. Doc said try this, but if that doesn't work, its epidural cervical injections and possible surgery. I'm worried about addiction now, w/ all these pills they throw at me.
Avatar f tn will it show up if being tested for opioids or just synthetic opioids? i came up positive on a drug screen for oxymorphone and i was perscribed to percocet.. can u please explain?
Avatar f tn Stands to reason that: 2 x 5mg Percocet = 1 x 10mg Oxycontin Don't quote me on that though. I know Percocet has both Oxymorphone AND Acetaminophen in it, and Oxycontin has Oxymorphone only. I'm not certain what the Acetaminophen brings to the table as far as drug-interactions go, but your statement that the Perc and the Oxy are the same (2x5mg vs. 1x10mg) sounds about right. Maybe someone in the Pain-Management Community would know.
Avatar m tn Opana ER, an extended-release form of oxymorphone. It is more potent than Norco. I am the first to admit that I am not an expert in withdrawal or anything for that matter. However it is my understanding that going to a higher or more potent opiate will mask any withdrawal symptoms from a lesser opiate. His physician apparently wants him to take the Opana ER routinely and the Opana IR for break thought pain. This is not unusual.
Avatar m tn THE GENERIC NAME FOR OPANA IS OXYMOPHONE. OXYMORPHONE IS GIVEN ORALLY IN EITHER ER (EXTENDED RELEASE), OR IR (IMMEDIATE RELEASE) IT IS VERY HIGHLY ADDICTIVE. MOST ABUSERS CRUSH AND SNORT IT LIKE OC USERS. SOME ALSO INJECT IT. I WAS AN ADDICT FOR EIGHT YEARS. AND A FUNCTIONING ONE AT THAT. BUT ONCE I ESCALATED TO OPANA, WITHIN THREE MONTHS I WAS COMPLETELY OUT OF IT. I COULD NO LONGER DO MY JOB OR SUPPORT MY WIFE AND CHILD IN ANY OTHER WAY.
Avatar n tn have been clean for months I have been taking suboxon 2mg twice a day and an antidepresent every day I see my doctor once a week and drop urine every time on the initial test I have been clean but when it comes up on the computer he says that i have oxymorphone in my system, this just cant be what could cause this.
