oxycontin video

My brother is 23, he has been addicted to oxycontin for 3 years. He recently was arrested and charged with poss. of a controlled substance with intent to manufacturer, deliver or sell. He had a large amount of oxycontin in his car and was not selling it. I'm his sister (25) and i bailed him out of jail. He has come to live with me. I want him to get sober, The charges are likely to be dropped because the cop broke his wrist while the police video SHOWS he is not resisting arrest at all.

first, forgive me if this has been asked... (newbee). i've taken oxycontin for about 10 yrs due to pain but now i can't do anything without it or just feel that way. i was takin 2 80mg's twice a day and 2 10mg lortab's at most twice a day as breakthrough med. i can't remember hurting as bad as i do now. for the last three months or so i've cut down to 1 40mg twice a day. 5 days ago i quit cold turkey. it's a b%*&ch!

on December 28th (gods willing) I will have 10 years free from crack cocaine... every year around this time of year, all the memories come flooding back...not in a pile or overwhelming...but glimpses of memories of using...of making connections, picking up, waiting outside, etc. I'll be driving down the same road I've drived down all year and suddenly BAM...i'll have a 'flashback' of a time where I hooked up on this or that corner...

Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum. I do believe that The Chiari Insitute has a video on this proceedure and others..... I have not watched it as I am the type that does not want to see that until after and maybe not even then...I have a sensitive stomach.....

I guess on THIS site specifics can't be discussed. But I have seen sites with very specific hints, details and help on... the "T" word. :) I will say "yes," however. What I have heard others do is to keep a minute by minute diary about your feelings, desires, etc. And also calendar the time you take a pill. For most people, such concept fails because they don't understand about the "lag effect" when taking a pill, so they take another one, two or three.

i agree with lostmakeupgirl. i also am a VALID PAIN MANAGEMENT PATIENT. i didn't think id become a junkie over oxycontin but i did. i didn't think id stoop to the lows i have done but i did. i also find it rude and non productive to tell addicts how selfish we are. and if you reread rhe post he/she is scared that we will be the reason the drug is pulled from his/her life. that is the start of addiction in itself. reread how focused fourfer is on that. and fourfer is uneducated.

Is there anyone who has any tips for how to go through a bad oxycontin withdrawal? I am wondering if there are any specific foods, vitamins, activities etc. that will help shorten or relieve the inevitable withdrawals. I feel so foolish for ever getting myself addicted to these horrible things. It started when I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed years ago and the doctor gave me a prescription. Now I have been off an on them for years. I need to get my life back.

Ive been taking about 100mgs of oxycontin a day for about 1.5 month now. What do i do? Quit cold turkey or taper off? I cannot take days off work.

I just found out my son, 20 has been using oxycontin for 2years. He takes about 3 80mg. He is now barely functioning and takes them all during the day. We saw a doctor that wants to start him on suboxone. I am ovewrwhelmed and don't know what to do.

If you want to use the Tylenol 3 to get off the oxycontin so that it is easier to quit the tylenol 3 rather than oxy, then yes that is a better plan and you would also be in less severe withdrawl by doing this.. But you do not want to try and replace that feeling you were getting from the oxy with tylenol 3 because no matter how much you take it will never make you feel as strong as the oxy either..

I'm wondering if 1 oxycontin (80mg) that my BF gives me every day to assist in my wean will help me. I am having minimal WD signs but the physical pain for which I was initially prescribed 3 Dils (8mgs each) per day by the former doc comes roaring back every morning. I am no longer on the Dilaudids.

m 25 and been abusing Oxycontin's for 6 years now. I have tried to cold turkey it several and i mean several times in the past few years, and now i have a 2 year old daughter and a fiance' (which i can say is totally agenst the abuse of medications, pot, alcohol ect...) but what she doesn't understand is why i relaps so much when tryin' to get off these drugs. I feel so alone, and that no one understands me.

I have been using narcotic painkillers off and on since about 12th grade. (I am now 22). I was clean from Feb 2005- August 2006. In the past 6 months I have been taking about 5-6 10mg percocets everyday. Within the past month I have been either doing that or snorting ATLEAST 1 80mg oxycontin a day. My friends finally found out about my "double life" and this gave me a strong incentive to quit. I havent touched any opiates in about 48 hours...

I have a standing order with a pain management dr that gives me oxycontin 40mgs 4 x per day for gout pain that comes from the kidney ailment among other things. I will not lie- I usually munch them up at the beggining of each day. makes me feel happy for about 5 to 6 hours. I know this is addict behaviour. I am an addict. I will not dare tell my dr this.

I've been on oxycontin for about two years for pain. I've since had surgery and am coming off them now. I was doing 40mg 3 times a day. My Doctor told me to cut down gradually. So i'm doing 30mg for a week then 20mg for a week 10mg etc. I'm surprisingly still feeling a bit uncomfortable though. My main complaints would be lack of sleeping soundly or for 7-8 hours straight. I seem to sleep for 2-3 hours then i'm wide awake. Also I just feel like I can't fully relax.
