I just got off the phone with two respected pharmacists I know personally. Ethex did indeed go out of business.I was told that the 5mg IR tablets as well as the 15mg tablets are no longer being made b/c Ethex was the only company making them. But.... their is a capsule form to these strengths that is available. Oxycontin is not affected by Ethex. Well, that is all I know, so I thought I would pass this on.

I was telling my pharmacist about how well the ethex worked and the Mallinkrodt did nothing compared to the ethex and she explained to me why! This is why I know I was actually taking the 15mg instead of the 5mg.

I have been taking the roxicodone ( oxycodone IR) for awhile and had to have them switched to a different medication because no one around here ( Florida) has them. Ethex is under FDA investigation and they have stopped all medications there so there is only one company now (malikroft) and they are really seriously backed up on orders. This is so very frustrating as I was doing well on the meds for break thru pain. Are you having to change your medication regimen because of this problem?

The vitamin i take is prenatal rx tab ethex. When i was hearing about geritol i looked it up and the ethex has just about the same about of b-vitamins as geritol. I get nauseated if i dont eat nothing before taking the vitamin. There are so many brands and kinds out there, i guess choose whats going to give you the best supplement for you and baby. example, if you consume a lot of milk daily, you dont want a vitamin that has the max of vitamin d.

I have also had adverse reactions to the generic Metoprolol I was put on. I was given the generic by Ethex, yet both the generics by Ethex and Sandoz have been proven to NOT contain the same ingredients (inactive) as Toprol, nor are they the same size or disposition. It caused me to have onset chest pains again, and lightheadedness and tingling sensations in my chest, arms, head and body.

i agree with lostmakeupgirl. i also am a VALID PAIN MANAGEMENT PATIENT. i didn't think id become a junkie over oxycontin but i did. i didn't think id stoop to the lows i have done but i did. i also find it rude and non productive to tell addicts how selfish we are. and if you reread rhe post he/she is scared that we will be the reason the drug is pulled from his/her life. that is the start of addiction in itself. reread how focused fourfer is on that. and fourfer is uneducated.

Is there anyone who has any tips for how to go through a bad oxycontin withdrawal? I am wondering if there are any specific foods, vitamins, activities etc. that will help shorten or relieve the inevitable withdrawals. I feel so foolish for ever getting myself addicted to these horrible things. It started when I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed years ago and the doctor gave me a prescription. Now I have been off an on them for years. I need to get my life back.

Ive been taking about 100mgs of oxycontin a day for about 1.5 month now. What do i do? Quit cold turkey or taper off? I cannot take days off work.

If you want to use the Tylenol 3 to get off the oxycontin so that it is easier to quit the tylenol 3 rather than oxy, then yes that is a better plan and you would also be in less severe withdrawl by doing this.. But you do not want to try and replace that feeling you were getting from the oxy with tylenol 3 because no matter how much you take it will never make you feel as strong as the oxy either..

I'm wondering if 1 oxycontin (80mg) that my BF gives me every day to assist in my wean will help me. I am having minimal WD signs but the physical pain for which I was initially prescribed 3 Dils (8mgs each) per day by the former doc comes roaring back every morning. I am no longer on the Dilaudids.

m 25 and been abusing Oxycontin's for 6 years now. I have tried to cold turkey it several and i mean several times in the past few years, and now i have a 2 year old daughter and a fiance' (which i can say is totally agenst the abuse of medications, pot, alcohol ect...) but what she doesn't understand is why i relaps so much when tryin' to get off these drugs. I feel so alone, and that no one understands me.

I have been using narcotic painkillers off and on since about 12th grade. (I am now 22). I was clean from Feb 2005- August 2006. In the past 6 months I have been taking about 5-6 10mg percocets everyday. Within the past month I have been either doing that or snorting ATLEAST 1 80mg oxycontin a day. My friends finally found out about my "double life" and this gave me a strong incentive to quit. I havent touched any opiates in about 48 hours...

I have a standing order with a pain management dr that gives me oxycontin 40mgs 4 x per day for gout pain that comes from the kidney ailment among other things. I will not lie- I usually munch them up at the beggining of each day. makes me feel happy for about 5 to 6 hours. I know this is addict behaviour. I am an addict. I will not dare tell my dr this.
