Avatar f tn He offered help me to sweep the floor/yard. Hanging and picking up the clothes. He also concentrated on the weather make sure he picked up the clothes before it rained. He'll miss if he slept all the day long! LOL. He liked sleep (usually longer hour than us). He said to me, when getting old all the bones shrink, so can feel the body aching. He said exercise is important. Even he was on the bed, he also moving his toes and fingers a lot.
Avatar f tn t know much about oxybutynin, but I know that a lot of medications mess with the natural balance of the body. I just wonder what damage we've done to our bodies from long-term use of prescription drugs.
Avatar f tn As far back as I can remember I get hot extremely easily and sweat profusely on my forehead, middle of my chest, and middle of my back. The heat seems to come in almost a wave, and I can feel it rising until it reaches my head(hope this description makes sense), and I can never seem to cool down. An odd part about this is, on occasion, my feet will be extremely cold at the same time. If I'm not wearing socks or shoes my feet will be almost painful, they're that cold.
Avatar f tn Depending on what could happen because of the ingestion of the pill, it could be that your dog needs supportive care, and the sooner this care is begun, the more successful it will be.
Avatar f tn I Cher, I too was diagnose with IC in 2008. It is a tricky disease that one. Have you had any surgeries that would account for the pain? Did you try Hydroxyzine by any chance. I'm sorry you have to deal with this and there is no easy answer. Do you have ulcers in your bladder, have you tried instillations? I personnaly have not used elmiron or instillations because my URO doesn't believe in them, so curious if you have tried them.
Avatar f tn Get your urologist or GP to prescribe you an anti-spasmodic medication. I use Oxybutynin, as it works best for me, but there are numerous others on the market. Are you sure your stone is 4cm??? That's awfully large for a kidney-stone. There are 'staghorn' stones that form inside the kidney itself and fill the cavities of the kidney (the 'poles' of the kidney) that may get that large, but the chances of having a 4cm stone in your bladder are slim.

Avatar f tn I'm 33 year old male, I was diagnosed with phimosis 2yrs ago. I've been having the constant urge to urinate but with only a low flow and sometimes spraying. I've been through testing for uti, std, bladder cancer (cystoscopy) but yet know one can give me an answer as to why I always have the urge. I've taken meds (flomax, oxybutynin, and diptromin) none of them worked. Help!!! I'm to young for this to be happening.
Avatar n tn Go with lots and lots of fiber, at least the minimun daily requirement and this should help unless she is developing IBS. Try this and if it doesn't work have her see a GI dr.
Avatar m tn t go now his body will force him to go eventually and it may be too late. By nipping things in the bud we can prevent any serious problems in the future. You should also get him on probiotics either a supplement or yogurt enriched with it. We are more apt to develop polyps after the age of 50 and that's why they suggest we start having colonoscopies at age 50.
Avatar n tn Are the blood blisters in the arms and legs of some elderly a vitamin or mineral deficiency? If so, what will help? This discussion is related to blood blisters.

Avatar f tn I have tightness around the lower stomach area and it takes me forever to empty my bladder in the morning, although I have no problems sleeping and don’t need to wake up to urinate in the night. I have most recently been treated with 4 weeks of antibiotics, firstly with flucloxacillin which made the symptoms go away for about 3 months before returning, then more recently with trimethoprim which didn’t work quite as well and symptoms went away for a month before returning.

Avatar m tn this started out of the blue. itchy sensation in the urethra of my penis that feels like i need to pee. when i pee, i dont have any pain, blood or discharge, but when done peeing, it feels like i still need to go. the more i try to go the more the itchiness seems to intensify. if i dont go, it usually goes away or decreases after 1-2 hours. at this point, when i start feeling i need to go, i know this is real and that i really need to go.
161427 tn?1229911282 I would like to do a short experiment by taking my mother-in-law off Plavix for a few days while she is in her normal living conditions at the nursing home. However, I have not seen dementia listed in any materials related to Plavix, so no one caring for my mother-in-law takes this idea seriously. Does anyone have any experience with this situation? Could it be dangerous to take her off the Plavix for a few days? Are there any substitutes for Plavix that might work better?
Avatar f tn She has just seemed a bit unsettled since this peeing in the house started. I know she is elderly and that some things may seem inevitable. I was wondering if this could be a bladder infection or kidney trouble?

Avatar n tn Hi Grace, She has the horrible burning in her back. She was diagnosed with "shingles" several years ago after a doctor noticed the blisters. Most of the time she doesn't break out, but just has the internal symptoms. They are almost always on her back. She has had several different episodes in the last year or so and they usually last for weeks. She was diagnosed this week from a blood test. She had a really severe case of shingles years and years ago. Thanks!
Avatar f tn According to an article in the international journal Research on Aging in 2009, the elderly population in China will have tripled by 2050. Norway and China are in many ways extreme opposites when it comes to family policy. Under China's policy responsibility for the family rests entirely with families themselves. There are almost no institutions for the elderly, and few elderly people receive pensions.
Avatar n tn d bladder contraction/spasms. These are daily... all day... and now waking her in the night. She is going half crazy from the constant discomfort, which she eases by pressing on her vag area. This is interfering, of course, with her everday life. Most other posts I read include bed wetting and loss of urine as a cooresponding symptom but this is not that frequent. She does urinate more often than my other child and cannot hold her urine long if she needs to go.
495284 tn?1333894042 If worse comes to worse, do they sell puppy pads for the floor as they do in Britain? I am house training Lady at the moment but have decided to go it alone without them, might help for an older dog though.
