Avatar m tn Is Oxybutynin dangerous to dogs? I am not sure my dog ate a pill, but I did drop 1 or 2 on the floor. I found one. My 6-month-old spaniel/lab mix is about 30 lbs.
Avatar m tn Hello, I recently had a rigid cystoscopy and I have been placed on Pinexel PR for 2 months by my urologist. I had a bladder neck level problem and BPH. I have some issues with this medication, specifically retrograde ejaculation which is not acceptable for me at 26 years old. My question is, are there alternative medications which deal with the problem (shrinking prostate instead of masking the symptoms) and could this be prostatitis as I have had UTI's in the past.
Avatar m tn In fact, nowadays his urinary problems due to BPH had almost subsided, hence he had stopped taking the BPH medication. Its only when he gets the gout attacks for which he has to take voveran, when this problem starts. Would it help to take the BPH medication when he is taking the painkiller for gout? Thanks for the diet & other precautions that you have mentioned. We would try changing the painkillers and hope that it helps. Thanks again for everything. I would get back if required.
Avatar n tn I am 64 years old and have had BPH symptoms for about eighteen years. My symptoms have become progressively more severe with time and I probably should be considering some form of surgical intervention. Although the various surgical options are effective, I do not perceive any of them to be an elegant approach to this problem. Therefore, I have made a decision to do nothing in the surgical arena until I absolutely have no other choice.
Avatar f tn Funny enough you mention this I took Oxybutynin for awhile and a bit excessively, I keep thinking that this messed up my gut and caused this curse of a phenomenon.
Avatar m tn I underwent TURP on 11 th Feb for BPH and got discharged after 5 days after removal of catheter I am having a small flow of urine leaking in standing posture and walking mode. My urologist advised Kegel exercise which I am doing.
Avatar f tn Can I take 2 or 3 Ibuprofen and 1 phenazoptridine 100mg and 1 oxybutynin 5mg The Dr, gave me Cipro to take 2 hrs, before I go to Drs, will this help me or not? If not what can I do to prevent the bad pain I hear about after stent removal. please help me.
Avatar m tn I am a 69 year old male with BPH, and a father who had prostate cancer for 15 years, but did not die from it. I have had two bouts of acute prostatitis causing complete retention in the last 7 years, one requiring catheterization. My PSA averages around 2.0, and I take Proscar and Cardura daily. My BPH symptoms are fairly mild causing only about one or two nights a month of nocturia, reduced urine flow, and hardly ever the feeling of urgency.
Avatar f tn I'm 33 year old male, I was diagnosed with phimosis 2yrs ago. I've been having the constant urge to urinate but with only a low flow and sometimes spraying. I've been through testing for uti, std, bladder cancer (cystoscopy) but yet know one can give me an answer as to why I always have the urge. I've taken meds (flomax, oxybutynin, and diptromin) none of them worked. Help!!! I'm to young for this to be happening.
Avatar f tn It is not uncommon that men develop the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) such as urinary frequency, weak stream and difficulty starting and starting their stream as they age. Patients with BPH can have worsening symptoms over time and as the prostate continues to grow, the relief provided by flomax may be diminish. There is another class of medications, such as Uroxatral, which can help shrink your prostate and improve your symptoms.
Avatar n tn I had no prostatic/urinary symptoms. I got an MRI of prostate and TRUS guided FNAC done. Both revealed signs of BPH (39mmX39mmX56mm) and FNAC revealed signs of chronic prostatitis. DRE (which, incidentally and wrongly was done after FNAC) revealed a slight firmness (no nodule) on the right side. I took a long course of ofloxacin which dropped the PSA to 12.75 after 3 months. I continued the ofloxacin hoping for further improvement, but after 6 more weeks the PSA remained the same.
Avatar n tn I can't use Flomax or other alpha blockers due to side effects -- disturbed sleep. Uroxatral even caused me to sleepwalk 15 feet from a nap on the sofa one evening, waking when I fell flat on my face in the next room! Separately, due to a Vitamin D deficiency my doc found, he put me on 50,000 units Vitamin D per week for 8 weeks, followed by biweekly doses. And guess what...the Vitamin D almost instantly "cured" the BPH.
Avatar n tn I was sent to a urologist who gave me a questionnaire to fill out for BPH, which showed me to be negative for all symptoms but one ( getting up once during the night to urinate (I drink a cup of tea before bed)) I told him all about my blood in the semen problem and he said it was nothing to worry about, probably a broken blood vessel or something. Then, even though the BPH questionnaire showed me to be nowhere near having it, the urologist wrote me a prescription for Finasteride.
Avatar n tn I was cathetirized, and foley catheter was inserted. The doctor diagnosed my condition as BPH, and put me on 2 drugs (Folex and Avodart). After a week, the FC was removed. However, I still could not pass urine in the normal way (amount, flow etc.), and hence had to be recatheterized. I was on the re-inserted FC for a further 3 weeks, and it was removed yesterday.
Avatar m tn Last year or so have weak urine stream, frequent urination as if I have BPH but my PSA has been only 1.03 for the last three years and the urologist told me today my prostate felt normal. He is sending me for kidney ultrasound and will do a cytoscopy to check my urethra and bladder. Sounds like a cyst or cancer?
Avatar n tn My uro MD has suggested cryotherapy for My BPH. I have not read or heard much about it being used for this. Would love to know more opinions before going this route.
Avatar f tn My main symptom was urethritis and frequent need to urinate. The urologist did various tests and diagnosed BPH. He gave me tamulosin and my symptoms seemed to improve. Then they returned a month ago along with the same rash, which looks like herpes penis head outbreak. I had prodrome tingling, nerve tingling and numbness in my legs. A month on and the symptoms are finally abating. Again, I went to STD clinic but the rash had cleared and they said it may be fungal.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with BPH a year ago and was given Flomax. I had to go to Iceland and forgot my Flomax. My friend was taking a local product available over the counter called SAGAPRO made from a herb called Angelica. I used it and to my suprise...it worked. It even works better than Flomax! Do you know why this herb is so good for the prostate? Are their any side effects....I have noticed I am breathing better and also sleeping better. I have not used my inhaler since I have been on the sagapro.
Avatar f tn Hello, My 88 year old father with a history (12 years ago) of triple CABG is now experiencing random spells of syncope. He has had a holter monitor, doppler echocardiogram, and stress test within the past month and all came up fine. He's on a variety of cardiac medication (and has for a while now since his CABG) and the only new medical incident is severe BPH w/ hematuria (he's had a cystoscope). He's also had two congestive heart failure attacks.
Avatar m tn At 65 I was told I was "late" in getting BPH, but as anyone knows, better late but not better than never with this one. Anyway, I have tried Epsom Salt baths and UrinoZinc, as I did not like Tamsulosin at all. It made my breathing labored, and I don't like the idea of Retrograde Ejaculation. I have had painful external orgasms and urination, and although my enlargement is not that bad-the Urologist told me it was .5 and had others at 1 and 1.
Avatar f tn Hello Everyone, I am a 32 male, 5'10, 205lbs. I work out 5-6 times a week and eat on the healthier side. As far back as I can remember I get hot extremely easily and sweat profusely on my forehead, middle of my chest, and middle of my back. The heat seems to come in almost a wave, and I can feel it rising until it reaches my head(hope this description makes sense), and I can never seem to cool down. An odd part about this is, on occasion, my feet will be extremely cold at the same time.
