Common Questions and Answers about Osteoarthritis knee video

Avatar n tn I have a bad back (no cushion between 4 and 5 + more) and have experienced pain like no other. A Baker's Cyst also popped up last month at an also bad knee (torn ligaments never corrected). As of a few weeks ago, my Rheumatologist told me I have osteoarthritis in my hands. Last week I had a bone scan and was told I also have osteoporosis. I take 10 different meds a day( asthma, thyroid, high blood pressure, hot flashes, ibs, gird, and lupus) and am so tired of it all.
Avatar n tn I had the scope because of osteoarthritis of the knee with severe osteoarthritis of the patellofemoral joint and was hoping the surgery would buy me a few more years to work. This was a big mistake because I am in more pain now than before the surgery.
Avatar m tn Osteosrthiritis and for right knee: F/S/O Osteoarthiritis. I am a 60 yr old male having Hypertension 130/90 weighing 93 kgs. I am practising yoga under an MBBS doctors supervision who primarily provide traction using props. The doctors there have advised not to cycle at all and also not to walk unless necessary. Is this the right advice? I need to reduce my weight. Can i use the cycle? since other orthopedic doctors i consulted have suggested that i should cycle.
Avatar m tn My left knee has bothered me off and on for over a year but now is a constant pain, worsening at night or longer periods slightly bent during the day. When the leg is straightened, instead of the "crease" showing the inner side of the kneecap, there is a HARD knot almost to the bottom, inside area of the kneecap. The entire knee swells at night, but not lots. Ice and / or heat packs do not take the "lump" down in size but help with the general swelling.
5509293 tn?1428535075 I just remember my right thigh burning so much because of the extra lifting it had to do to make up for the loss of my foot's dorsiflexion and for me to maintain the illusion of normal walking instead of the classic flipper 'walk-slap' of steppage gait.
Avatar m tn My symptoms are legs and knee pain and weakness, sinus at regular intervals, high uric acid, cancer marker test and RA arthritis marker test is negative. Hiv test also negative after 11 months after last protected intercourse.
209987 tn?1451939065 kind of a restless guilt, when they aren't doing something? I hurt my knee and have to sit here...I can't sit still!! I need to do things...anything...my doctor just doesn't get it! How do you make them understand? They want me to have surgery and that requires staying off my feet for 6 weeks!!! I CAN'T do that!! I think I need to find a new GP...one that has ADD/ADHD...so that he'll understand.
Avatar f tn Bone spurs can cause pain. So it's not just fibromyalgia. I saw a video on medhelp about an amazing robotic surgery for backs that is supposed to be so much better for recovery than traditional back surgery- it sounded really interesting. RE: headaches, dizziness and light sensitivity, and other symptoms- have they ever done an MRI of your brain to look for any abnormal growths, tumors, or evidence of MS?
1840891 tn?1431551393 Mimi Guarneri Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine several sites will come up, including a good video. You can get a good idea of what she believes and the focus of the Institute. You live in California so perhaps you are close enough to make an appointment and discuss your situation and health issues and concerns with a doctor at the Scripps Center.
Avatar n tn 90% of the time I get the pain which is about 4 inches above my knee on the inside of the thigh at night and it is very painful and long lasting. During the day I have times when it feels like someone has driven a knife in me but it only lasts a few seconds. I have a spot where you can press and it hurts alot but otherwise it doesn't affect my daily life. I am very athletic and have not stopped doing anything but this is really affecting my sleep. If anyone learns anything, please post.
476246 tn?1418874514 Hi Marcia, Sounds like osteoarthritis to me. I have it in most of the joints in my body, and while it was annoying before, it is really wearing me down now. Joint pain seems to be often aggravated by Tx, at least for me. In fact, the head, neck, shoulder and spine aches are the most devastating thing about these meds, which I've now been on for 47 weeks. Don't get me wrong - the foggy headed, short tempered, itchy skinned, thin haired stuff are no picnic either.
Avatar n tn It happens about 2x a day, lasts a few seconds and it has moved around my body. Started in the left wrist, went to the left knee, then ankle, and the over to the right knee. Now it's been happening behind my right thigh for about 2 weeks. Very strange.
Avatar n tn I have felt great except for knee pain from arthritis. Having knee replacement soon. This summer has been more humid than usual, but otherwise I feel this is the best move I've ever made. Expecting my first grandchild but I don't want to go back to NY. Miss family but my health is more important. I can always visit.
Avatar n tn Dear all, please reply my message, I am very worried and do not know what to do, and kink of panicking. I am 30 and this is the first week I have experienced this creaking noise when I turn my head, especially to left. It is like a popping noise. I have been going to the gym for the past 7 months, 3 times a week. Never had problems like this before this week. Recently I have started doing this "Russian twists" at the cable machine (here is a video): http://www.youtube.com/watch?
211940 tn?1267884866 And believe me I know pain I've had 2 total knee replacements over last 4 years.. this pain is in the same range as the knee pain...10 plus !!!!! Best of luck to us all.
475586 tn?1225027354 My knees do have osteoarthritis in them--I had an MRI. I also have 2 herniated discs in my neck and kyphosis. My sister has RA, so I thought I had it also, but the doctors say no. I have a rheumatologist who is very nice, although most of the treatments I've been getting for fibro are not doing much. He seems sure that other than my knees and my neck, what I have is fibromyalgia. I have pain all the time, aching and soreness and also the sharp, stabbing pains.
Avatar f tn About two years ago I had a steroid injection in my knee - I had a 12 hour day on my feet looming and suffer arthritic pain in the knees and hips. After that time, the lumps seem to have really increased in number and size. The rheumatology department have said they will consider surgically removing any lumps that cause severe pain - where shall we start? Again, I've had some removed in the past for them to only re-appear, larger and more of them!
Avatar n tn You can do this at your pace. I was fine until tearing my knee up in September and going through Reconstructive Knee Surgery. As you can imagine, I had no problem asking my docs for Oxycontin and Percocet. The good news is that, like you, I realized it was controlling my life again and getting pretty ugly. I haven't used since 1/18 and still hurt a little but I AM GETTING BETTER. I picked up some LYOSINE 500 mg.

Avatar n tn I notice it in my butt (saggy) and especially depressing the leg area right above the knee (wrinkly) I live in Hawaii and although I wear knee length shorts and dresses which cover it up, occasionally I like to go to the beach and go for a swim and I am embarrassed.....I so much would rather have extra pounds then be where I am at!! I know that gaining some weight will help fill out my legs again, but you don't know how hard it is for me to gain a pound, let alone back the 4lbs i lost!! Help!!!
Avatar f tn (More on that later) The first inclination of having something going on was years of Osteoarthritis. Serious stuff for mobility. Then on a trip to Los Vegas where they walk everywhere, I was jaunting across the street and ripped both my hamstrings and the achilles tendon of the left foot. I went down like a ton of bricks and luckily my friend caught me. The sobbing began immediately. I spent the rest of the evening on the couch with ice packs.
314833 tn?1263263099 I wear Converse high-tops almost every day. I love to play video games. Shaun of the Dead is one of my favorite movies. I am artistic. ....random enough?
Avatar n tn Just dropped in after kicking about 5 or 6 months ago. I started on tramadol for osteoarthritis pain and was on trammies for approx. 18 months before I wanted my life back. I was at 14 -20 pills a day (700 -1000 mg.) just to be "normal" and was going to 3 different docs to obtain that amount.
Avatar n tn I may get a burst of sharp pains in my temples usually one side, it can happen for a few seconds and repeat for a minute or so. I may get a pain in my knee and then minutes later in my finger, or shoulder or wherever it wants to be. The thing is I am a mental health nurse and keep thinking am I going mad. My partner is sympathetic but gets a bit tired of me mentioning pains 5 or 6 times a night. I'm tired all the time and don't know where to turn.
Avatar n tn Everything came back normal except my spine has osteoarthritis and scoliosis and a couple bone spurs. So maybe thats the reason. I asked a doctor and she looked at me like I was crazy and prescribed ativan for anxiety and albuterol for the wheeze. I am afraid to ask any other doctor, due to they just give you that funny look and say "it sounds like your breathing", I even asked my husband and he said the same thing.
Avatar n tn I am a 36 year old mother of a 15 year old daughter and married to the man who helped me create her. 7 weeks ago I had major knee surgery. I have been on more than 200 percocet a month for almost a year. I have dabbled in drugs legal and illeagal most of my life but this withdrawl is by far the worst time of my life. I lie to my loved ones to my doctors and make the pain be way worse than it really is.
Avatar n tn I had a terrible Knee injury that wound up giving me 9 surgeries in the past 2 1/2 years, and a Shoulder Surgery directly caused from the knee, which totals 10 surgeries.... I not goin to lie, being on percocets were like a walk in the park, quitting them was never a issue, also speaking from prior drug habits and issues, the worse i got was a headache runny nose and fatigued, which i found not bad whatsoever...
