Avatar f tn Anyway, I recently decided to begin an elimination diet to rid my diet of allergens (gluten, soy, dairy, sugar, caffeine, unfiltered water etc. ) in hope that i can find a possible solution to this headache. ;) I am wondering if anyone else has found relief through this method? I eat mostly vegetarian, occasionally eating fish, but i consume a lot of soy and dairy products. I'm fairly active and would love to find a solution through diet and exercise.

Avatar n tn I've been told though that it's Fibromyalgia and I've been diagnosed in the past as having TMJ and Osteoarthritis. I have severe neck musle pain periodily, not always but it happens. My legs are sore to touch, as well as other muscles in my body. Sometimes my muscles have little pricky movements in them ( which can occur anywhere in the body). I've also been diagnosed with severe carpal tunnel, more severe in the right hand. I live in pain 24/7.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with psoriasis last year but I think I've had it for years, then a few months later I was told I had osteoarthritis after seeing a rheumy. I take meds for that and use steriod creams as required for my skin. Now I seem to have many more symptoms. I ache all over sometimes, I seem to be sensitive to the sun as I come out in hives and red blotches. I also have sore eyes and one of them is constantly red. I have been getting sores in my mouth and nose which are sometimes painful.

Was checked for the usual, RA, Lupus etc. Nothing showed up. Previous health-worked fulltime around 50 hours a week or more, constantly going and doing, did many family dinners, active runner, won divisional 5k first place and masters and weight trained. I have all the symptoms of Crohn's (arthritis, anemia, loose stools, mouth sores, you get the picture). My doctor refuses to even try anything until i have intestinal damage. How long can all of these other symptoms last before damage begins? I have been in pain and having issues for 2 years.

Initially this was put down to osteoarthritis but the pain and weakness is out of all proportion to the level of damage. One interesting finding in various tests was a severe vitamin d deficicency. A typical symptom of this is difficulty crouching, which I have too. Make sure you get that checked. Re the tingling it may also be worth getting your b vitamin levels checked too.

But an analysis of studies looking at glucosamine or chondroitin for osteoarthritis in the hip or knee did not show that these supplements slow joint destruction or relieve pain. It's kind of gone by the wayside. It was found to not be the wonder supplement it was once thought to be. Multiple studies revealed that they will not help you more than a placebo.

Avatar f tn You can be having a problem with insulin regulation in your body. I'm glad to hear you are having furthur testing done. My husbands fastings were just about what yours were, btw. His 2 hour GTT was abnormal, as was the hemoglobin A1C test. So this confirmed the diagnosis of diabetes, even though his blood sugars weren't all that whacked out. His doctor really didn't give him any teaching other than to tell him "Take this pill twice a day and come back in 3 months".

My father has rheumatoid arthritis as well as my mother. My Grandmother has had a stroke, my father has had two heart attacks and is not losing to lung cancer. My Auntie has Scleroderma and my brother has Epilepsy. SO, for me to have constant issues with my head and muscles and bones is worrisome.
