I've had mri's of my spine and shows osteoarthritis with bone spurs in cervical thoracic and lumbar. This was done in 2007 (i was 35), now i have this horrible tendonitis in both wrists and i'm on prednisone. Could this be related to the arthritis? i'm seeing an ortho but he doesn't know about the osteoarthritis (i was just rereading my reports and it jumped out at me). What should i expect with this diagnosis?
one suggestion was a low-fiber diet but the dietician i was referred to was completely unable to tell me exactly what that was. another suggestion was o soft diet. does that mean just eat anything and grind it up like babyfood or is it foods that become soft or are soft naturally such as jello & ice cream? where can i find an actual diet to follow?!!! i'm sick & tired of being sick & tired.

I am afraid that I have developed osteoarthritis in my hands, esp. in the thumb joint. I experience pain up to 5 on 1/10 scale, but not swelling. After I ride my bike my hands hurt for several days, maybe the handlebar is too big around. The symptoms developed shortly after I broke my wrist (Collies fracture) two years ago. I realize that if I have this problem it isn't going away. How do I keep the damage to a miminim? I use Ibuprofen for pain with fair results.
I have Osteoarthritis and it is getting worse. I taken Celebrex, Norco, Tramadol and Vicopren. None of these are working. I don't have insurance and go to a public health clinic. They don't seem to know what to do. Could you please advise me on what I can take that will help with the chronic pain and will be inexpensive.
i was also wondering about the osteoarthritis as my dr told me that i have severe degenerative osteoarthritis of the lower spine (I forgot the numbers), hips, left shoulder and both feet. I had major surgery last summer and mesh was used to attach part of my bowel to my spine. My dr figures that this may have jump-started the arthritis issues. Currently i have probs walking, bending and overall it hurts to be on my feet for more than 20 mins at a time.
/ I knew my condition was bad b/c of the amount of pain I am in but wasn't expecting that especially @ 32 with a 4 yr old and 7 month old!! Anyways, he adviced pain meds and synvisc-one injections until we couldn't control the pain enough. I tried the injections. I won't lie the are a bit painful. My right one was just uncomfortable. The left one hurt way worse. I have no idea why but it even swelled up and I had to stay off it about 24 hours b/c of all the fluid on it.
I need to lose 80 lbs. and have osteoarthritis. I've been on a low carb diet twice and both times the arthritis has flared and become quite painful. I think it's an excess of protein. How else can I lose weight? I can't stand being hungry and have good weight loss results with low carb. Help please!
I constantly have pain throuhout my entire body,including my eyes! I've gone to many doctors and am just not getting answers. I sometimes think it's MS. It sounds like the doctors have ruled out the standard reasons for joint problems, like RA or gout. Your description of sand feeling in your joints is a symptom of osteoarthritis. Perhaps you're not old enough for the tests to show yet and it's the beginning of arthritis? I would try surfing for information on "benign crepitus" which is what they call what you have without a diagnosis. I understand working on one's health to reduce inflammation has helped some people.
Generalized osteoarthritis is yet another subset of osteoarthritis. Most people know the meaning of primary osteoarthritis or secondary osteoarthritis, but generalized osteoarthritis is a lesser known term.

Do you know if you might be suffering from one or combination of inflammatory conditions including Rheumatoid Arthritis, Osteoarthritis, Lupus, GOUT, Tendonitis, Bursitis, Fibromyalgia, etc. There are blood tests to determine how much inflammation is present.
Lastly, try to avoid foods that cause inflammation and eat those foods that are considered anti-inflammatory - although it is controversial I have found a good diet can help minimize swelling and ease some pain.
Please advise ASAP. Can Serum creatinine levels be reversed by diet control...Please advice am really worried.
