omnicef to treat uti

I now have a serious sinus infection and my doctor cannot find an antibiotic to treat the infection that does not cause either hives or diarrhea. I need help. Below are the antibiotics that I cannot take but can I take??? penicillen, minocin, keflex,erthromicin levaguin ceftin, cepro,omnicef So what is left? Please help me.

Hi all, wondering if you have come across information indicating that flagyl can treat babesia at the same time it's treating Lyme. I understand it's also a antiparasitic, so not sure if that counts. If anyone knows or has heard their LLMD mention this please let me know. I just took my first dose of Flagyl, keeping my fingers crossed that I see some fantastic results!

I was told to continue Omnicef for 6 more days and doxycycline for another 3 weeks and then they will see. I will definitely print out your comments and see if I can have some of the test done.

I'm not sure how long my LLMD is proposing to treat me. I started on a four day coctail of flagyl, biaxin, and omnicef. That was fun. now on omnicef which seems to be somewhat helping except the days with the herx which are terribel but a means to an end. I'm not sure about any co-infections. The doctor assistant mentioned doing some parasite testing via stool sampling.

My 4 yr.old son had an allergic reaction to Omnicef. Hives all over and swollen hands, arms and feet. It's been 18 days and still gets a slight case of the hives . Within the last week( 3 times) he's had leg pain(muscel pain) joint pain. He has a hard time walking, usually the next day he can, it lasts anywhere from 12-24 hours. The 3 times he's had the leg pain he's either been swimming or riding a bike, took him to the hospital, blood work, x-rays and urine all came back fine.

Its best to treat it asap because I waited & started to pee blood and I was so close to getting a kidney infection so try to drink a lot of water and treat it!!

First, you need to have a urinalysis done....She doesn't have to go, just collect a clean urine sample to take it to your Vet to be analyzed....If she hasn't been to the Vet lately, you will need her weight in case they need to prescribe an Antibiotic..... However, At her age, if she has not had a Senior Blood Panel lately, she needs one.....

About 1 year ago I as given Omnicef for a bacterial infection. After 3 days of tumultuous diarrhea, I finally stopped this drug but not soon enough. Ever since then, I have had stomach problems. It first started out as irregular and often BM’s, and then progressed to A constant gnawing or burning between my breastbone and navel in addition to erratic BM’s and gas, bloating, and just an overall lousy feeling within the digestive system.

I'm allergic to sulfa, too, so I am on Rifampin. It didn't seem to help as much as the Levaquin the first time around, but this time I'm on a higher dose. I assume I'll be on it a long time. For me, Omnicef was almost useless. Within a month, my Lyme symptoms were getting worse. It's odd because Rocephin is helping a lot, and they're in the same drug family. Go figure. Omnicef is really helpful for some people, so don't be discouraged by my experience.

his pediatrician prescribed Omnicef for severe ear infections. She said there was a 5% chance hed be allergic to that but she wanted to try it out. well, he was allergic. After 3 doses he broke out in HIVES all over his face and scalp scratching and screaming in a way no child ought to scream. I immediately gave him benadryl and stopped the meds (wed at 9am was the last dose) it is now friday afternoon he has no fever but is still breaking out in some hives. they go away on their own.

From 9 weeks till now I have had to go like every thirty mins.I asked my doctor to check for uti but everything is fine. going to the bathroom like this all the time is a pain. But,I also want to make sure everything is okay. Anyone else have this issue this intense ?

Do i need to go to the doc for a uti? Been drinking cranberry juice but its gettimg worse and more painful...

As others stated, you need antibiotics for a UTI - they only sell pain relief OTC and none will actually treat it. It's important to treat it soon, otherwise it can travel to other places including your kidneys.

I am concerned about all of the antibitics he has had. We have been referred to an ENT. Do you think the ENT will say that he has to have to have TONSILS or ADNOIDS removed or BOTH? If, so should I seek a second opinion? Thanks!

If you treat it properly it shouldn't I am sure everything will be fine as long as you treat it before the baby is here that way It won't affect him/her when they pass thru the birth canal.

Hi, you have to treat the uti! I didn't take straight penicillin but a version of it, amoxicillin during pregnancy. Safe. So if your doc prescribed it knowing you're pregnant, it's safe. An untreated uti is far worse than an antibiotic!
