Thank you so much for responding! I am on Lusonex Plus and Omnicef 4 days now. I doubt this has anything to do with the sinuses but just to let you know of my recent changes in medications,I was put on Lexapro(10 ml) and Vyvance(50ml) for ADD comorid with mild depression about 2 weeks ago. I am 34.....female. No CT scan of sinuses yet----what would that reveal? Do I need one or at one point should I get one? I have always had allergy problems----not too severe though in my adult life.
I have been having diffuse arthralgia, low grade temp, and fatigue for the past month. I originally thought I may be developing rheumatic fever? prior to onset of above symptoms, i had an episode of a sore throat, lasting about 3 days. this cleared and i developed productive coughing, sinus pressure congestion. i saw a doctor and was diagnosed with sinusitis/ bronchitis, with a negative strep culture from the oropharynx. was placed on omnicef.
I began having yellow mucous out of just my right nostril and went to see a doctor on 12/7/09 where I was given a prescription for Omnicef. It caused me not to be able to sleep, so the doctor gave me Zpak. I took that and no changes in the mucous or sinus/ear pain. So, I went back to the same outpatient clinic and the doctor I saw gave me a steroid shot and predinsone pills to calm sinus inflammation along with a prescription for Augmentum antibiotic.
You really should be using a steroid nasal spray for you excessive mucous production for your sinuses. Antibiotics help acute sinusitis infections. I often do saline irrigations of my sinuses, that helps remove the excess mucous that is in the sinuses. Also gets rid of infected material. These irrigations should be done twice a day. I've also noticed that when you have excess lung mucous you will feel it rattling around deep in your lungs before it makes it's way up.
I took her to her pediatrician that same day where they did a strep test which came back negative, prescribed omnicef and sent us home. The next day her temperature just kept skyrocketing, getting up to 106. That night I took her to the ER at Children's in Dallas where they ran another strep test, mono, flu, and cbc. Her mono, strep, and flu all came back negative. Her white blood count was at 21. They gave her a shot of rocephin, told us to continue the omnicef, sent us home.
He was put on amoxil and had an allergic reaction so he has been taking omnicef. The Dr told us this week that the omnicef has not done anything and that he was going to give him a round of antibiotic shots. So far my son has had 2 of the 3 shots. My first question is how quickly do these shots work? My other question is: Is there some underlying problem that is causing these ear infections, something more serious? He has not had any other type of infection i.e.
I have swollen eyelids that come and go, almost like hives, but rarely itch. Can be one or several. On omnicef for sinus infection, but doctor doesn't think this is causing it. Before omincef had a sulfer type med that caused swelling in joints, sick stomach, rash, fever. Have been on Omicef 5 days. Started having strange raised bumps for three days that come and go. Will say that two weeks ago had actual hives around eyes and think it was caused from eye cream.
My child was 1 1/2 months old when she developed a "cold" that consisted of a stuffy nose for about 1 1/2 months. After 2 bouts with antibiotics(amoxicillin & omnicef) it seemed that we were in the clear. Then about 3-4 weeks later she came down with a terrible cold that doesn't seem to want to go away and the doctors said there was nothing they could do for it.
So I've been on depo for 9.months now and got my renewal shot and antibiotics for 10 days on the same day, how long should I wait before having unprotected sex? How will they effect eachother????
My sodium level was low and my white blood count and granulocytes were very high and my lymphocytes were low. The Dr. put me on Omnicef for 10 days. I went back to the doctor a few days ago, and everything else turned out normal except now I had high Calcium and High Total Blood Protein. My Total Protein was 10.6. I am worried about the possibility of a Parathyroid Tumor with Cancer or something serious.

. Last week, through a throat culture from my G.P., I came up positive for strep. I am currently taking sulfamthoxazole-tmp (am allergic to penicillan) for ten days and seem to be doing better.
It is the last resort before surgery. Try it for 2 weeks, then stop for 3 weeks. If your problem has not begun to subside, then indeed consider surgery.
