Avatar f tn It may be associated with hypothyroidism, hypoparathyroidism, and adrenal insufficiency, and all these conditions can also cause weight gain. So blood tests should be done to rule out these causes. Please discuss with your treating doctor. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.
Avatar m tn After a week with no alcohol or Tylenol it went up to 97 a weeks later 170. I then spotted omeprazole for 10 days and it was at 106. I just had a liver ultrasound and everything came back normal. What can the problem be? Can omeprazole cause this?
709686 tn?1277432159 Protonix (Pantoprozole) does not give me problems...maybe a little weight loss. Omeprazole (Prilosec or Zegerid) causes me all kinds of problems. Headache, chest pain, red/irritated eyes, all kinds of body aches, constipation and extreme thrist. Problem is...protonix is by script only and VERY EXPENSIVE! Someone talk to me about this. Has anyone else experienced these problems with Omeprazole?
Avatar m tn I found a lot of medications that I, personally have been on can cause weight loss and nausea - which really takes away your desire to eat. Maybe the medication he is on is causing him nausea or contributing to him not wanting much to eat. In turn making him feel quite sick. I threw up a lot on my medication and a long time after I had no appetite, and when I ate certain things I felt faint and vomited. Just a thought. Or it might be something else entirely. Take care!
Avatar n tn Hello, Prilosec is taken for gastritis and acid reflux. It has no reported interactions with weight loss 4 pills but it is not advisable to ue weight loss 4 pills without a doctor’s guidance. It has plenty of side effects like diarrhea, oily stools, gas, flatulence, and other systemic side effects. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar f tn ve read, the affect of Prilosec is pretty small, and an increase in exercise, sun exposure, weight loss, and a good vitamin can offset the effects of the drug. Keep us informed.
Avatar f tn So, I have been having a horrible burning pain in my stomach and no appetite, in addition to weight loss for 3 weeks. I decided to go to the ER on 1/23/17. The doctor asked me a checklist of questions and said I have gastritis, but did no exams. I was hesitant to take the omeprazole because he did no tests at all.
Avatar m tn I have been getting chills with no fever, pain on the left side of my stomach by my ribs and through my back, randomly nauseous but no vomiting or change in bowel movements, and weight loss. I have seen my doctor. I have had blood work done and everything is normal, I also had an ultrasound of the gallbladder and everything was normal, I also had a HIDA scan of the gallbladder and everything was normal. This has been going on for 2 months now.
Avatar f tn I recently joined *********** on line for weight loss help. I have been walking and documenting what I eat. I was surprised to find out how badly I was starving myself. I had a hard time just reaching the lowest end of the chart for the proper amount of nutrients. Which seems so odd how a person can be fat and not eat enough but it all revolves around metabolism. Well since I started getting the proper nutrition and eating 4 smaller meals a day I have felt better by far.
Avatar n tn t have the usual symptoms (nausea, vomiting, weight loss). In fact I have no symptoms at all. I take Omeprazole for acid reflux/hiatal hernia, and I take Synthroid for hypothyroidism. I also take Zetia every other day for cholesterol. All of these are working well, but I hope they are not the cause of my Gastroparesis. I don't want to take anymore medications, especially the ones that are given for Gastroparesis. Since I don't have the usual symptoms, do I really need medication for it?
Avatar f tn I have been having symptoms of a Crohn's flare, severe nausea, loss of appetite, weight loss of 18 lbs in last 6 weeks, steatorrhea, pain in mid chest and right upper quadrant. Had CT scan 2 weeks ago which showed significant inflammation in terminal ileum and old pancreatitis with calcification. Gastroscopy last week showed oesphagitis.Biopsies taken. MRI scan Nov 2007 showed two strictures in small intestine.
Avatar n tn ll still burp a lot and have some refluxes. Now i am lossing appetite and weight. And also, I have slowly developed sore throat. Any advice what's going on now? Is what I'm experiencing GERD or LPR? I don't experience any heartburn. Does anyone knows if I can ever recover from this? If so, how long will it take? It's really depressing because I can't eat like I used to.
Avatar m tn Hello I'm suffering from a kind of idiopathic illness which i have not been treated in spite of referring to many docs and taking many drugs(Reglan,Dompridon, Digestive enzymes, Cudinium c,Omeprazole).my problem is that i can't digest foods well ,and foods remain in my stomach too long so i can't eat enough foods during the day(i have already been underweight and continue to loss weight) i have no pain,no reflux, no heartburn, no vomiting ,no nausea.
Avatar m tn As pain increases, heart rate and therefore blood pressure increases as well. Have you ever had thyroid studies done, any weight loss recently unexplained, Does the heat intolerance occur at any other times? What I'm getting at is a possible hyperthyroid state. Intolerance to heat, weight loss that is unexplained, irritability, fast heart rate, etc., all occur with being hyperthyroid.
Avatar f tn Appt in clinic for results 7/23. He was quite shocked at my weight loss and general appearance as I have seen him regularly for the past 5 yrs.I had an MRI of my abdomen in Nov 2007, asymptomatic, just general Crohn's monitoring. This showed 2 strictures in my small intestines. No meds or surgery.I am concerned as to the dx - mind in a whirl..... not a Crohn's flare as I have had many of them and I know the symptoms...this is entirely different, as my husband also agrees.
Avatar m tn Since then i have been taking medicine for acid reflux (acid coming up, shortness of breath and tight chest), I am on Omeprazole 20mg once a day. For about the last 2 weeks i have had a gland up in my armpit as well as aches in my forearms and lower legs (not all the time, I get it more when i am resting). I've had a private medical which all bloods etc came back fine, apart from i am over weight.

142841 tn?1201975052 I also have GERD and was taking Omeprazole before starting Harvoni. I dieted and lost more weight than may have been good, lost the fat around my middle and have been very careful what I eat, when I eat, and take tums when needed (not within 5 hours of taking the Harvoni). I think the weight in my middle squeezes the stomach. I was very worried about life without Omeprazole, but I am in week 5 of treatment and have been able to manage without it. The RIBA makes it worse.
