Was on Plavix and Omeprazole for quite a while. Eventually went off Plavix and kept Omeprazole. LAD blocked again in 2013, and a DES was placed inside the other stents. These occluded again this past November and I had a double bypass (LAD plus RCA). The RCA veinous graft collapsed this month and a DES was placed last week. Sooo, I am back on Plavix and Omeprazole. Thinking of maybe changing to Pantoprazole or just stopping PPI altogether.

And then a preliminary analysis of data from the COGENT trial, a trial dedicated to specifically examining clopidogrel with a PPI vs placebo, fails to suggest even the slightest signal of a negative interaction. For the FDA to then strengthen the warning of a interaction is baffling, to say the least.

I've followed this research, and from what I've learned the drug interaction of Plavix and PPI's (proton pump inhibitors) is not not that strong. I doubted the report from the start as I took Plavix and PPI's and my blood was as thin as tea, I bruised very, very easily, and the blood tests to determine my clotting factor wasn't changed by taking the two drugs.

wow, I just read that Omeprazole increases the chances of death by 74% after PCI and I was on these after my first stent. How lucky was I !!!!!

It seems as if yur not on them long enough to really give you a chance, and taking you off 40mg of valium and methadone in 2 weeks is far to quick no wonder you relapsed. t take plavix in the morning and in the evening take lopressor 50mg and lipitor 80mg. I had been at least 4 hours since i took these two medication lopressor and lipitor. Is it ok to take zantac 150mg for heart burn .

SSRI anti-depressents can cause suicidal ideations as an adverse side effect.. I am not sure if there is a direct interaction with Valium. However, if someone has bipolar as you stated clearly an SSRI alone could easily induce mania and Valium can be personality altering and worsen that effect. These are safe medications to take of course but have the potential of these adverse side effects and an anti-depressent alone, especially an SSRI would worsen bipolar.

Hypothyroid does cause high blood pressure, but I would think your side effects are caused by the Dilaudid and Valium are you taking all this medication at the same time, it could be an interaction, why are you taking the Dilauded and valium, if they are prescribed for depression, then I would stop taking them, your depression is caused by your thyroid, once you get your thyroid balanced, you should have no need for those types of drugs, they can make you dependant and just cause more issues.

The pain which you suffered is probably due to some acute gastritis/peptic ulcer pain which typically occurs in the night and is usually associated with nausea. With any narcotic pain reliever, any guide will list Valium and meds like it, as a drug-drug interaction. This doesn't mean however, that they can't be taken together.

s patients usually have low or no acid which makes me concerned about taking this. And I read about ensuring you space out when you take omeprazole. I also have low ferritin and was taking iron, which I saw online is contradicted. Does anyone have experience with taking this?
