Avatar f tn First week, I had this flu-like symptoms. I had this feeling of fatigue, very poor appetite and feeling nauseated. A week after, appetite went back but still feeling fatigue. I went to my doctor, requested for workups like CBC, urinalysis, Fasting blood sugar, lipid profile, crea, uric acid, sgpt, sgot, hbsag, hav-IgG, hav-IgM. All results were normal except for the slight elevation of my triglyceride and high levels of my sgpt of 102 and sgot of 70+.
581954 tn?1223391496 I have been off it for 4 weeks and still feel the light headed and fatigue. Some days are better than others. It usually sticks around for a day. I have been tested ok for every thing else. Been in the ER 3 times for this concern. They say it could be anxiety? Is it possible for this to be a side effect from Omeprazole? And how long does it take to get out of your system? I have heard it could take 3 months and I have heard it won't take longer than a week??
Avatar f tn I've had feelings of nausea and fatigue for the past month and a half (no I'm not pregnant) and my blood results came back all normal. I'm more nauseous in the mornings, but it's a constant feeling throughout the day unless I take anti-nausea medication to help (and even that doesn't always help). The only thing the dr. said about my blood results was that my TSH was slightly high but he was pretty confident it wasn't hypothyroidism because my thryoid tested normal.
Avatar m tn i would just like to say that my doctor prescribe me omeprazole and as you may or may not know, omeprazole has a lot of side effects including headaches and diarrhea... so now to the details of the question, me and my girlfriend had sex about three and a half weeks ago to be exact, for the first time. i used protection in the intercourse but she didn't used protection when she gave me oral. so i been paranoid because today i feel headaches and that feeling of getting a cold.
Avatar n tn mailed him about it and he doubled the omeprazole dose and perscribed one other medication that would control acid in a different way. During this time I developed what I can only describe as a "pounding heartbeat"...my heart doesn't beat faster...I've measured the bpm many times and it's the same as usual, however it feels like my heart is beating much harder.

Avatar m tn HIV does not own my thoughts in terms of having the virus. However, the side effects of the illness and the meds (fatigue, skin rash and all other little things that put a burden on your body and restricts the everyday life in some sort of way.) are constantly there, so logically occupy my thoughts or to be more accurate, every day actions/work. I hope this answers your question?
Avatar n tn I was prescribed 20mg omeprazole about two years ago for the infrequent acid reflux, which I thought was occurring as a side effect of the adderall I was prescribed to help with the fatigue. I was taking the omeprazole every day for a while but since I was rarely having problems I started taking it only when needed. I never really have felt acid reflux was a problem for me.
Avatar m tn s patients usually have low or no acid which makes me concerned about taking this. And I read about ensuring you space out when you take omeprazole. I also have low ferritin and was taking iron, which I saw online is contradicted. Does anyone have experience with taking this?
Avatar m tn The pain then manifested as neck and back pain during the second week and fatigue. Now into my third week I have mild aches and pains pretty much all over the place, primarily my back, I'm still fatigued and obviously very concerned. My doc set up blood tests which were taken yesterday. Any possible causes? Will these bloods actually detect every possible outcome, if any?
Avatar m tn At first my wife had urinary infection, few weeks later she started to have fever and stomach problems, the docter told her it was a gastroenteritis. I bought her omeprazole and gave her amoxicilline, that worked. She felt fine, but few weeks later she had urinary infection symptoms again. The doctor gave her antibiotics again, that helped her.
Avatar m tn Following a valve replacement and triple bypass I was discharged from Hospital with a number of drugs and a new one being Omeprazole. I did not know why it was prescribed but after a number of months taking it I decided after discussion with my Doctor to stop taking it. A few months later through the night I got this terrible chest pain on a scale of 1-10 I guess it was 7-8.
Avatar f tn I have GERD and a hiatal hernia and have been taking omeprazole twice a day every day for a few months (I had been on Prevacid for several years before the omeprazole but insurance won't cover it any more). If your main symptom is burping, I would try going off of the omeprazole and switching to gas-x or some other type of gas relief medicine. As long as you aren't having a lot of problems with heartburn or acid reflux, you would probably be fine to discontinue using the omeprazole.
Avatar m tn Hi. I am taking omeprazole for laryngopharyngeal reflux for the past 2 days. I am supposed to take two pills daily, one before breakfast and one before dinner. Today, i started having this feeling that food is stuck in my chest and back of my throat but I don't have any problems swallowing. It is an uncomfortable feeling in my chest. I did not have this symptom prior to starting the drug. Is this a side effect of the drug?
Avatar n tn Now due to the pregnancy, it seemed to worsen as I experience painful heartburns. My doctor recommends I take omeprazole along with antacids. I've been taking antacids because I know they don't bare side effects on pregnancy. I am not sure though with omeprazole. I'm scared. I am afraid it might harm the baby. Anyone here experienced the same?
Avatar n tn t correct the underlying problem, but it can alleviate a good deal of the pain associated with ulcers by reducing the amount of stomach acid (the actual substance causing the pain). Omeprazole and other PPIs can and do give ulcer patients a better quality of life while they heal.
Avatar n tn I get up and have 2 or 3 cups of tea with sugar, should wait a 1/2 after taking the medicine before drinking the tea?
Avatar n tn is omeprazole a nercotic pain killer? i know some medications that may b addicting so i thought i would double check..also i had seen that u can take in an i.v is this true and if so how?
Avatar n tn I was taking Omeprazole for acid reflux. I was recently going on eight weeks of taking it. I too WAS suffering from dry mouth and tongue and a severe burning sensation in my throat that was getting worse. I feared the worst, waking up with severe dry mouth, panic attacks as to what was happening. I couldnt even make a drop of saliva. I stopped taking the omeprazole last night. For the first time in weeks i slept like a baby.
Avatar m tn So you need to treat ASAP and then you will most likely feel considerably improved. (My night sweats and fatigue disappeared after I was cured of Hep C.) Fatigue is a major symptom of Hepatitis C. Night sweats are also a very common symptom with Hepatitis C. It is the Hep C that is most likely making you fatigued and causing your night sweats. Your liver enzymes are high, so you obviously have a lot of inflammation of the liver going on. Do you know your liver fibrosis stage?
Avatar f tn Hey. I was wondering if it’s fine for me to take 40mg of Omeprazole and 1 capsule of IBgard in the same day. I have GERD.
Avatar m tn My 4 year old son has been prescribed 20mg omeprazole for unknown stomach pain. I heard that PPIs such as this can increase the risk of pneumonia and he has a horrible chest cold. cough right now, should I discontinue taking this medication until this passes? Are the chances of it turning into pneumonia greater if he is on omeprazole? Or is this risk factor only for prolong use?
Avatar f tn I am feeling very fatigued. I have had a feeling of flutters in my lower and upper abdomin. Nausea off and on but no vomiting. My throat feels scratchy like when catching a cold and I have a non-productive cough. I am really dizzy when sitting or standing after lying down. Breathing seems labored at times but not short of breath. I am taking omniprazole(sp). Should I be concerned about this? I had biopsy which was negative for malignacy but shows mild chronic esophagitis.
Avatar f tn I have the same problem which I, too, thought might be caused by Omeprazole. I did find, like CalGal, a link between Omeprazole and a cough, and it was also causing itchy skin down my spine area. Changing my PPI to Lansoprazole recently has not made the slightest difference, and I continue to cough all day and all night, a dry, irritating cough. I also have gastritis, oesophagitis, a Hiatus hernia, none of which had been symptomatic other than nausea, and a lack of desire to eat.
