1655526 tn?1330659229 On Omega-3 supplements, I notice a significant increase in PVCs as well as slight increase in general twitchiness or anxiety. Yeah, it's a sample size of one and I'm the only observer, but that's the way it seems to me. However, some scientists have observed problems in giving patients these supplements: http://www.examiner.
15 woman5 There are several ways that you can get omega 3s in your daily routine. Eating fish that contain high amounts of omega -3 (refer to the chart at the bottom of the omega-3 page in your lab report). You can also take an omega-3 supplement. Always check with your provider on the correct amount for you and if they prefer a specific brand. When you are looking for a supplement - pay attention to the amount of omega-3 listed on the label. Avoid ones that have "other fish oil" listed.

Here's where it gets tricky...
Avatar f tn you know, I haven't been taking the Omega 3 since I got pregnant - they make me nauseous. I just take my prenatals daily. I try to eat healthy(doesn't always happen) but i do try. I didnt take any Omega 3 with my other kids and their fine, so oh well.
Avatar n tn Yes it has omega 3 fatty acids which are essential for baby's brain development
Avatar m tn Tried many antidepressants no significant benefit . Now trying moodstabiliser valproate . Has any of you tried omega 3 fish oils and found any benefit . Did u try it by itself or in combination . What dose u r in ?
Avatar m tn While omega-6 isn't bad in and of itself, what's bad about omega-6 is that Americans get too much of it. Having too much omega-6 and not enough omega-3 in your diet leads to many diseases. To avoid these diseases, you must keep these two very important essential fatty acids in balance or the right ratio. When they get out of balance, you get sick.
Avatar f tn My cholesterol and triglycerides have been high. I was thinking of taking omega 3 fish oil…maybe start now ? or maybe wait till after 6 months post tx? Perhaps the fish oil can help with my cholesterol and triglycerides. Is fish oil ok for the liver? Anybody have any thoughts on this? Thanks.
446896 tn?1237806342 I have a curiosity question...I am also taking Omega 3 fish oil, as well as a B vitamin supplement. Has anyone heard if these are OK with Prozac (fluoxetine)? I have looked for information, and havent found anything yet. Let me know if you know...
Avatar f tn Hey ladies have any of you gotten a Dr's advice on best source of omega 3 for baby's brain development? I was told that ground flaxseed is best but other literature says that fish oil is better as it has the DHA property. Any advice???
Avatar f tn I give my 20 pound Westie one capsule of "fish oil" each morning. I use scissors and hold the capsule over his kibble - cut tip off and squeeze He seems to like the smell/taste of the oil on his kibble which is also fish based. This capsule is the same that I take, and the dose recommendation for a human (or any weight) is 3 per day. I can't say I see any improvement in his several problems conditions, but I figure it "can't hurt"...
603543 tn?1255298050 kelliebellie just keep in mind that it may not work. I'm not trying to be a spoiler, but I did the Omega 3 thing for 6 months at high dosages. The Omega 3 suppliment I was using was top grade from a health store. It cost twice as much as other formulas because of it higher quality. 6 full months of this Omega 3 experiment produced absolutly no improvement in my Severe depression. Perhaps my condition is more severe than your and that's why I failed to respond to it.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know if Omega-3 helps heart arrythmias? It worked for me, but not for my 30 yr old daughter who suffers from PVCs. They can make life hellish but for the most part are benign - but definitely a quality of life issue. I would say avoid all cardiac stimulants like caffeine, nicotine, and believe it or not - anger and sentimental thoughts can cause arrythmias. You can deliver bad hormones into your own body that stimulate your heart by having scary, or sentimental thoughts.
Avatar m tn Oh! I forgot, you would not burp the fish oil if you take the pill each time you eat something or after every meal, I have never had a problem with it.

Avatar m tn Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) omega-3 are marine-derived. The EPA and DHA forms of omega-3 fatty acids are found in oily fish, such as salmon, lake trout, mackerel, tuna, and herring. Higher concentrations of EPA and DHA, the active components in omega-3s, can also be found in LOVAZA — the first and only prescription omega-3 medication. It is important to know that some types of fish may contain mercury and other pollutants from the environment.
Avatar f tn Has anyone heard of taking omega 3 for neck/back nerve pain? It sounds wierd, but a friend on another website told me he took it trying to avoid having surgery and it relieved his pain within 2 days. I know Omega 3 is good for cholesterol issues but how could it work for pain? Any thoughts on this. Several others agreed with him and he said his doc recommended it. I started taking it today because I figured it can't hurt any. Let me know what you think.
Avatar m tn hi there I've been on your paleo diet for almost 2 years now and virtually spot-free. One question though. Over the last few days I started taking omega 3 fish oil tablets (Solgar 700). These have led to an increase in my spots - a couple in new areas (cheek, jawline). Ive also notices the same when eating an excess of salmon. Just wondering if you could explain this? I am keen to balance out any hormone imbalance but i seem to have a sensitivity to omega 3, or perhaps is it iodine?
Avatar m tn Omega 3 isn't just one substance, Omega three are fatty acids just like Omega 6 fatty acids found in oils and meat etc. Omega 3 are EPA, DHA, and ALA . Some experts have said that the balance between Omega 6 fatty acids and Omega 3 is key, but just as many say this is nonsense. Omega 3 do have benefits, mainly reducing inflammation in the body, such as in the arteries or joints. It can also reduce your clotting factor if taken in too high doses, causing excessive bleeding.

917167 tn?1330259538 Dennis Embry (CEO/Founder PAXIS institute in AZ) talked about taking an Omega 3 supplement especially as a mental health or substance abuse patient because it has shown to restore dopamine receptors in the brain. Has anyone else heard of this? Does anyone out there swear by them? I have been taking them for roughly two weeks, but of course I wouldn't be feeling better today.....bad bad bad. It's you all on here who are keeping me from cracking under the pain. Thanks so much for your support.
Avatar f tn Sorry about the PVC, and I think Omega-3 is Omega-3, but the question remains: how many mg did you doctor want you to take a day? If it was 1,000 mg (1 g) then on the days you eat your quota of peanut butter you should not need to take a capsule. But, it could be a good idea to have a bottle on hand for the days you don't eat the required amount of peanut butter. Again, be sure you are getting the right dose. I take O3 capsules every day in a hope it will help with my AFib....
Avatar f tn Two months have past and during that time I began to take 2000mg Omega Fish oil to lower my 240 cholesterol. (I've been on Vytorin 10/20 for years). Abnormal heart rhythm sent me to the emergency room. When cardiac was ruled out, the doc said my TSH was 20. What happened? I did not skip any doses except on Sundays. Did the Omega 3 mess up my TSH levels. Now it seems my meds are not even working.
Avatar f tn I for one experience an increase in my PVC and PAC episodes after I take omega 3. Ever since I only obtain omega 3 from the fish i eat on a bi-weekly basis - i don't take the capsules anymore.
