One thing that worries me, I read in some websites, Ofloxacin will mask Syphilis test or symptoms. And I think, Inoflox is Ofloxacin? How about Amoxicilin and Zinnat? My concern is all these antibiotics might mask the Syphilis infection, if I was infected from the exposure causing false negative in the test.
Need your advice on this, doctor. What should I do next?

Hi,
Tosufloxacin is supposed to have more efficacy and a broader spectrum of action in infections. This should be more effective than ofloxacin in the treatment of prostatitis. However, some organisms like chlamydia are only weakly sensitive to this class of drugs and will need specific testing to identify the right antibiotic.
You may need to have another urinalysis done, preferably from a sample collected just after ejaculation. A prostate fluid analysis can also be done.
On 3/21/07 she had stomach flu,5/24/07 she woke up with a bloody looking eye it's ALWAYS on the same eye (right)on the inner part of the sclera & it never spreads to the other eye,she always says it hurts & it swells up a little. Early this year over new year I was submitted to hospital for emergency treatment on a corneal ulcer and was kept in hospital for three days and given intensive treatment of ofloxacin eye drops every hour, then released from hospital and continued to be on ofloxacin eye drops every 2 hours and steroid drops every 2 hours with frequent visits to the hospitals eye clinic to monitor my progress.
The pain disappears a day or so after starting Ofloxacin but then reappears after a few days after the treatment. The pain starts as a mild irritation and after 5-6 days worsens until it will be intense enough to keep me up at night. I didn't have enough space in my first post to note the intensity - but this is quite painful - very localized in the urethra about 2 cm from the tip.
I contracted NGU through oral sex and was prescribed 10 days of Ofloxacin. I had urine test at 21 after the last pill which came out negative. My question is if it was too early to test? I still have clear discharge 1-2 times per week in the morning.
Over this time I have taken azithromizing one dose, metronidizole one dose, nitrofuaretoin low dose for 5 days, oxytetracycline 7 days and have just been given ofloxacin 7 days and aciclover 5 days at same time to cover hsv a uti and prostatis.

Upon reading through the forums related to STDs, found out that some folks were prescribed with ofloxacin. Without consulting a doctor, I am self medicating now after googling what's ofloxacin is for. 3 days ago I took 2 400mg and subsequently 200mg every 12 hours. So far, the irritation when I'm urinating and the tingling has subsided significantly. My question is, shall I still continue taking the ofloxacin until the 7th or 10th day from the day I started taking it?
Sure, there are lots of antibiotics. If you're allergic to azithromycin, you also probably can't take clarithromycin and erythromycin. And if doxycycline doesn't work, there's probably no used in taking tetracycline. So that does eliminate a lot of them. If the doxycycline isn't working, either your tests are consistently false positives, or you have a resistant strain. It's not typical, but it does happen.
nd the dr. gave me antibiotics doxycycline and inoflox..after ive done w/ doxycycline medication i undergo another semen analysis and the result is the pus cells present is now 15-21hpf..my urine culture test found bacteria which is STAPHYLOCOCCUS HAEMOLTYTICUS.. 1) do i have std? or HIV? can you pls help me.. thank you so much!

Part of me thinks that taking so much of that antibiotic, perhaps unnecessarily, has led to a persistent rash on my forehead. The rash looks a bit like acne - small, red bumps, with slight blackheads - but looks scaly, dry, and really just like a number of small, spread out red bumps.

I was diagnosed with Chamydia 3 months back, but probably infected was 1 month prior to my diagnosis. For my inital treatment, while waiting for my first blood testresults, i was prescribed with Azithomycin (1mg single dose), Doxycline (7 days), Ofloxacin (7 days) and Rocephine. When the blood results came back 2 weeks later, it confirmed i had chamydia. Thereafter, my doctor prescribed for me another week of doxycline and 2 months of ofloxacin.
last treatment consisted of ofloxacin and fluorometholone eyedrops (q6h) for 10 days, along with doxycycline and omega-3 pills for 3 months.
i wonder if this condition may be caused by fungal infection instead of by bacterial infection, so that any antibiotics worsen the infection. what medicines are indicated for blepharitis caused by fungus? oral ketoconazole?
5 yrs started complaining of stomach pain and diarrhea four days back when the doctor prescribed ofloxacin and metronidazole suspension which had some effect in the first two days but worsened later.

A retest for a uti one week later was negative but my symptoms were unchanged throughout all treatments. After my last positive nsu swab last week I was given ofloxacin 200g for 7 days and aciclover to cover hsv although I have no other symptoms of hsv other than an inflamed urethra. I should also mention I have tested negative 4 weeks ago for hiv, syphilis, clamydia and gonnerhea .I and I use condoms.
Please can you advise me on what I could have and what treatment options I have?
2) Whether Treatment is needed now?My doctor said that he cannot start treatment unless there is abnormal fluctuations in SGOT & SGPT.

In addition, because of an unrelated problem regarding pain in my testicles (for which earlier tests had given negative STD results), the doctor gave a treatment of ofloxacin that I am still taking. He told me not to have sex for at least one week.
On Nov 17 I kissed and had a brief mutual masturbation moment with a different guy. I learnt that he may also have been exposed to Gonorrhea. I don't think we exchanged secretions (a part from saliva) and I didn't cum.
DRE (which, incidentally and wrongly was done after FNAC) revealed a slight firmness (no nodule) on the right side. I took a long course of ofloxacin which dropped the PSA to 12.75 after 3 months.
I continued the ofloxacin hoping for further improvement, but after 6 more weeks the PSA remained the same.
I am an Asian, no family history of PCa, and have no symptoms yet.
What should be my next course of action? Should i get treated for BPH (?dutasteride) and see the results?
