Ocella no longer a generic

Common Questions and Answers about Ocella no longer a generic

Avatar f tn Well Ocella is the generic for Yasmin. I was taking Yasmin for 2 years, when last month I was given Ocella. Well I wasn;t too thrilled with it, as I had cramps for 5 days plus I started my period 1 day late. They say generic is always the same, but for me I felt a difference. It could be from the pill. Your body needs to adjust being on it. Side affects should lessen by the third month.
Avatar f tn I am SO sorry to hear about this terrible family tragedy, and after seeing for myself some information on the issue of this drug ocella (generic for Yasmin), it appears there is a possibility the birth control brought your daughter down, particularly since that was the only thing she was doing differently when all this started. It's a scary thing that medicines can do this to people, I just wonder how well these things are tested and so forth.
Avatar f tn I am currently on Ocella (generic for Yasmin), I have been on it for almost a month, I start the inactive pills tomorrow night. Before I took Ocella, I was taking Yaz(and I switched immediatly). My last period lasted for 3-4 days. I should start my period on March 11th. Yesterday I had light pinkish/red blood when I wiped and some cramping and now I am having light brown discharge that is odorless. I have not missed any pills, and I do have unprotected sex.

Avatar f tn Took a test. Negative. I have no clue what's going on.
Avatar f tn I am trully deceptioned. I am thinking on not taking Lybrel anymore, it's not reaching its purpose. I am miserable. The worse part of it is my doctor! When I told her about lybrel she gave me a perplexed look. Mind you, she's a gynecologist! I had to bring her a print out, and this was on my second appointment. In the beginning she prescribed ocella, I stoped because it was making me bleed. She told me that I shouldn't had stoped because it was my body adapting to the pill.
Avatar n tn I've been taking Zoloft twice a day (100 mg) for more than 10 years and it is no longer working. I'm interesting in trying to figure out what to try now. I've heard good things about Lexapro (insurance covers) and Cymbalta (insurance does not cover no generic)... So what should I do... I'm so depressed lately - i can't stand it.. just want to isolate and sleep 24/7. no energy or interest in anything... pls help. thank you.
Avatar n tn I’m not sure if Kaiser is yanking my chain and just wanting me to take a generic BCP, the only thing I can find is a study published recently in the British Medical Journal. But I thought I would ask, is anyone that has PCOS symptoms (high testosterone, insulin resistance) and on BCP on any other BCP besides Yasmin, and does it control PCOS symptoms? Have you seen any side effects?

Avatar f tn I live a healthy life, I work at a fitness clinic, eat healthy 85% of the time and have no other health issues i know of. I do cardio at least once or twice a week and I just started to weight train. The only medication I'm on is Ocella birth control & just recently (past 3 months?) generic zoloft which has helped with anxiety some but not 100%... I was wondering if anyone had any advice to ease my anxiety about these or how to take my mind off of them...
Avatar f tn But now she stopped Aldactone and gave me Birth Control Pill ( Ocella, its generic of Yasmin). But How long can I take this BCP I am not sure. My period are always been so frequent since they started ( in the age of 13). Recently my doc took vaginal and abdominal ultrasound. She found that I have Poly cystic ovaries. But she told me that I don't have PCOS as my periods are very frequent. My doc took all the test. First they took my blood sample, and then gave me a injuction of Cortrosyn.

Avatar f tn About three days into the spotting I got sore breasts, which I have never gotten before. I had no cramping, but got sharp pains in my sides twice that lasted maybe a minute. After the spotting ended my breasts were still sore mostly on the sides and underneath. A week after my withdraw bleed my breasts were still sore and I got really bad nausea and dizziness just at night when I laid down. That turned into diarrhea for two days.

Avatar f tn The urologist put me on macrobid as a prevenitive medicine to take before intercourse a few years ago. Following those instructions lessened my UTIs to no more than 4 times per year of getting UTIs (much more bearable). Then on Feb. 2nd 2010, I had what I will call an "episode". I thought I was getting a UTI, so I started my macrobid with the intensions of following up with my reg doctor the next day.

Avatar f tn You may want to talk with your Pharmacist as they will know what meds you could take that will have the same effect but maybe cost less....mine directed me to OTC meds....so I no longer use a RX as it is more cost effective for me and I am getting the same meds and dosage....
Avatar n tn So I stopped taking it because I was going into my placebo week. I had my period then stopped for a day or two then started spotting that's never happen to me. I got my new pack and started taking them and now I feel nauseous as ever and I'm in my second week going to my third week...
1134609 tn?1269272200 ve had a problem when the pharmacy stopped using one generic because it was no longer being produced. Generics are supposed to be exactly the same but they can vary slightly as regards the specific amount of the active ingredient (which is the medication) and other variables so this is a valid concern and hopefully it should work out. Best they write "dispense as written" on any medications you are prescribed from now on so you always are prescribed the brand.
Avatar n tn The light headedness is different than usual. They no longer last a short amount of time but long periods of time. I have odd heartbeats (went to the cardiologist but they didn't see anything) that actually hurts when it happens. The lightheadedness is what worries me. I can be sitting down, moving around or just putting clothes in the dryer when it starts. It's like when you are on an amusement park ride that spins you around and you get off and your mind is still spinning.
Avatar n tn I however was not able to get to a higher dose....but did well on the low dose I was on....I no longer am on it and am doing well, it did help me tho.
Avatar n tn it's been said that someone with epilepsy should not take a generic medication how true is this
Avatar f tn I should of gotten my period a few days ago but it never came. I have yet to take a test yet. Should I be concerned?
1119036 tn?1259534815 5mg 2 a day (greenstone, from Walgreens) The XR version of Xanax doesn’t kick in as fast as the regular Xanax but it does last a lot longer with less ups and downs. Just a thought for you to discuss with your doctor P.S. Greenstone is a subsidiary of Pfizer so I hear they are highly recommended.
Avatar f tn I saw my PC doctor on tuesday and asked just to be on yasmin for the next few months just b/c of the situation and so I started taking the generic ocella yesterday.
