Avatar f tn I have been on Ocella for the past 10 months. I'm finding that the past few months I am consistently anxious and depressed. I am concerned that it could be the birth control that I am on. I would like to know if there are any b.c. pills that limit this side effect. I also find that my libido is less strong. All of these symptoms are affecting my relationship. Any suggestions?

Avatar n tn Is there any research showing a loss of libido for men taking anti-seizure meds for epilepsy? Specifically neurontin or dilantan. If so, are there any treatments or suggested alternatives? Tks, concerned wife.
Avatar f tn Well Ocella is the generic for Yasmin. I was taking Yasmin for 2 years, when last month I was given Ocella. Well I wasn;t too thrilled with it, as I had cramps for 5 days plus I started my period 1 day late. They say generic is always the same, but for me I felt a difference. It could be from the pill. Your body needs to adjust being on it. Side affects should lessen by the third month.
Avatar m tn Hello everyone. I'm a 17 year old male in High School with erectile dysfunction and a loss of libido. I noticed starting January or February last year that my erections where getting weaker and softer. In July I woke up and my penis felt abnormally flaccid. I remember having trouble getting any erection at all that day. The next week I could get an erection, but I would have to try very hard, it wouldn't be a real strong erection, and I would have to try quite hard.

Avatar m tn I was wondering if switching birth control pills could have helped maximize the anxiety. I switched from yaz to ocella and have only been on ocella for a few months and the anxiety started like a month ago.
Avatar m tn Loss of libido and depression is a bit of a double edged sword. As Hector mentions clinical; depression and the loss of interest in life as well as sex is certainly a sign of clinical depression, however the problem with taking most of the SSRI (newer AD"s or the old MAIO"(older AD'Ss) is that the most complained about side effect to doctors and documented in studies was ..loss of libido /and or a sexual dysfunction problem.
Avatar f tn The only medicine she was taken was the birth control pill, Ocella. She was overweight, and at times showed signs of high blood pressure, otherwise healthy. I want to know if there is any relation between seizures and birth control pills. Any information is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Avatar f tn I am currently on Ocella (generic for Yasmin), I have been on it for almost a month, I start the inactive pills tomorrow night. Before I took Ocella, I was taking Yaz(and I switched immediatly). My last period lasted for 3-4 days. I should start my period on March 11th. Yesterday I had light pinkish/red blood when I wiped and some cramping and now I am having light brown discharge that is odorless. I have not missed any pills, and I do have unprotected sex.
Avatar m tn The symptoms you describe are not symptoms associated with any STD. On the other hand, loss of libido and ED can be due to a number of physical causes as well as the psychological ones you describe (stress). Medications are a common cause of ED and sometimes loss of libido (most often indirectly by leading to depression). There are also physical origins to ED, some of which include diabetes, neurological an vascular problems.
Avatar m tn Its been 6 years since her last really gratifying orgasm. Her libido is very high, she experiences complete arousal, with ample natural lubrication. Everything is perfect right up to the moment of orgasm. She either passes the orgasm by without results, or becomes ticklish and can't tolerate further stimulation. If she gets extremely aroused, then it ends in frustration so severe that she will convulse and cry.
