Actually there are lawsuits going on right now, where people have died on this particular birth control pill, from a variety of problems, including seizures. Apparently blood clots are the biggest problem, but I have indeed read about this seizure thing, too. There is also something about making too much calcium in the blood on that BC pill, too.
Well my gyn nurse practitioner called and I guess there is new evidence out that Yasmin is causing causes more blood clots than other BCPs, and this is a risk that increases as you get older. She’d like me to switch BCP. Which is not as straightforward as she thinks. I’m not sure if Kaiser is yanking my chain and just wanting me to take a generic BCP, the only thing I can find is a study published recently in the British Medical Journal.
I have done very little research about it but what I have found shows that there are more people out there that have negative things to say about it. I have heard people talk about migranes(sorry for spelling) blood clots kidney failrue, which really scares me and horrible moodswings. All of which I will proboaly get too. My thinking is that I have had migranes before and have taken meds like clomid that cause moodswings I don't see why yaz would be any different.
Well Ocella is the generic for Yasmin. I was taking Yasmin for 2 years, when last month I was given Ocella. Well I wasn;t too thrilled with it, as I had cramps for 5 days plus I started my period 1 day late. They say generic is always the same, but for me I felt a difference. It could be from the pill. Your body needs to adjust being on it. Side affects should lessen by the third month.
Yasmin is the one they have on TV all the time that causes blood clots and what not. I noticed a couple small bumps on my nipples and they are slightly darker than they were before all this. I have no idea when my next period should be since I am so messed up haha. What has got me the most confused is that the spotting I had lasted for 10 days and that seems a little much to me. And thank you for the help too! :) I'm going to pick up a test next time I go to the store.
Heavy heavy bleeding with clots. Apparently the blood flow is not even supposed to clot since your body wants the memses to get out, but if the bleeding is too heavy your body reponds by clotting the blood in the uterus, so it comes out as GLOBS! I have never in my life had this kind of heavy flow before. I had blood tests done and I have anaemia, so currently taking iron therapy

I was always cramping, could feel it moving and poking me. If it moves too much one day I was extra hormonal. The blood clots i had to pass with it were soooo horrible. Theres a reason theres a lawsuit against mirena beyaz and ocella. Ill never use an intrauterine contraceptive bc there's just NOT enough time tested proof of the side effects yet. Im sticking with pills, accidentally pregnancy is WAAAY more worth the risk than anything I went through with mirena.
I am currently on Ocella (generic for Yasmin), I have been on it for almost a month, I start the inactive pills tomorrow night. Before I took Ocella, I was taking Yaz(and I switched immediatly). My last period lasted for 3-4 days. I should start my period on March 11th. Yesterday I had light pinkish/red blood when I wiped and some cramping and now I am having light brown discharge that is odorless. I have not missed any pills, and I do have unprotected sex.
I was diagnosed with PCOS about a year ago after passing a blood clot the size of a grape fruit since then randomly I will pass blood clots, but they are not quite that size. Tuesday I started my period and it has been heavier than normal. I am passing about 7-8 clots a day. but tonight in the last 30 minutes I have had about 10 clots pass. I can feel them falling out of my body and they are about the size of 2 or 3 grapes. Should I be concerned?
Well i called today to get more answers as to what was causing the bleeding, and apparently i have blood clots forming in the layers of the placenta where its suppose to attach to the uterus....but the clots should be dissolving on their own. Currently on light bed rest and no sex.
Has anyone experienced this before its called Subchorionic hematoma...
I just found out I was in my first weeks of pregnancy yesterday, this morning I been bleeding not super heavy but period heavy and I had blood clots... what does that mean? I'm not miscarring right? Do I have to wait until the bleeding stops to take another pregnancy test to verify?
When it comes to heavier bleeding or actual blood and not the brown dried up blood, or passing clots it's best to be seen at er asap.

About five in the morning I felt wet so I decided to go take a shower. Went to the bathroom first and I was pushing, a big red bloob came out. Ive had blood clots before in my time but never this huge.I could fit it in the palm of my hand. I flushed it took a shower. Now I feel like I have to push again and the bleeding has not stopped. Im just very confussed and concerned. I cant be pregnant cause my tubes are tied.
First can you tell how old a clot is? Thern how long does it take to disolve a clot in the right chamber of a enlarged heat 4 times normal size? The heart also has only a 10% explusion rate or something like that it should normally be 70% from what I was told.

Abnormal periods are cause enough to go to a gynecologist. There are several causes to this, like hormonal imbalances and things like polycystic ovary syndrome.
The blood clots are probably not something that would cause too much concern, but I'd bring it up with your doctor either way. That said, be aware that in your period, you're not only shedding blood, but also the endometrium, which isn't so much the lining of your ovaries as it is the lining of your uterus.
Well I started my period 2 days ago and noticed it was heavy..I have since then seen 5-6 blood clots come out ... One the size of a loonie..Im starting to worrie again but I cant see my doc for another 2 months b/c they are soo full.. Does anyone know what is going on with me?..Am I just becoming a hypercondracte? Sorry about the spelling guys Im writing fast...
