Nuvaring tampon use

Common Questions and Answers about Nuvaring tampon use

nuvaring

Avatar f tn Today is day 34 (5 days after removing the nuvaring) and am still flowing heavy and am finally able to use a tampon. I also was cramping badly after trying to insert the tampon. I would say it's related to the nuvaring and would mention it to your doctor. They may want you to come early to be checked out.
Avatar f tn I use Nuvaring...and my concern was it getting "lost" in there. my doc told me there is no way it can get lost.So i would think a tampon wouldnt be any different. Make sure it isnt in there you should be able to feel it.
Avatar f tn I have been on the Nuvaring for the past couple of months and have not had any side effects. I always get my period within 3 days of taking the ring out and my period is completely normal ( I don't need anything more than a regular sized tampon to keep me covered). About 4 weeks ago my boyfriend came to visit me (he's in the army), and every time we had sex we had to remove the Nuvaring (it bothers me during sex) and he would ejaculate inside of me.
Avatar f tn LEGALLY your mother can't force you to get the shot. IT can make you gain weight, I put 50+ lbs on with it. Personally I'd suggest the Nuvaring if it's an option. I spent 3 months on it and LOVED It! The reason is Nuvaring is low dose, you won't normally put weight on with it, and it's easier than a pill and you don't have to remember it every day the same time.
1047543 tn?1270396878 I have been on the Nuvaring for about 3 months now.. I took one out the 3rd week & inserted a new one after my period.. My bf & I always have unprotected sex because I was on the ring but last week I began to feel nauseous and extremely drowsy! I have also bled during intercourse and I have now been expecting my period but I haven't got it.. I took 2 pg tests both negative.. & this morning I was bleeding when I wiped.. The blood was dark brown & thick..
Avatar f tn s similar to putting in a tampon, except you have to use your fingers, you fold it in half (squeeze 2 sides together) and insert it, it's not uncomfortable, and the guy can't feel it either. When you take it out you simply hook a finger around the edge and pull it out. Also if your not using them you should be using condoms because approx 1:3 women in the U.S. have an STD of some sort by the age of 21 I believe, my numbers may be off but I don't think so.
1528455 tn?1308634030 Ok I am 18 years old and for the life of me can not use a tampon comfortably. I have tried multiple times over the years and cant do it i can put it in but its not comfortable and tomorrow i am going to a water park so i have to wear one and cant back out now :( I have had sex before so this should be easy but nope. I need help in knowing why i cant use a tampon?????
Avatar f tn It wont Wrk. All the medicine n the nuvaring has already came out. Its ineffective! !!!
Avatar f tn It did make me hormonal. Personally, I like nuvaring. Its a small flexible ring, you or your doctor insert it sort of like a tampon (but with your fingers) and it stays in place 3 weeks. It lessened my acne, I never gained weight, I had no hormonal issues with it. I hate pills, I can't remember to take them and they always made me gain weight. But the nuva ring is expensive if you don't have insurance! It's over 100 $ a month.
Avatar f tn However, when I got ready to change my tampon, something fell out of my vagina! It looked like a piece of skin about the size of my palm and it was covered in dark dark blood, nearly black. I went to the ER and they didn't know what it was so they sent it off to a pathologist to be tested. Dr ruled out miscarriage. I'm still having light spotting which I assume is due to my period however I normally bleed heavy during menstruation.
Avatar f tn I just started the nuvaring about a week and a half ago. I was already experiencing yeast infections pretty often. Since the ring it seems worse. I cant get rid of this YI. Ive tried eating yogurt a lot, eating less sugar, probiotics, vitamin d, putting apple cider vinegar where it itches. I have also tried monistat and the pill my doctor gave me for yeast. Im experiencing a watery discharge. Im 16 and my mom wont help me and i dont have many other options for birth conrtol.
1134902 tn?1296066144 I am now on day 3 of no nuvaring and I am cramping bleeding large blood clots and I cant find any info about what to expect after the removal and stopping the use of nuvaring
Avatar m tn You started Nuvaring, it can take a few days for your period to start especially when your on yo ur first mornth of Nuvaring. It takes 3 months for your body to regulate hormones. Now if you had unprotected sex within the first week of being on nuvaring (if you hadn't been on another birth control method before) then it's possible to get pregnant. I was on Nuvaring for 3 months and had no issues with it.
Avatar f tn Hi!!! I'm 20 years old and I had my baby two months ago and I'm not sure what birth control to use... I have thought of two but my husband doesn't want me to get them, one of the birth control that I thought of is the 1 that is like a "t" but my husband doesn't want me to get it because he says that its going to poke his penis when he wants to put it inside n also ppl have told me that hurts when they put it inside of u..
889551 tn?1416184483 Hard to say. If you DO choose to use the NuvaRing though, just remember to use additional protection for as long as it specifies to. Usually it's a month you need to use protection while it become effective.

Avatar f tn I was thinking the same thing that my body is trying to get use to not being on the NuvaRing. I have not taken a test yet. I was trying to wait it out to see if my cycle comes on by the end of the month.
Avatar f tn So I use nuvaring. My periods are always on schedule according to when I insert the ring, and when I take it out. Well, it's been out for 5 days and I haven't gotten my period. I bought a pregnancy test and it was inconclusive. I bought two more and plan on using them tomorrow morning. My main concern though is that I have bipolar disorder and I am on a TON of strong medication for my illness.
7094011 tn?1405455886 Ok! I figured they would be easy to take vaginally. You could probably use a plastic tampon insert to put the pill in to insert them vaginally!
Avatar f tn I think it should be fine in the resealable foil bag. Put it back in that and you should be good.
Avatar f tn Ok, but if I failed to use a back up method should I consider emergency contraception?
Avatar n tn Many people have experienced pains and light bleeding while having intercourse and using nuvaring. It seems to affect everyone differently, but it's very likely the nuvaring is the source of your problems. I would suggest trying a different form of birth control, as this one is obviously not for you.
Avatar n tn I started Nuvaring September the 18th of this year and I did not have sex till October 1st but me and my partner didn't use a condom and he came inside me, do I have to use a contraception pill or will I be okay?
Avatar n tn Your doctor will tell which day of your menstrual cycle to insert the first vaginal ring you use. During the first 7 days of using your first vaginal ring, you may need to use back-up birth control, such as condoms or a spermicide. Follow your doctor's instructions. The NuvaRing should be left in place for 3 full weeks. Remove the ring after 3 weeks, on the same day of the week it was inserted at about the same time of day. Allow 1 full week to pass before inserting the new ring.
